What an awesome use of space.. Those microphone hooks!
I'm hooked on your studio tours. I learn something new in each one. If you are ever in Fort Wayne to visit Sweetwater, look me up. I'm 10 minutes away.
when i studied; we use to screw the clips of 57's to broomsticks and stored them vertical... cables were still attached to the snake. i'm now realising it's hard to explain. anyway cool idea!
Kind of cool and kind of lame at the same time. A little too I'm a hip Millennial Style. Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to go have some avocado toast.
Hi, Byllee here from www.PoleHuggerMusic.com We have something we think EVERY studio, musician & Podcaster NEEDS. Please allow us to send you a free sample
and if you LOVE it, maybe mention us. If not, we'd love to hear from you. We worked hard to perfect the Pole Hugger and Pole Hanger so that everyone has a
place to safely keep their expensive headphones. Just email me (Byllee) at INFO@PoleHuggerMusic.com and I will send one out asap. Thanks for the support!
Man, i love this studio! I have a 2019 Mac Pro myself as well. Mine is also with 16-cores and while i was thinking of going with 192GB of ram, i really felt that i could do with 96gb at that moment in time as well. To this day, didn't encountered any problems. I do run a lot of plugins though, so i might hit the limit one day. 😂
192 is plenty. This is the configuration i was recommending to fellow music producers/mastering etc... together with the 16-core cpu. I wouldn't go any lower to be honest. Anyway, i love that he used the rack Mac Pro as well. It's tucked away nicely in that rack! I really love the look of it! 😍 Well done! 😎
The Adam Scott energy is strong with this one
Are we having fun yet!??
Literally was about to make a comment saying this and then this is the first comment I saw. Yes.
I was going to say. This is Ben Wyatt’s cool younger brother
Wife actually approved that I can have a home studio when we buy our first house in a couple months! I’m pumped!!
🔥🙌🏼
ew... don't ask her. tell her what ur doing
Yeah cause I’m in a loving relationship with someone where we talk about what we’re doing with the house that we are both paying for. I’m not living in my mother’s basement like some of you people. Lmao
Whatever, I know what I got, and I’m happy. I really don’t need anything from you guys lol. Thanks for the concern, though.
bro, don't mind the single, no love getting loners. A good man knows we need approval before making household changes.
best studio tours on the internet. always looking forward to mondays now
No one else really ever talks power conditioning. More than just a "vibe" this guy is a pro
Wow! This is the definition of RICH! So cool!
A man after my own heart - super clean, well thought-out, and CABLE MANAGEMENT! 😁👊🏻
Another banger, Andrew!
Legend!
❤
Went to the Diamond Pro website, and listened to some mixes. Not sure how much they had
to do with the recordings in their listed discography as far as mixing/mastering etc, but the mixes didn't sound nearly as good as i would expect with that level of gear. Quite a few modern country recordings, and none of them even begin to approach the level of quality i hear coming out of the big Nashville studios. However, i appreciate that they list their rates on their website, and they are VERY affordable.
Thank you for your feedback and honesty! We work very hard to produce absolutely top-level quality for our clients, and listeners. If you have any recommendations at all, in regards to gear/tonal accuracies/and specifics, please let us know. Thank you!!
Love the control room/kitchen vibe. It makes sense that the two most essential spaces should be best friends.
2:41 I love how as he says “you got a room there that you do a lot of work in” *Is the bedroom* lol
Truly impressive. This is definitely one of my favorite tours. The gear (THAT COMPUTER), desk, design etc. is all top-notch. Great work.
Couldn't agree more!
I love the bit o honey and Tootsie rolls.
Have to represent the Sweetwater Candy :)
I really like this channel. I realize it got me hooked when I started to watch it whenever i'm on UA-cam 😀
Sweetwater is rad, this studio is rad, this video is rad!
Outstanding! Top quality and absolutely beautiful. A 'real' studio has nothing on this place.
Super good vibes here, very impressive.
Thanks for watching Layla!
Might be just me but the little "sweetwater" and "made by.." comments with the cuts were pretty funny lol
Nice, cozy atmosphere. Must be joy to work there, reminds me of the early days of Swedish Cheiron. Thanks for the video
Such a beautiful studio 100. Great video. Really like this series.
A few more weeks before I close on my first house. I finally get a dedicated treated studio room. I'm stoked!
Congrats!
I’m actually doing an album with this studio right now. Can’t even tell you how awesome and efficient this guy is. 10/10, can’t wait to start work on the next album!
Peter Mckinnon vibes, as always. Loving these studio tours :D
Sweetwater is awesome! I somehow had a power surge jump my surge protector AND my power conditioner which bricked my 500 series chassis. They were able to send me a return label. Send the unit back and receive credit for the value of the unit, so I could buy a new one.
Yeah they rule
That Solid State Logic board is awesome.
i just love these videos! you find some quality studios and quality people, it's quite refreshing
Glad you like them!
