Thank you, turning 60 this year , grew up 80s , given a second hand keyboard and working my way thru it as a new beginning. Left hand still won’t talk to the right but I have mastered the notes

Francesca. THIS!!! Was so helpful. I am the keyboardist/singer for a classic rock band across the pond in Lexington (Very English) Kentucky. I was playing 1-3-5 chords throughout. So I watched the lesson for the right hand, and the song came to life!! Thank you so much for breaking it down for us lesser keyboard warriors! Subscribed and a lifelong fan.
Your level of talent is something I hope to achieve one day. I'm not a professional musician so I only practice in my free time, but wow -- lol, I've got so much to learn. (I've only been playing for 2 years.) Thank you so much!
Now I'm able to learn how to play this iconic bit(plus wearing out pause/rewind). Thanks for making another great, easy to understand video Francesca! Pretty voice, btw!
Thank you so much for this excellent tutorial! At first, the song seemed very daunting and complicated - but after watching your video and practicing over the last 3 days, I am playing error free at 100 bpm!!!
I decided not to as it's VERY repetitious with it only being made up of 2 sections, so didn't feel that a full play-through was necessary. I do do this in many of my other tutorials though. Also I'm not a covers channel, it's all about piano education here!
I learn more from you then my piano teacher. I'm 55 and just learning. I do play drums but piano is a passion. Time for a new teacher. Do you have courses? Tim
Hey!! You’re tutorials are so amazing thanks again for all of these you helps so many people gain confidence in their musical abilities!! - like me 😄 could you do “Put Your Records On” by Corinne Bailey Rae?
Hi Francesca, loving your tutorials. Do you know 'Running home to you' by Grant Gustin? My 10 year old would love to know how to play this ☺ Thank you!
Any tips on developing the hand indigence to play the syncopated(?) rhythm? I keep playing the leading bass notes on the 4 and 4& instead of the the 3& and 4.
on that last bit of the first turn around if you add an Eflat in the middle then drop down as you do it sounds more like the track, could be wrong am only going off my ear.
Hi Francesca, Do you have the chords and lyrics for Don't stop believing? I don't see the link? Also can you teach us Beth by KISS and Sister Christian - NIght Ranger? You are the BEST!!! Love your tutorials!!!
Its not that I dislike the video its just that it is not the written version by journey. There are four chords in the verses being used not three. What point would an E major key be if we never use the D sharp in our right hand?
Wow! Nice voice! And the laugh is pretty too! =D But... Maybe U forgot the part of the G# for the right hand. I think it sounds like (B D# B). What U think? Thanks to point me in the right direction!
She is omitting the D sharp in the right hand. There are four chords in the verse. She should simply do another video and change it to the correct piece.
It’s not a piece it’s a song. I figured this out from memory and obviously misremembered a small change. Probs won’t remake it for such a small human error 👍🏻
For what it's worth, if you're in a band, you could not play the octaves on the left hand; on the live videos you can clearly see the bass player is doubling the bass line with the piano!!! OR if you're on an electronic keyboard/synth, just have the same tone going on twice at one octave apart. Heck, if you're by yourself, add the bass guitar to the lower note with a split and you'll be amazed! Yeah, I'm lazy.
Hi there Miss Bitesize. Your piano tutorial was very good. But Jonathan only plays piano until the lyrics 'for a smile they can share the night, it goes on and on etc...' then there is a string part. Yes it is the same chords from the same chord progressions. But Jonathan is only playing intervals on some of that. I mean just two notes, not even a triad. It is a bit deceiving to me. The string patch is what I would really like to have demonstrated. Thanks anyway. Be Well. Danny
What do you mean why didn't I teach this in person...? I teach this VERY clearly, breaking down the sections, with added notes on the top screen. It's not really aimed at beginners.

Just a small town girl
Livin' in a lonely world
She took the midnight train going anywhere
Just a city boy
Born and raised in South Detroit
He took the midnight train going anywhere
A singer in a smokey room
A smell of wine and cheap perfume
For a smile they can share the night
It goes on and on and on and on
Strangers waitin'
Up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searchin' in the night
Streetlights, people
Livin' just to find emotion
Hidin', somewhere in the night
Workin' hard to get my fill
Everybody wants a thrill
Payin' anything to roll the dice
Just one more time
Some'll win, some will lose
Some are born to sing the blues
Whoa, the movie never ends
It goes on and on and on and on
Strangers waitin'
Up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searchin' in the night
Streetlights, people
Livin' just to find emotion
Hidin', somewhere in the night
Don't stop believin'
Hold on to that feelin'
Streetlights, people
Don't stop believin'
Hold on
Streetlights, people
Don't stop believin'
Hold on to that feelin'
Streetlights, people
Thanks!

Would you please do a full run-through/cover at the end so we can just enjoy you playing it once over too? 🙏💕
I decided not to as it's VERY repetitious with it only being made up of 2 sections, so didn't feel that a full play-through was necessary. I do do this in many of my other tutorials though.
Also I'm not a covers channel, it's all about piano education here!
If you would like to reach the wider audience…pls do the cover, too it’s still piano education, why not? We appreciate … but no pressures, Francesca!
Thank you.

Thank You!! Good video but second to the last chord in second series is wrong. Should be B D# B in RH when Left is G#
Already aware; I made this video from memory and obviously forgot that it changed there. Serves me right for not checking first!
Second time around the right hand goes to the D# as opposed to the E that you’re playing in the third chord
Already aware, please see previous comments thanks!
How do you recommend practicing for the larger hand stretches?
Hey, thanks again for your incredible lessons! I can't see the chord structure included in the links, would it be possible to add them?
nice my friend!! alex here ! Brasil!
Musically Soulful !!! you are !!!
🙏
greatest love of all by whitney houston please :)
can u please teach us to play wings of salvation by thr3 (song can also be found in ranimator)
Maybe I'm wrong but at 0:18 wouldn't it be better a D# instead of an E
Yes, please read other comments. I made the error of playing this from memory instead of double checking it first 👍🏻
@@BitesizePiano I didn'd read all comments but one thing is sure, you are a great teacher. I like the way you explain. Tks
Please do crocodile rock by Elton john

I missed out the D# by mistake, I'm already aware...whoops! My fault for thinking I already knew how it went from my 'memory' of it ;)
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.
Do Alicia Keys "If I Ain't Got You".
Would love to serenade my girlfriend with it 10/10🤘🏻🙏🏻
Wow! Nice voice! And the laugh is pretty too! =D But... Maybe U forgot the part of the G# for the right hand. I think it sounds like (B D# B). What U think?

The two g sharps in a row is incorrect. It should be played one g sharp then g sharp up an octave

It does say on the thumbnail, description etc that it’s just the piano part
Gosh I wanna learn to play this so bad but my hand is too small 😩😩😩😭😭
Same lol
Any glee fans here?
pause the video at 15:25 lol
Seems monotonous but can be useful exercise.

Hi, youre playing a wrong chord with your right hand
Already aware that I miss something out (read previous comments), thanks! I did this tutorial from memory instead of listening to the song
