Funniest I seen was someone telling Joey Votto "I remember when you used to be good" and Votto replying with "Yeah, that was right around the time you used to be thin"
I actually found the box scores for your first series in Boise. You went 3 for 16 with 5 walks in the 5 games. thats a 188 ave but a 380 obp. So i can totally see why he might have said that and why remembered you actually doing okay.
In 1983, we had season tickets to the AAA Richmond braves. Several times a year, the would play the Pawtucket Pawsox. There was one heckler who loved to work Jackie Gutierrez. He would start at batting practice and continue the whole game. It really got to Gutierrez some nights as he had 3 errors and 3 strikeouts. The WORST way to respond to a heckler is to show that it bothers you.
"COME ON, MATT!!! YA GOTTA START EARNIN SOME OF THAT MONEY!!!"" haha that's the best story ever, Hey I live in Boise and grew up right up the road from Hawks Stadium (Memorial Stadium)!! That's awesome !! I'm also a Mariners fan, and Wade LeBlanc has been one of the bright spots on this team since we got him last year. I'm glad we gave him a contract to stick around for a few years!! That goldilocks story from NC is brutal too. These are like war stories but way better. Thanks for sharing all of these cool experience with fellow baseball fans!!!
I love your college heckling story. I went to GA Tech and went to many games. The kids were brutal. Even the PA announcer used to get in on the action.
Can you talk about your experience playing High School Baseball and do you still keep in touch with your old teammates and coaches?, whether that be in Little League, HS, College, the Minors and The Majors.
Hey Matt, I'm relatively new to this channel so idk if you've already made a video on this but can you describe how getting paid in an MLB organization works? How often do you get paid?
Hey Matt could you do more videos on college ball? I don't really have any specific questions about it lol but it's just interesting to hear some of your college ball experiences. Thanks
Antonelli Baseball - just thought of a question. If you went on an overnight visit when we're looking at colleges during the recruiting process, what were those overnights like? What did you do and that kind of stuff.
Can you do a video on getting accessories in the pros? Like batting gloves and wrist guards, how do you go about asking for them or do you provide them yourself
Best one I ever saw was in Seattle watching the blue jays play the mariners, sitting close to the wall out in LF. These three guys were just heckling the shit out of the blue jays left fielder, every inning and you knew he could hear them. Anyways in the 8th inning he makes this ridiculous diving catch to end the inning, and then he gets up and tosses the ball to the guys with a smile on his face. It was awesome lol.
😅 Man, some of these other college hecklers completely obliterate me when it comes to commitment. Probably my most vicious heckling moment was at a game where we noticed one of the players looked about 30 in his picture, so we just started picking at his age, asking if those were grey hairs, saying I didn't know they let base coaches play in college, etc. We managed to get him worked up enough to turn around and tell us to shut up (a little more colorfully than that). Probably didn't help we get seats behind the opposing dugout specifically to be in better range for heckling.
what's it like to be in a team celebration after winning a series or clinching a division/playoff spot.I was the batboy for a minor league team that had clinched their division and was lucky enough to part of the celebration in the clubhouse. I was about 13yrs old, but the players were nice enough to include me in their celebration. Funny story, my Mom got me from the ballpark that night and drilled me for drinking, even though i didn't have any alcohol, i definitely was covered in it.
I was at an Arkansas Travelers game in Little Rock and happened to be sitting next a woman who had a USMC Drill Instructor voice and she was making fun of one of the visiting team's player's socks. She was really bothering him too.
I was the one a few videos ago who commented about the 2-0 count in December. Seeing that you acknowledged my comment was awesome! I really would to know your opinions on the umpires through your travels to the MLB.
Do guys on the 40 man roster get a ring if the team wins the championship? Even if they are playing Triple A ball without major league service time that year?
I know that the Astros players all got a ring. Everyone on the roster not just the playoff roster. Even secretaries, and almost all the office Personnel got a ring. I know a lot of teams give them to people like that, but not all. They really went all out for their first championship. The Stros are a Class organization.
Update on Suspect. At the game today he heckled a hitter so bad he swung at a 2-2 fastball a foot and a half outside and the the guy was yelling back at him as he walked into the dugout.
Seriously Matt, I am not a big fan of baseball. I can't remember the last time I watched a game but I really enjoy your videos. Great insight and love your stories.
My favorite thing I've heard a player say is when Brandon Phillips told a cardinal fan "You wouldn't say shit to me if you were in the other side of this fence."
I remember that former Red Sox SS Jackie Gutierrez would let hecklers get under his skin and affect his performance. And the Richmond Brave fans could not wait to see the Pawsox come into town.