Im from Portugal this Videos are fantastic ! Im Thinking build a home Studio in my attic house or Loft. This Videos with a Tour in Home studios are Fantastic! Thanks. Help lot if People
Simply Amazing!
I agree about sweetwater.
I really love you'r tours. Every studio tour inspires me a lot. Thank you for your hard work
This is just like a Dream......Magnificent
ahhhh shit.... lol THIS IS INCREDIBLE!!!!! Diamond Productions, Stone Baby Sound, both such incredible and creative ways to convert a home into a fully functional and professional looking space. I am a huge fan of the entire home studio builds. Thanks for the great videos Andrew!
Thanks!!
Hey... nice monitors 😉
They are GORGEOUS.
We agree ;) Thanks guys!
I love the sound of coffee machines when editing snares. 🤣
I say this after every video, but this is my favourite studio yet.
Very cool like home stuff.. look into the Atc speakers. You won’t to be disappointed
I’m a bit late to this one, but this is one of the most incredible studios you’ve shown! Well thought out and executed. Definitely some ideas I’m going to steal for my ONE room home studio. Haha.
Glad you enjoyed it!
This is awesome! Love that you traveled for this one. Represent Charlotte area! I thought I recognized that logo straight away. Sick.
You do a great job Andrew, props to you man
Thanks!
Love sweetwater and my rep Bart. Just had my scarlet 4i4 go out and was able to get a brand new one under warranty!
This one is a great tour, everything explained well!
This is amazing and inspiring. The only thing that'd suck is if the landlord decides to sell the place out from under the tenant. That has happened to me before.
It's a house. He probably owns it.
He must likely owns it ...
He’s renting
@@AndrewMasters well the build-out itself is not that extreme if he takes all of his stuff out it's just a nice house.
Anyone else watch these while mixing/producing 😂 Ik I shouldnt but I can’t stoooop lol. love the vids!
It's so interesting hearing the room change when you walk from room to room with this setup
You should see the studio I grew up going to. It was a full on production studio in a tiny office building. A room for everything that was filled to the brim with the most up to date equipment and computer gear available, upgraded regularly. Now that I’m older and know how much all that crap costs it’s insane to think about. I mean these guys would buy the highest end Mac for the receptionist.
At least an M1 Air :) Thanks for watching!!
Andrew, thanks! Cool studio!
They seem like great guys to work with! And such an awesome setup!
And in our "Worshiping Of The Gods" segment.....all hail the Furman voltage regulator.
Could you possibly do a video on space management and stuff? I’m just getting into recording my own music and I’ve noticed that when I’m doing it, everything seems to be super cluttered. The big thing is all the mic cables all over the place. I just want to see how you run everything to get it out of the way.
Perfect collection of equipment; and breathable airspace 🤙
Another dope tour of another dope studio!!! I don't quite understand the statement about the "U87's" though. Those Avlex mics are certainly meant to be a U87 knockoff, and they definitely did not use any real Neumann components. They used to sell for under $200 brand new, and came out in that wave of cheap Chinese-made condensers (Marshall/MXL, MCA, 797 Audio, etc.). So unless these specific mics were completely gutted and replaced with real Neumann guts.....yea they're just cheap knockoffs and calling them "Neumann's with a different name" is a far reach. But hell, with a studio this nice, call em whatever tf you want lol.
Avlex are a company related to Superlux. Definitely a clone.
My head spins just thinking about how involved it must be to wire all this gear up. Damn.
I have 2 JBP (JB Player) semi-acoustic electrics. These are very good guitars! I play them as much as my more expensive Fenders, etc. Combined, I think I paid about $300 total on ebay going back a few years.
Can you start covering the computer chairs they have?
What are the odds of bumping into ur page while in the process of planning a new studio build. Lots of inspo’s and advice here - will be binging the rest of your vid. Keep at it! Subbed :)
Some people are made of money!
Hello Michael, This is Travis Motley, owner of Diamond. Thank you for commenting! I do want to reassure you that not one bit of this is money-made, or financially given/gifted. This is 100% hard work, and not one bit of it is easy. I have dedicated my life to helping people with music. To help dreams come true. And to also share transparency and honesty, but not while sacrificing anything professionally. Everything you see in this studio tour has been paid for, by hard work, passion, patience, and a whirlwind of life. But again, I do appreciate you commenting and sharing your honesty. Take care - Travis.
wow
Another One!!!
Nice, v good space usage.
Love the Mac on a Rack!! 😎
Don’t drop that coffee cup LOL
I’m catching up on the studio tour videos. Thanks as always 👍🏻
This one was EPIC!
Best cymbals imo
23:59 Hey, I'm curious about his monitors, he's got them very close to the wall and like half of them has treatment behind them and the other half have the window...?
Pretty cool 🌳
damn! that intro had me boppin!
Outrageous
Epic studio! Amazing.
Explain to me how that mic wall was done. Looks like just pegs/dowels and then some sort of hollow mic clip to slide on. I'd love to build one of those but wonder what the components are.
