After watching Stygian from Manly and learning that it was made 5 years ago really shows that the creator knows how to mindfuck the player with this sequel.
He probably had a "perfect" ending in mind where you destroy the mansion and the creature in fire but that entire storyline got cut. Probably for a sequel instead.
It’s kind of confirmed in a Cat in the Box Devlog that the main character for Stygian (the blue haired man you’re playing) is named Cherkov. Just a fun fact to point out.
The only unused CGs I can find anywhere is one that shows Girl finding the big pile of bones from a different angle, and a variation of the picture frame in the cult leader's office that was meant for a seemingly unimplemented easter egg. Nothing too interesting
@@ForgoneMoose really? I swear manly said there were unused cgs that were in the files but unused because they seemed too gorey for the game...Maybe I'm mistaken
I saw your comment under Manly vid, are you really a translator? I want to contact the author if he wanted a Polish translation, but I can't find a way
I just DMed him on Twitter, he's @Mitenbets. He speaks enough English that he can understand requests, but it would probably be best not to expect him to help you out with anything beyond just giving you the okay. He seems to like the idea of people making translations of his games as long as he doesn't have to do any of the work himself and you make sure to link to his blog wherever you end up uploading the finished product.
@@Phantom-el6oe You need to decrypt the games files to be able to open it up in the editor. You can find a decryptor by just searching something like "RPG Maker VX Ace decrypt" . I can't really help you beyond that.

One question: Are you going to do an English Subtitle of the recent video Gustav did, titled “VATSUG 2020”? It seems like a comedy work featuring every characters who has appeared in Gustav’s games. Last part was funny as hell though lmao. Here’s the video: ua-cam.com/video/oHLmrOedW7E/v-deo.html
I looked through the game and think I found at least the large majority of them? Honestly, ManlyBadassHero demonstrated most of them. He missed an extra flashback scene of Girl asking Sister for the scooter, the easter eggs for naming yourself "Silenthill" and "Biohazard", a second possible phone call with a different friend, the newspaper at the top left of the starting area, and the time paradox in the second chase, just off the top of my head. He demonstrates just about everything else that I found. There's some other unimplemented stuff, like a hard mode that made stamina drain faster, the killer/eye monster follow you through doors faster, removed some hints for puzzles, and removed some camcorder tapes and stamina refills. There's also an unused feature that made drawers and such randomly give you either a tape, a chocolate bar, or nothing, instead of the items being deterministic. Finally, there's a weird wraith looking sprite standing just off screen in the true ending, which I think is another reference to STYGIAN. Might be more that I just didn't look hard enough for though.
@@ForgoneMoose I know this is a year old, but if you're ever interested in revisiting Cat In The Box then video documentation of these secrets would be heavily appreciated! Thanks for what you have shared thus far!

Pretty neat, shame it got dropped. Maybe he did not want such an obvious strong link between Stygian and this.
