This is how watercolor is supposed to look, in my opinion. I hate all those neat artists with sketch lines scattered about. If you're going to paint something just go for it. The mistakes and imperfections more than likely make the piece stand out and truly original.
Everytime I watch this work it still looks like magic, the way you define objects out of what starts out looking like a wrough mess, and you magically shape and light it with reflections. Its amazing how fast you work with the wet paint. When I try it it comes out like a train wreck!
This is my favourite video of all time! Your paintings are amazing. I love your techniques. Fast and loose but in control. Very inspiring. Thank you for sharing your paintings with us. Very much appreciated! I look forward to seeing more in the future. Martin
People who dislike would rather have such an amazing and talented artist explaining his choice of colour, or talk about sable vs synthetic bristles, or why he chose that particular brush for that particular job and all those other helpful tips and pearls of wisdom as he paints.... instead of listening to music.
Absolutely bloody brilliant! Superb! Unbelievable! I thought you could only drag paint around like that if you were working with oils! My last watercolour of a ship on the sea took days of intensive work, but your technique makes the paint and water do most of the work for you. You've inspired me to get out my watercolours and experiment with wet on wet for the first time (I've only ever done wet on dry; too scared to do wet on wet). Thank you very much for posting this.
Great work. This is so much better than any standard photo-realistic picture copy most younger artist tend occupy their time with. You can tell the difference between a master and an amateur. Namely the certain style one only gains after thousands of hours of painting.
Eye candy...absolutely delicious. Although i do wish you hadnt added the dry brush marks toward the end - the wet in wet reflections were stunning and sufficient in themselves.
That is an amazing demonstration and you make what you do look so easy but I am quite sure if I were to try it the end result would be quite different. You are very talented. Lovely!
wow.. that was amazing! I was recently wondering about soaking a piece of watercolor paper and seeing how that would impact my picture--glad to see you do it to show how I should approach it. Thanks!
I absolutely love the simplicity and technique while using the spray bottle. Very done! Thank you so very much for sharing. I will try it this weekend. I have trouble with lighting but if I can, I record and do a video response.
thats simply breathtaking. You make it look very easy but i guess its very hard. Im just starting out but thought this was just amazing. Might be some time before i get to this stage!! Thanks ATVmidlands.
Wow! this is simply amazing, I love to watch painters do this, wish I had the talent and confidence to pull this off. Would be nice for some vocal instructions throughout the process so I could try this! Thanks for sharing!
Wow.When u put on the water mask, i didn't expect it to be that watery. Wet watercolor!

I love watching other artists paint. It's like a drug, but without the negatives. :)
