Very nice sense of drama to have gone in with the Flame Demon/Giant Bat/Succubus set up, as well as full Dark equipement. Black Panther makes this fight so much more enjoyable though.
Not really. Equipment doesn't affects Soma's attribute status. Only the weapons affect the attribute. Soma is like a character that doesn't has an attribute. Julius, from the other side of the coin, is programmed to be a "holy type boss". This means that holy attacks are pretty not so effective against him, but dark attacks are his main weakness. Problem with Julius is that he is also programmed to be resistant TO ALMOST EVERY OTHER ATTRIBUTE, so the only viable way to produce damage against him is with dark attacks. Mostly what causes that Julius is a force to be reckoned by is that his high level and stats pack a punch, also that he spams a lot of attack in screens, so is hard to move around.
@@ryanprower4246 Edit: Julius has indeed other Tolerances, like Poison, animal/beast and petrification, he has no weakness however, the Darkness Based weapons are simply hard hitting in general, you can simply do the same with the Dragon Slayer Arsenal, they too deal more damage to him than Glaimh Solais simply because Big J is tolerant to Holy which is not an Attribute the Dragon Slayer Swords have.
Ahhh the memories, I remember playing this game for the first time and when Julius came out after entering the boss room I was like "Oh shit" and then the dialogue went on and I thought "Well maybe he's here to warn me about the coming danger" and when he said "Prepare to die" I went "Oh fuck..." Battling against him using dark-type armor and a low level can be a nightmare. One of the most enjoyable fight against a Belmont I had at the time, and the music made the battle feel exhilarating to play.

I used the Handgun, dealing like 4 of damage and using the Flame Demon Soul and Rune Ring. Took me 15 minutes lol
