@@GetYourSaxTogether we shall see. I just started 3 weeks ago on the tenor at the tender age of 29 lol. I actually play the parts of this that I know sometimes when I practice. I always play something far beyond my skill level in the background. For guitar it was Bouree in E-minor. Thank you for the upload. Cheers from Texas!
Having just put my socks on at this ungodly hour on a Sunday morning, JA's just blown them off! I'm just reaching for my Dark Side of The Moon album, and I can see the rest of Sunday's just going to be playing my 70's rock vinyls now (goodbye car wash and lawn mowing, thanks for the inspiration Jamie!) I'm not going to be bothering playing this, I'd never do it justice, just gonna listen and enjoy.
I used to play this in a Pink Floyd theatre production. I used the main parts of the solo with a few of my own alterations . People don't want to get too hung up on the exact notation as I think Parry plays it more like a busking easy feel.
This is a great solo and your playing/teaching style really excellent… Following one by one each lesson, each tip and reccommendation… I hope someday I can play this solo on the sax successfully as it deserved.
Jamie, I never get tired of watching your videos, I have been busy for two weeks and I have seen the last videos very in passing, even today is not my usual time (of the first ones) and the surprise has been very pleasant, this topic is in my Top Teen, enjoy the coffees, Cheers
Perfect timing man. I have to play this song in my online project with my band. I will change it with my own touch but the cornerstone is ur video. Thanks!
WOW Jamie you nailed it totally!! I think I remember you saying you are not a huge rock sax fan so good on you for your effort on this one. I'm a jazz head now but Pink Floyd has been my ultimate favorite rock band for longer than I care to think about. Dick Party's iconic riffs are one of the reasons I wanted to play the saxophone. I don't think I will be playing this one anytime soon though but my efforts on Us and Them have been fruitful. Thanks! I love your videos and listen faithfully. Smell the coffee sax sensei, you earned it! Bill.

Another great one Jamie, I can see I'll be spending a lot of time in the wood shed on this! Is there any chance you could put one together on the Wesley Magoogan solo from Will You? Lastly a massive thanks for all that you're doing to share your knowledge.
Hi, guitarist here. Wondering why Alto or Tenor Sax staves are not transcribed in actual concert pitch... this is in Bminor? Genuine interest. Watching, hoping to learn solo to play on guitar. Liked and Subscribed. Cheers.
I know it seems mad, but when you finger a C on any saxophone, you want to be reading a C on the page. The end result is that a written C for a saxophone comes out as a different note in concert pitch. I wouldn't get too hung up on it if I were you, and just count your lucky stars you play a concert pitch instrument!

Awesome job! Sometimes sounds different than original, but it is boring to just perform exact replica, I know! The ending solo from Shine On Your Crazy Diamond is the next? :)
Actually, it’s supposed to be an exact replica, I’m not trying to make it my own. Of course it’s almost impossible to be a carbon copy, especially of someone as self taught and idiosyncratic as Dick Parry, but which bit(s) do you think sound different? Shine On is on my list!