Hey Matt, i have a quick question. Since you were a first round pick, I assume there was a lot of hype around you. Do you think that you were treated differently by coaches, teammates, the opponent, fans, etc compared to a 32nd round pick, for example? Your comment about the fan heckling you made me wonder this.
I was at a game up here in Edmonton, Canada ( I think they were A ball at the time) but the visiting teams uniforms were horrible. It sorta looked like they all bought their own pants because they didn't all look the same. Some heckler yelled out at one of them " hey 31. your grandpa called. He needs his pants back after the game". I felt sorry for him because there were a bunch of good looking girls sitting front row about 8 feet away from him lol.
I had front row seats behind the visitors on deck circle at US Cellular the day Carlos Correa was called up. The girl sitting right behind me knew him personally. Apparently worked for the minor league team he had just been called up from. The whole night she called his name " Carlos it's me!! I know you can hear me!!!" He NEVER turned to even look at her. Mean while Jose Abreu talked to my 10 year old THE WHOLE NIGHT! Abreu gained a life long fan, while my son (and everyone else who could hear that girl calling Carlos's name all night) left thinking very little of Carlos Correa.
Yeah I've seen players act both ways. Some a really locked in and don't pay any attention to the stands. Especially for a guy like Carlos Correa who probably has people calling his name every night. Thanks of watching!!
A couple of years ago I was at Fenway for a Red Sox-Rays game. Late in the game Evan Longoria came up to bat. Two jerks near me started yelling EEEEEEVAAAAA, EEEEEVAAAAAA, EEEEVAAAAA - YOU SUCK! They did this 2 or 3 times. Longoria then promptly put one over the Green Monster. Not a Rays fan by any means, but I couldn't help but smile.
In 1999, I went to the first game of a doubleheader at Shea Stadium where Robin Ventura was the only player in ML history to hit grand slams in both ends of the DH. In the first inning, an old Eric Young, Sr. came up and there were about 400 people in the whole park. I was in the upper deck, and it was the farthest upper deck in all of MLB. I screamed, "you should retire, you're too old!" Next thing I know, he cracks it over the fence. Shut me up.
Who was the funniest teammate you ever had?
Does the bat boy talk to the players?
Funniest I seen was someone telling Joey Votto "I remember when you used to be good" and Votto replying with "Yeah, that was right around the time you used to be thin"
Haha that was great! Thanks so much for watching and commenting!
Wtf I remember that I’m from Cincinnati
I actually found the box scores for your first series in Boise.

"your hitting a buck 80 ya bum....strike 3 sit down"😂😂😂💀💀had me in dead laughter. love the vids Matt!!
Marcus Wilson I agree. Matt is a relatable, down to earth guy. Appreciate the videos.
I just found these videos about two weeks ago and am hooked. I love it when there's good stories that he tells.
I’m a white guy and I remember a lot of racial slurs towards me and I was like wtf ur white 2
This channel is about more than baseball. These are lessons about life!
Love this video! Keep em coming! Would love to see a video on team rivalries and how teams/players prepare and play differently than other games.

What are simulated games like for major leaguers coming off the dl?
Matt you're great man. I watch all ur videos
"COME ON, MATT!!! YA GOTTA START EARNIN SOME OF THAT MONEY!!!"" haha that's the best story ever, Hey I live in Boise and grew up right up the road from Hawks Stadium (Memorial Stadium)!! Hahaha! Thanks for watching our videos!
Just found your channel and enjoy your view of things baseball. Thanks!
Thanks so much!!! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Great video! Can you talk about like players in game injuries? And what's the rehab and disabled list process?
You seem like such a cool guy, love your perspective man.
Make a video explaining how hard you had to work in high school to get to play college and major leagues like your routine you had
What are sim game like in the major league and what's it like having a big leaguer on a rehab start please do a video about this
I swear I love these videos! I absolutely love hearing your stories Matt! It's the biggest highlight of my day! Thank you so much for sharing!!! 👍
what goes on in the dugout during the 7th inning stretch. do they the players sing just sit or dose the song just get annoying
Heckling at the Durham Bulls games is one of my favorite pastimes. If they laugh at the jokes then you start cheering them on.
Hahaha! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Were you the guy shouting “Shuck you suck” in the outfield seats to JB Shuck 😂
Hey Matt could you do more videos on college ball? I don't really have any specific questions about it lol but it's just interesting to hear some of your college ball experiences. Thanks
Sure thing!!! Thanks for watching!!
I think one of my first videos on gear in the MLB hit on a lot of that. Thanks for watching!!
Best one I ever saw was in Seattle watching the blue jays play the mariners, sitting close to the wall out in LF. Hey that's cool you played at Wake Forest. I just got Stuart Fairchild's autograph at a minor lg game last week. He played at Wake.
Hey Matt, can you do a video about what kind of food you eat in the dugout during the game? Also I love your vids!
