Excellent step by step instruction. Simple, clear and correct. Windows always drives me crazy and is why I use Linux but it is good to have someone who truly knows Windows, but more importantly able to explain it step by step. My friend had several EFI partitions on his drive and couldn't get to Windows. You my friend saved me from having to erase over everything with the rescue disk. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!
what you explained in approx 4 min here has saved hours for many. For anyone who is still getting the error using the override parameter also, just restart into bios and remove that drive all together from boot sequence (only applicable for internal SSD and M.2 drives which had a OS and is in boot order). Once removed, jut follow these steps :) Happy troubleshooting guys.
The stupidity of Windows... "I will not allow you to do it from the nice interface, you have to do it from command prompt and risk making an error" which is probably why it was not allowed in the first place. Excellent design! /s
The reserved partition got deleted but the ESP drive failed to be deleted. It says "Virtual Disk Service error: Delete is not allowed on the current boot, system, pagefile, crashdump or hibernation volume".

Hi GMODISM, What happened to the missing video at about 2:29? I'm guessing you deleted it because of the typo with "overide", but I think you deleted too much, because we miss how you deleted that first partition ... unless we go back and analyze that section of the video to see what happened. Apart from that little glitch, you did a great job! Any chance you could fix the problem and re-post the corrected video for us please?
When I try to create a system image of my drive 0 I get an error 0x807811e which pertains to an EFI error. I have several disks that I use to store information/data. When I called up Disk Management, it lists all the drive just as you said. On the drive where I store the system image there an EFI partition. This is probably where the error is coming from. Can I delete that EFI partition? I've noticed that there is an EFI partition on another drive. Should I delete that partition as well? That particular drive is not used for a backup.
Thank you, I however get this ; "The arguments specified for this command are not valid. For more information on the command type: HELP DELETE PARTITION" even though I run CMD as an administrator... can it be because windows isnt activated yet?
Information is good, but as I have a few hard drives with partitions and even a NAS attached, this really wasn't all that easy to follow as diskpart gave inconsective information. I ended up just getting a Linux Mint distribution and booting from in, then selecting the USB stick I wanted to remove the EFI and other partition from. Using the Disk GUI tool included with Linux Mint, it was a simple as clicking on the partitions, deleting them, then creating a new partition. Worked perfectly and was considerably easier and, in my opinion, much safer.
I selected the EFI partion and try to delete it, got this error: Virtual Disk Service error: The operation is not supported by the object. The specified command or parameters are not supported on this system
Deleting ESP can cause many issues. If you delete the EFI partition, the bootloader will not be able to find from where to boot the OS. Deleting the ESP will just create new problems, so it is not recommended. Here is a better option. Open Windows Powershell or the command line as administrator: Start→Right click Powershell→Run as administrator Open diskpart: diskpart Identify the EFI partition showing up in Explorer: list volume Select the EFI partition (replacing the X with the correct drive letter): select volume X Remove the EFI partition's drive letter (replacing the X with the correct drive letter): remove letter=X Exit diskpart: exit Open regedit: Start→Type regedit Find the right key/folder: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\MountedDevices If the EFI partitions drive letter is still in the registry, delete the value: e.g. \DosDevices\X: Close RegEdit and reboot.
This is what happend next to me.. Why? help Virtual Disk Service error: Delete is not allowed on the current boot, system, pagefile, crashdump or hibernation volume.
I get when this when I tried to delete the EFI partition. Virtual Disk Service error: The operation is not supported by the object. The specified command or parameters are not supported on this system.
Sounds like you tried deleting the partition on your active OS drive, it stops you from doing that as it would brick your PC and prevent it from even starting.

I have successfully delete the recovery partition but i can't delete the EFI partition at all.
That's probably because you're trying to delete the partition on which your current OS is located.
