no copyright infringement intended. The movie is not mine, the reactions are not mine, only the hard work, time, and dedication of putting this all together is mine. I wouldn't call myself a hero, cause what's a hero? But sometimes, there's a man.... - Розваги
This scene in the theaters was so sad and silent ... Every one was crying.
Same in my viewing. Not a word. Just sobbing.

I am not a dog's lover my self.
But putting the consideration that this dog was the only breathing living friend with me that i take care of and the opposite. It hit me hard when Robert keep ordering Sam the dog to not going there but if the dog didn't go he will be dead for sure.
Sam had done the opposite and saved Robert.
That's what hit me hard back then.
Nag
Really? Mine was silent because everyone was snoring. People fell asleep watching this movie when I went to see it, and I think my brother and I were only ones to see this scene consciously.
@@Voidaken liar liar plants for hire
Ugh, this one still gets me, even after all these years.
I started crying in the theater, and it would be 2 years before I'd lose my first dog.
the alternate end is WAY better. you can find it on youtube pretty easily. Sadly it does not bring Sam back. RIP Samantha.
I didn’t cry
@@user-vm9we7fs4dgood for you then
@@jadenmcmillan4306 despite it being a "movie" its just so well done that it seems so real and so emotionally well written
This scene makes me cry because my dog saved me from bad dogs. He kept fighting. I tried to yell to my brother, but my dog stopped moving... I cried. His name was poo like kung fu panda. He is always in my heart because he's my hero like Samantha ❤❤❤❤❤😢❤❤❤
I first watched this movie as a kid, and I was a total mess when the dog died. Sam was such a good companion, and as one of the reactors stated, was basically the only friend that Robert had.
Anyone who wasn't a dog lover, became one after this movie.
Sam was the Co-Hero in this movie. She saved Will Smith's characters life at the cost of her own. I always get teary eyes seeing this scene.
I have a German Shepherd so this scene always has me sobbing. I've seen this movie lots of times and I am a total mess every time with this scene, I can't help but to picture my own dog 😭
The dog did the right thing to protect the owner
This scene is the one that stayed with me from this movie, I still recall it ever since the movie came out, it still hurts...
Dasha's such a Sweetheart. 🤧🤧
I enjoy seeing people who have the same reactions, especially with dogs, because I love them.
I remembered watching this as a kid and once he said “Samantha” my heart dropped…
That dog deserves an Oscar for being the best dog performance
😢😢😢😢😢
Bad memories...this was the first time i saw my father cry and it shocked me like hell
Man this scene really hurts especially with what he was forced to do to Sam
Great job, as always. Dasha gets very upset when dogs are involved. She really is passionate about them. You've done it again, sir.! Many thanks from Central Iowa, USA!
Hi back from East Tennessee! can't wait for her to watch Hachi: A Dog's Tale. Simone *sobbed*.
@@YoureMrLebowski Ask and you shall receive! Her reaction to that movie is now up.
I remember seeing this movie in the theaters when it premiered and I cried my eyes out this scene, I haven't cried that hard since the ending of Homeward Bound & Old Yeller.
Everyone cry's doing the scene when first seen. Took me 2 weeks to get over it. This scene and the daughter dying scene from 1408 and Mickey in rocky 3 hits me in the soul
This broke me in the past and still broke me til now.
Everyone loves their dog, or dogs in general.
This scene was horrifically sad
She still save him at the end, pure love for Samantha 😢😢😢
Still one of the SADDEST deaths in movie history.
Such a sad scene goodbye Sam I was so happy he got revenge at the end of the final confrontation
Sam went out protecting her human friend. We don't deserve dogs...
Some of us do, but not all
we are gonna cry when a dog gets hurt, its a universal truth and no one can stop it lmao
Will smith SHOULDVE gotten an Oscar nod for this role
I’m with a lot of the other commenters. My dad and I went to see this in theaters. This scene guaranteed that neither of us would ever watch the movie again. To this day, aside from this video (a dare to myself), I still haven’t. And I don’t want to.
I'm exactly the same way, I've watched it once and couldn't watch it again. Was way too hurt about that one scene 😥
Sam was amazing in this film, powerful companion.
I liked the 'I hope you enjoyed' caption at the end of the video...XD Sadistic af
"Keep my dog's name....."
🙂
Man, after my cat passing, this hit different. Poor Sam ❤
When you realize they werent zombies but vampires 😂
I bawled my eyes out.
😭😭😭
I'll bet he didn't want to do it but he had no choice. It was either kill the rabid infected dog or be killed by it. 😭😭😭
This was a depressing scene to watch in the theater. Such a good movie though :) I had Bob Marley's Three Little Birds as my ringtone for at least a year after I saw it.