I love the videos Matt, keep em coming!
Thanks!!!
Can you have any accessories for the trivia and giveaway
I love your videos! Can you make a video on what it's like dating in the major leagues?
Thanks and sure thing!!! Thanks for watching!!
Yo Wade Leblanc was pretty good on the Mariners last season. We could use him in our rotation right now!
Haha yes he has done a great job! Thanks for watching!!
Very nice story
Hello from Deep Rural Southwest Georgia, fans here love our Atlanta Braves
You earned your money with this great video.
How do you suggest trying to compete for a spot on a team with a player that may have a physical advantage?
Just do your best and play 100% all the time. Good luck! Thanks of watching!!
You could call Tonya Harding...
Video on How to break in your infield glove? Thanks
I threw up a video on that a few years ago if you type it into search it should come up. Thanks for watching!
"clear the mechanism"
Your Q&A's are the Truth. Great Video. Hope the fam is doing good bro.
What's your most disappointing moment as a professional baseball player?
Sorry for the depressing question lol

I’m an M’s fan. And I’ll see if I can get a smile out of Wade when he’s trotting onto the field.
ice788 You can yell “Antonelli wouldn’t throw a slider in the dirt like that, start earning your salary...”
Matt, do you sign autographs TTM?
Also, are you a collector?
I do sign but I don't collect. Thanks for watching!
Hey Matt, not sure if you had done a video on this, but I was wondering if you had ever been in a benches clear brawl and what happens after that ?
I was at an Arkansas Travelers game in Little Rock and happened to be sitting next a woman who had a USMC Drill Instructor voice and she was making fun of one of the visiting team's player's socks. She was really bothering him too.
That quote was hilarious! 😂
I was the one a few videos ago who commented about the 2-0 count in December. Seeing that you acknowledged my comment was awesome! I really would to know your opinions on the umpires through your travels to the MLB.
I put a video up about that a few days ago I believe. Thanks for watching!!
All Syracuse Chiefs fans are still rooting for you Martty. Good luck on your channel.
Thanks!!! Thanks for watching!!
Man I saw you get your first hit in the show against Greg Maddox. That had to of been a surreal moment for you.
It was pretty cool for sure!!! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Great video!
Do guys on the 40 man roster get a ring if the team wins the championship? Even if they are playing Triple A ball without major league service time that year?
Hmmm good question! It's never happened to me so not 100% sure. I'll try to find out! Thanks of watching!!
Antonelli Baseball Did you ever find out? I can't find it anywhere on the internet... 🤔
No only the ones who are on the playoff roster.
I know that the Astros players all got a ring. Everyone on the roster not just the playoff roster. Even secretaries, and almost all the office Personnel got a ring. I know a lot of teams give them to people like that, but not all. They really went all out for their first championship. The Stros are a Class organization.
Had some friends involved with the reds. From what I understand the ring decision is an organizational decision.
'' Hey you're hitting a buck eighty you bum, shit im hitting a buck eighty, strike 3 '' lol 🤣🤣actually lol
How was nbt bank stadium (chiefs) for heckling
A voice carries better in a college park too. Minor league games get kinda personal also
Speaking of heckling do you remember Suspect from Syracuse? He still comes to every game and yells from the first base side.
AlexHurd TV how could he forget that one.
AlexHurd TV that man brings batting gloves to the game to heckle
Update on Suspect. At the game today he heckled a hitter so bad he swung at a 2-2 fastball a foot and a half outside and the the guy was yelling back at him as he walked into the dugout.
I live in Syracuse
Go chefs
Do a video on shoulder injuries
Will do! Thanks for watching!!
Can you talk about women/ girls future playing baseball.
I wanna see those flowing locks again man
Haha too much work! Plus my wife didn't like it lol. Thanks for watching!!
How did guys in the big leagues help prevent/treat blisters?
Wow great question! I need to make a video on that for you! Thanks of watching!!
I was at a AA game in Akron and the fans where yelling at the 1st baseman about his mother and sister
Did you ever have to make that long walk back to the dugout after striking out at Clemson?
Wade is now one of the best pitchers in the league now
"Wade has said to me probably 6,000 times" 😂😂😂😂
It is no lie lol. Thanks for watching!
Antonelli Baseball Wade LeBlanc?
Yes. Wade LeBlanc. Pitcher (now) on the Mariners.
Seriously Matt, I am not a big fan of baseball. I can't remember the last time I watched a game but I really enjoy your videos. Great insight and love your stories.
"Get off your knees, blue-you're blowing the game!"
Pope Ricardo Pianus V% Nattalian Priest my favorite line in the game😂
whats it like to be ejected? or if youve never been ejected then how does the atmosphere change when a big player or your manager gets ejected?
