I actually found the box scores for your first series in Boise.
You went 3 for 16 with 5 walks in the 5 games. thats a 188 ave but a 380 obp.
So i can totally see why he might have said that and why remembered you actually doing okay.

"COME ON, MATT!!! YA GOTTA START EARNIN SOME OF THAT MONEY!!!"" haha that's the best story ever, Hey I live in Boise and grew up right up the road from Hawks Stadium (Memorial Stadium)!! That's awesome !! I'm also a Mariners fan, and Wade LeBlanc has been one of the bright spots on this team since we got him last year. I'm glad we gave him a contract to stick around for a few years!!
That goldilocks story from NC is brutal too. These are like war stories but way better. Thanks for sharing all of these cool experience with fellow baseball fans!!!

In 1983, we had season tickets to the AAA Richmond braves. Several times a year, the would play the Pawtucket Pawsox. There was one heckler who loved to work Jackie Gutierrez. He would start at batting practice and continue the whole game. It really got to Gutierrez some nights as he had 3 errors and 3 strikeouts. The WORST way to respond to a heckler is to show that it bothers you.

Best one I ever saw was in Seattle watching the blue jays play the mariners, sitting close to the wall out in LF. These three guys were just heckling the shit out of the blue jays left fielder, every inning and you knew he could hear them. Anyways in the 8th inning he makes this ridiculous diving catch to end the inning, and then he gets up and tosses the ball to the guys with a smile on his face. It was awesome lol.

I have an interesting story about heckling a player! It was me my dad and cousin. It was the tigers vs the Yankees my cousin is a Yankees fan. My dad was heckling the shit out the Yankees right fielder Miguel andujar! My dad wasn’t saying anything disrespectful and he was heckling him in Spanish lol. But my dad kept up with it thru 5 innings. I remember an ump came running to the cop in the out field and told the cop something. That next inning security came to up and said we needed to return to our seats and basically told us to be quiet! I was somewhat upset because we weren’t doing anything wrong! So we ended up leaving! The cop didn’t do anything 😂 I remember being so upset I spit on comerica park 😂😂😂😂😂😂 sorry it was the modelo!

The other day I was playing a team we don't get along with very well (2 bench clearing brawls so far/not including verbal disputes every time we play) so even the parents heckle us. Bottom of the last inning and we're up by 2. Our pitcher loads the bases on three straight walks and some stupid dad yells "Hey be smart he's wild" and our pitcher steps off, looks the guy in the face and yells "SHUT THE FUCK UP!" and proceeded to strike out the side to end the game. Long story short that same dad from the other team got in a first fight with my coach and the other guy got arrested lol MORAL OF THE STORY NEVER HECKLE

what's it like to be in a team celebration after winning a series or clinching a division/playoff spot.I was the batboy for a minor league team that had clinched their division and was lucky enough to part of the celebration in the clubhouse. I was about 13yrs old, but the players were nice enough to include me in their celebration. Funny story, my Mom got me from the ballpark that night and drilled me for drinking, even though i didn't have any alcohol, i definitely was covered in it.

😅 Man, some of these other college hecklers completely obliterate me when it comes to commitment.
Probably my most vicious heckling moment was at a game where we noticed one of the players looked about 30 in his picture, so we just started picking at his age, asking if those were grey hairs, saying I didn't know they let base coaches play in college, etc.
We managed to get him worked up enough to turn around and tell us to shut up (a little more colorfully than that). Probably didn't help we get seats behind the opposing dugout specifically to be in better range for heckling.

I’m an A1 heckler, but I try to shut up. Goldy locks isn’t that bad, be glad they didn’t scream “hey do you two pull each other’s hair?” To you and your buddy who also had some hair, it can get rough out there lol

Did you ever have to make that long walk back to the dugout after striking out at Clemson?

In 1999, I went to the first game of a doubleheader at Shea Stadium where Robin Ventura was the only player in ML history to hit grand slams in both ends of the DH. In the first inning, an old Eric Young, Sr. came up and there were about 400 people in the whole park. I was in the upper deck, and it was the farthest upper deck in all of MLB. I screamed, "you should retire, you're too old!" Next thing I know, he cracks it over the fence. Shut me up.

I was at a game up here in Edmonton, Canada ( I think they were A ball at the time) but the visiting teams uniforms were horrible. It sorta looked like they all bought their own pants because they didn't all look the same. Some heckler yelled out at one of them " hey 31. your grandpa called. He needs his pants back after the game". I felt sorry for him because there were a bunch of good looking girls sitting front row about 8 feet away from him lol.