This is one of the saddest scenes in movie history.Sam was his best friend and only companion in the world and he had to kill him
Hands down the saddest scene in a movie😂 seen grown men tearing up during this the time the took to choke him out was making it so much worse
Why didnt i cry......
"What kind of b*llshit is that?"
That's real life, my friends. The best movies remind us that many times the hero still dies...
Yea except what isn't real is being alone in the world, pure isolation
In 2005,our Spitz left us due to distemper viral infection.Watching this scene makes the loss even more agonizing though it happened years ago....
Oh my god, these people have no idea (i'm only half way through). They have no idea what's coming 😢
Heartbreaking. 😢😢😢
I always find it weird how people, westerners mostly have these extreme empathy towards dogs yet sometimes little to none towards humans . Why is that though ?
Because they're truly pure hearted, don't deceive (not seriously at least), and give you absolutely 0 judgment. They'll love you unconditionally no matter what. You take care of them and they'll take care of you. Good luck trying to find a human with such qualities.
It's a down fault of residency in a culture that has empathy and thought with creatures that have no idea of satisfying our own desires that translate to equal happiness. Unlike the barbaric slovic choice of unbeknownst horrors.
I heard Will Smith was so attached to the dog 🐕 that played Sam he tried to buy her from the Trainer but he refused to let her go.
Yup.
I will do anything...anything in real life.... without seeing...this... 💔😭🐕🦺
Also it was sad cause they were the only two left on earth now Sam's gone he's all alone. 😭
I hate how some people say “we don’t deserve dogs” to very a small group of people that applies but humans deserve to feel the love and loyalty a dog brings into their lives. I know it’s a movie but that just upsets me when I hear it
Have you noticed that you only see our side, the people's side? If you want a dog to do good things for a person, then we humans should finally change our behavior towards animals. Many people only remember animals when they, for whatever reason, are feeling bad.
@@2tone753 have you noticed that that’s the entire point? Humans don’t understand unconditional love so in exchange a dog can provide that and change a person so the statement “humans don’t deserve dogs” is still useless and flawed. We human aren’t perfect but dogs are so why not let them show us how to be a better person and how to love unconditionally no matter who it is? Please I hope you finally broadened your horizon after my comment because yours didn’t hold any weight I’m sorry to say it like that
@@Ziiro11 Don't worry, I understand what you're talking about. I also disagree that people don't deserve dogs. I have been a dog owner for 40 years. My opinion remains that many people discover the dog or cat when they have no one else to liven up their home. By the way, during the Corona
During the crisis many people bought dogs, cats and much more.
After the crisis was overcome, the animal shelters were bursting at the seams.
For me this is clear confirmation of my claim. I have nothing to learn, at least not on this topic.
I can relate. Any movie about a dog's death or getting hurt will do me in. I love my dogs.
This is sisters favorite movie still and this was very messed up when i saw this 😢
Life isn’t fair.
Deal with it.
My uncle always used to tell me this and it is the greatest life lesson of all.
Good luck dealing with it.
Maybe the dog should have been nominated for an Academy Award for best supporting actor LOL.
Or best supporting actress since Sam is a girl.
Such a tough scene.
I like the 70s version a lot better overall. But this is the one part of this film that was genius was giving him the dog.
I remember in the novel that Neville finds a stray but the amount of time he spends with the dog is very short. I'm happy that they took that small part and expanded upon it in the movie.
Now that I have a dog I hate this scene a 100X more now. Y’know, at first, watching this as a kid (maybe like 10 or 11) I thought this movie was just a straightforward sci fi movie. Don’t remember watching any trailers or whatever. Then this turns into a horror movie w jumpscares and I become traumatized. TRAUMATIZED!!!
Good movie tho
rip Sam
The scene still makes me cry to this day
"i hope you enjoyed"
Me: doubt it
heartbreaking
There making a sequel but the trick is, it's based off the alternate ending. If you haven't seen It, it's a MUST!. It's far superior and makes more sense. It's fully done SPX wise. Never understand why theaters got the other ending with the grenade. Don't get me wrong, it was hardcore. but the alternate is so much better. Check it out when you have 5 minutes. Easy to find on youtube.
I'm actually happy that the alternate ending is now the canonized version. It's far better.
"he will become monster now"
Was never a fan of this movie but THAT scene DESTROYED me. Cried like a little girl. No shame at all.
lil fun fact Will Smith (the Dr Neville) is the legend the mutains tell each other about, he like a scary story, one about a human that go around the city in the day light and kidnap them while they sleep to do experiments on, so yes, he is Legend (I am Legend)
Imagine these princesses in wild nature
Yo se perfectamente como es ese dolor 💔
Sabemos como se siente.....y no se siente bonito....