I have a video of that. Put it up a few days ago. Thanks of watching!!
I remember getting heckled hard in little league by a teammate's older brother and friends after botching a double play.
What is different about a college and major league fan atmosphere?
My favorite thing I've heard a player say is when Brandon Phillips told a cardinal fan
"You wouldn't say shit to me if you were in the other side of this fence."
That sucks
Cardinals fans are assholes too.
Except some of us would.
Funny stuff Matt. Swimming laps inside my head. Good one. That’s some funny 💩.
I remember that former Red Sox SS Jackie Gutierrez would let hecklers get under his skin and affect his performance. And the Richmond Brave fans could not wait to see the Pawsox come into town.
1 question how many times in your career were you called a BUM??? Approximately?
You had to love the show at Elsinore
Loved Elsinore!!! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Antonelli Baseball yeah man, I held season tix there for years. Dollar for dollar, I found it a better show than MLB.
Do baseball players get upset when fans are doing the wave? Or throwing a beach ball around?
Nah don't really notice. Thanks of watching!!
Yes absolutely! I can make a video detailing more about this. Thanks of watching!!
That would be great! Thanks for responding!
Some hecklers are hilarious though!
What are your guys restrictions and stuff your not allowed to do?
There really isn't anything we aren't supposed to do. Thanks for watching!!
I was at a game up here in Edmonton, Canada ( I think they were A ball at the time) but the visiting teams uniforms were horrible. It sorta looked like they all bought their own pants because they didn't all look the same. Some heckler yelled out at one of them " hey 31. your grandpa called. Thanks for sharing!!! Thanks for watching and commenting!
"Way to hit a buck 80 you bum" Lol sounds like something those old school spectators like back in the 1940s would say
Haha! Thanks for watching our stuff and commenting!
What is the signing bonus for a first round pick?
Mike Mucho dinero!
When you played Miami, did you hear the UH-HUH guy? He's still doing it very loudly.
Did you ever get a curten call
No I wish! Thanks for watching!!
You know damn well that everyone paused the video to look up your hair in college
Hahaha! Yes!!! Thanks for watching!!
Yep, me too. Couldn't find any though.
I had front row seats behind the visitors on deck circle at US Cellular the day Carlos Correa was called up. The girl sitting right behind me knew him personally. Apparently worked for the minor league team he had just been called up from.

Your actually really funny too😂😂”hey you’re hitting a buck 80 you bum”😂😂😂😂
Thanks!!! Thanks for watching!
I will forever say now when I watch your videos, "Come on, MATT! GOTTA START EARNIN' SOMEOFTHAT MONEY?!?!"
Hahaha I love it! Thanks of watching!!
What do you think of fan interference
I can't blame a fan for trying to get a ball. Thanks for watching!!
Hey coach Matt
Hi!
You know wade leblanc that's awesome
A couple of years ago I was at Fenway for a Red Sox-Rays game. Late in the game Evan Longoria came up to bat. Two jerks near me started yelling EEEEEEVAAAAA, EEEEEVAAAAAA, EEEEVAAAAA - YOU SUCK! They did this 2 or 3 times. Longoria then promptly put one over the Green Monster. Not a Rays fan by any means, but I couldn't help but smile.
Haha I like it!!! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Hey Blue! If you had one more eye you'd be a cyclops!
Haha! Thanks for watching and commenting!

Humorous story Matt! lol your earnin the $$ now ;)
Haha trying!
How does arbitration work
That is a good question! I don't actually know all the ins and outs of it. I was never eligible.
Wish more players did videos like these. Amazing insight into the behind the scenes of what all goes on in the baseball world. Lol.
Thanks!! Thanks for watching!!!
Hi
Hi!
Your coach got mad at you for having your hair too long but Jayson Werth is allowed to be a caveman?
Haha I agree! Thanks of watching!!
He didn't look like that until years after he got to the bigs. At first he was a clean cut nerdy looking type guy.
Did you play in Spokane?
Yes I did my first year. Thanks for watching!
Antonelli Baseball that's my home town. My mom thinks I'm nuts for loving the smell of pine tar. Am I?
Have you ever heard of the Lowell spinners
Yes they play about 20 minutes from my house. Thanks of watching!!
I have they play auburn Doubledays where I’m from
In 1999, I went to the first game of a doubleheader at Shea Stadium where Robin Ventura was the only player in ML history to hit grand slams in both ends of the DH. In the first inning, an old Eric Young, Sr. came up and there were about 400 people in the whole park. I was in the upper deck, and it was the farthest upper deck in all of MLB. I screamed, "you should retire, you're too old!" Next thing I know, he cracks it over the fence. Shut me up.
Haha thanks for sharing!!!
