Thanks for the overview. This looks like another solid euro for solo. It took me a while to figure out what types of games I like best (especially for solo) and this past year I've discovered how much I love soloing medium-heavy euros! So you're my goto channel. You've got a great down-to-earth approach with good commentary about the games. Keep it up!
Thanks for watching and for the feedback. I have a top 10 video on my favorite solo Euros, most of them being medium weight or so. Perhaps you will find some good picks there for your collection!
Thanks for sharing your overview and review! I also backed this on a sort of a whim and when opening the box I thought ohhhh boy this looks tough! Your overview helped a ton and I really enjoyed the game. One thing I got stuck on was AI scoring. When do I know to advance the scoring thing on the RP vs. The veteran? Does the veteran only advance for certain things? Which are they?
I believe that the veteran advances for everything with the exception of the points gotten when they don’t use the resources they generate. The veteran advances for all of the icons they achieve listed on the bot’s player board. Also, if you are playing with the boats, it works out that the veteran always advances 3 spaces when the boat makes its loop. I hope this helps!
@@JohnLaRuffa ahhhh yes! That's what I missed. I just moved the counter for everything and thought the veteran was on the ecosystem track. When I got to the end and had to double the AIs score, it didn't make sense. Ill have to play again the right way soon. Thanks for your help!
How can I email you directly? I may have some audio hardware to ship to you. Also, your channel is now my favorite solo channel. I watch your channel more than all others.
I likely won't be getting this. For some reason, it reminds me of Oak in certain ways, and I got rid of that one. Too much AP is a bad thing for me. Plus, the coloring seems a little strange to me, or not so easy on the eyes.
There can be a lot of AP here, but it was definitely reduced once I got familiar with the system. However, I really liked Oak and that one was no good for you, so this could fall into similar territory. However, I don’t think it really feels like Oak. It feels much more like a better version of Tzolkien to me.
Is there a BGG LINK you could put in. Also be aware of your camera, you tend to obstruct, with your arm or hand, what your trying to demo; or show stuff outside of frame. ☹️.
Just search on BGG Arborea. Sorry about the obstructions. I don’t love this angle but I thought it was better than an overhead shot given the way this one was taking up table space.
thanks for covering the solo mode. I had trouble trying to understand the ai board when reading the rules and this made it easier to understand
Very happy to have helped you out!

Love the game! Played it 5 times by now. Like both, the solo and the multiplayer! It feels so fresh as a euro game. It is so innovative and a real gem
I can’t wait to play it again!!!
After my first game - blown away. Thank you for this review, convinced me to get this one 😁👍
That’s great!
thank you for this review and the full-on solo playthrough - convinced me to get the game, should be here in a week or two 😁🙏
I really hope you like it. This is a great game and one of my Top 10 from 2023!
@@JohnLaRuffa yeah man I am pretty sure I will, love Barcelona and this one seems to have similar genes (same designer).
Thank you for this video, John! I have been looking forward to your thoughts on the solo version of the game.