I still can't belive people destroyed Will life for a fucking slap... Meanwhile Ezra just did The Purge and nobody cares🤡
One of the few scenes that broke my daughter as weve been doong horror movie weekends
that made me giggle... I just picture your daughter, sobbing, looking at you with tears in her eyes and saying "I thought this was supposed to be a horror movie!" 😁
More or less lol, I had to pause the movie so she could squish our pup.
Will Smith was amazing in this movie, should have got Oscar back then
To twist the knife further, if you go by the alternate ending, and why wouldn't you, it is very likely Dr. Neville killed the dog for nothing.
👌 good stuff

wow, that score. beautifully sad, really sets a mood. 💔
Espectacular película 💯 aunq dicen q habrá una 2da parte pero quién sabe .
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Im from Croatia, and the dogs name Sam,on Croatian means "alone"
I've personally experienced plenty of loss in my 57 years.... friends, family, acquaintance. The most devastating loss I've ever endured was having my most loyal, loving, best companion in my life die in my arms. I literally inhaled his last exhale. You are forever missed "Jazz" 10/11/2011.... until we meet again.
What pissed me off was that Will's character was able to get on his feet all this time and if he had limped/hopped instead of crawling, Sam would have survived. Considering that night was coming, adrenaline and the desire to survive was immediate so there was no excuse.
The hard part for me, Sam=Samantha.
😭😭😭😭
He had no other option he would’ve turned into a zombie
Do you mean the dog or him? Because he's fully immune to the virus from both airborne and physical contact. The dog is only immune to airborne.
Seeing Dasha cry crushes my soul.
So, basically, you can't watch anything she reacts to.
@@prollins6443 Leave her alone. LOL
This movie didn't need to go as hard as it did
This hit SO MUCH HARDER in the film. In the short story, he randomly found the dog and it showed infection after two weeks. This is one of the few adaptations that made GENIUS changes to the source material.❤
I still recommend reading it, though. It's short, and very different from the film. No explosions. No NYC. But the infection is straight up Vampirism, and the end has A TOTAL OPPOSITE meaning for the title.
👁️👄👁️
i didn't know that. i agree.
You make me back yesrs ago
Sure, this scene is devastating.
😢😢😢😢😢
😂😂don't get why anyone who cry at this
Saddest fucking moment in any media ever.
Also don’t forget he had to do this shit on his birthday
😭😭😭😭😭😭
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Now there’s no one left to slap
Even sadder when you realise Sam was short for Samantha. 🥺😭
Can u please do School of Rock next? I'm talking the part when Jack Black is forming the band with the class 🤘🎸
Reallyt knocks you for six when you realise the dog is a female and not a male!! All the time he's being calling 'Sam' 'Sam', and then when the dog is injured he goes 'Samantha'!!
Such a diabolically brilliant way to kick the viewer in the teeth one more time during a horrible tragedy.
Old Yeller ain't got shit on this scene
Sad that sam could make it to the sequel 👔👕👑
Will Smith is a fantastic actor...Ah what a pity
Yep...
he'll be back
@@YoureMrLebowski Hopefully healthier and happier
Still is
Why did I do this to myself.
Wow. They might want to stay away from Seven Pounds.
🇧🇷👋❤I am legend
no one feel nothing for zombie dogs dead 😑
i hadn't thought of it that way.
I saw this movie on New Year's Day in Theatre and I still said to the person I went with that I did not want to watch it because I thought something would happen to the dog and when this scene happened, it felt like my heart was torn out - I was so angry with that person and since then I never watched this movie again. I did not even watch this mash up, I cannot get myself to watch this 💔💔
awww that is soo sweet. it is a tear jerker. have you ever seen Hachi: A Dog's Tale?
@@YoureMrLebowski I actually saw Hachiko with a colleague in theatre on New Year's that year it came out and we were both so heartbroken we could hardly walk out the theatre. We sat in our seats after it finished and just cried. When the people came to clean up for the next viewing we had to leave but we couldn't even talk about it without crying, for days. I have the DVD as well, but have never watched it since then. I cannot get myself to watch it again. The same with Eight Below, (this one not in theatre and not on a New Year's day luckily), and I cried for at least 4 hours after it finished and I also have the DVD but cannot get myself to watch it again. 💔💔
that's actually funny that you have the dvds.
Hehehe, true 😄
Lmao good grief these women are hilarious. 😂