2x6x5 plywood, 1/2” dowel rods (cut down to 3 or 4” pegs), wood glue, sanding, paint, etc. we are posting a video on this exact topic very soon!
@@DiamondProductions I was more wondering what is attached to the mics that slip over the pegs to keep them secure.
EPIC DIY Microphone Display for HOME STUDIO
@@DiamondProductions Awesome. Thanks. Now I need to buy about $200 of Quick release adaptors. They are nearly $18 after tax here in BC.
I’ve seen this studio show up on Instagram a few times and always wished there were more photos. Awesome to actually see it get a full run down!
First one🔥🕊️
boom
Amazing tour! Wow. I don't even live that far from Kannapolis, NC, and I didn't even know this place exists. I really need to improve my networking skills
Hey there, blonde Adam Scott...
Sweet!
I like this guy's vibe a lot. "Painted gold. Because...why not?"
not gonna lie im jealous. beatiful studio
Just get a couple hundred thousand dollars plus a bunch of relatives to give you stuff.
Hey Andrew, did any of the studios you toured feature K&M heavy-duty overhead stands? Seems to me like Ultimate cornered the market in your neck of the woods.
this could be a southpark episode.
Does anyone have any info on that air cooled machine case? Or is it just custom built I Neeeeeed one
He knows stuffs which he is talking.
I have a studio master 16 8 16 2 mixdown , needs a clean up quiten up .. have you found any mods or gotten to it yet ?
What was the name of that enclosed rack with the Mac Pro?!
Thanks for asking! It is the Sound Construction & Supply IsoBox Post 14Rux38
At 14:12 you talked about some kind of headphone preamp box with volume control. Where can I buy those boxes used for headphone extentions with volume control?
"How much rockwall would you like?"
"Yes!"
I absolutely love this guy's setup and studio. Would LOVE to know the full cost of everything: rent, treatment ($2000 or so?), the desk (edit: found out it's about $3,500), the mics, how long it took to configure (wiring / outlet upgrades, etc?).... and how the landlord is cool with it and what their arrangement with him is! I hit up Travis' channel but no reply. Can you reach out to him Andrew? Very curious. I know a lot of people like to keep this stuff secret but it's such a cool, ideal setup. Where does Travis live? Near the house? Does he own the house he sleeps in or does he rent both? Any additional info is GREATLY appreciated. Thanks man!!
Anyone got any info?
killer
I want something like that
Is South Jersey too far for you to travel to? A friend of mine has a sick home studio.
That sweetwater damn candy got melted in a cable box, please, eat it as soon as it arrives!
Ah yeah, the most underrated part of any studio : the bathroom with a custom shower
Gotta have it.
He looks like that guy from parks n rec
Andrew where are you based out of?
"--I got them from my dad's old friend - who's literally old!" 👀👴🏻😭💀⚰👻🤣😂🤣
The guy reminds me of that one guy we ALL knew/know (whether in whatever phase of school; at work; on social media...etc,) whose deadpan demeanor is EQUAL parts pure chitty-asshole, genius of sorts, always acting like he was/is your teacher/elder/boss/"God"/OG/any other authority, whilst being drop-dead HILARIOUS asF without e'm trying! 🤦🏾♂️🤣🤣🤣🤣
Nice atelier, btw
Hymn
fckn beautiful!
What's the model of the casing for his Mac Pro? The one with the heppa filter? Thanks

Nice 👍🏾
Lovely home/studio (not home studio, mind you, this is way beyond a domestic little recording nook) - but, although I hate to be negative, can't not notice the weird "I'm a rockstar and I like myself a lot and can't be really bothered" vibes of the guy, in my personal & professional opinion not the best vibe to give off when wanting to work with creative people.
And a LOT of weird non-facts thrown around pretty clear to spot:
good luck with the laws of physics and the wide vs. long orientation of the room sounding better , or the big glass panes behind the drumkit "redirecting the sound upwards"...
good luck with those midfield Adams firing straight into the back of that big monitor screen...
good luck with believing those Avlex mics are Neumanns with a different badge (Neumann never in their history authorized or sub-let their own, in-house technology and parts)...
and good luck with believing Studiomaster desks were inspired by Neve or sound anything like Neve.
Hmmmm.
Still - plenty of interesting space saving and mains power solutions, and nice video tour!
I appreciate your thoughts, opinions and specific details! -Travis motley (owner)
Am i the only one that gets a Ben Wyatts vibe from the guy ?
Such talent in such a young man!
Thanks GG, he is a young lad.
Thank you for watching GG :)
The best is when he says.." hey guys,, go to work".. and they say.. "GGGGG NO !!!!.". That was so funny...
At first i thought they were just a couple high school kids at moms or a friends house. When the told them to get to work, they responded like high school kids! Haha. I guess i was right
@@ronchorivera Yes.. They are the interns.. jjajajjaa
