Might want to walk up on the target, swinging normally, to differentiate between the target and all the background noise, falsing, iron contamination, and EMI causing the detector to respond erratically. Sure, the detector makes a noise over the target, but would you have stopped to investigate the target? Or would the target blend in with all the other audio noise? That's the key. The detector can be adjusted to be sensitive to the target. Still, that detector setting is not useable in the real world due to the over-amplification of everything that is not the target. You are looking for which detector can be adjusted for the soil and EMI conditions to avoid unwanted noise and still hear the target the best. So, try walking up a couple yards back from the target, swinging the detector naturally, and see how well the coin signal "pops" in relation to the non-coin audio that is also "popping."
Thanks Johnny anglo, I did try this and will try and show in future, deus 2 is the calmer of the two out in the field. Very well matched machines... unless your in heavy iron with 4" coil vs a 9" coil.... EOM
