As for the Nalu, aren't they sort of like the Benee Geserite? As for Prescience I'd often wonder how 0 initiative would be able to see thoughts when stalls would be closer to the mechanic.
Seeing as how the Naalu mechs and other cards are getting redesigned in Codex 3, I wouldn't read too much into relics and stuff until it's revealed at the end of this month.
Iconoclasts could refer to the mechs going against tradition and actually exploring and seeking out relics. Another definition of iconoclasts are ones who defy established traditions and protocols. I know it's a stretch, but there it is.
That's a cool angle. Honestly I think Dane just found this word in a thesaurus and was like "I want to use this" and that's why it's the only Naalu game function that has anything to do with relic fragments. (personal theory)
I know they're not great, but they are one of my favorites. I love weird mind-powers, I like the Naga, and they're matriarchal... I really like the druaa =) .
I'm pretty sure that they do have some form of prescience even if the lore does not directly mention it. Between the "gift of the prescience" and "foresight" abilities, I'm pretty sure the mechanics indicate they do. It is odd that it's never outright stated. Maybe it's a secret of the Naalu that they have and use but is inexplicable to the rest of the Galaxy. What's harder to beat than a prescient psychic foe? A prescient psychic foe that you don't know is prescient.
@@BatteriesNotRequired that's more or less what I think. They have the prescience but don't tell anyone so that it's an even bigger advantage. Since they're already known to be psychic, no one digs deeper.
Counting how many words in their lore texts are describing their "own vision of perfection" -- there is nothing unusual in "Iconoclast" mech. Just as their communicative skills are at it's peak, same way they want to destroy everything that's not "perfect" in their own vision. And if it is in others -- it is basically "false idol" or "icon" for their unspoken (pun intended) "Cult of Perfection".
They are the Barony of Letnev's spy network, embedded all throughout the Galaxy's power centers. We learn about them in the Rex lore, they were part of the Letnev attempt to seize Mecatol following the Sol bombardment.
The species is called the druaa, which is named after their planet. Similar to Martians being named after their planet, Mars. This isn't made very clear in the Lore, but it's pretty clear if you read closely. Likely they had another historical name for their species, but they changed it when they adopted Druaa (the planet) as their home, as yet another way to pretend they didn't come from Maaluuk.
I was under the impression that there was a subservient race called the Druaa. Not sure where I got that from but that was my impression. Like mind slaves.
@@picivyvortac2641 You're probably thinking of the Miashan, a low-sentient race enslaved by the Collective. With the Naalu, the names and everything are so easy to mix up. Honestly, I kinda think Naalu and Druaa were two different names considered for the race, and they both got in somehow!

Big fan of this faction
I get the vibe that the iconoclasm is a “We are the future and we will destroy the past” kind of thing.
That's were I'm at too, which is a vibe I like for the Naalu
Amazing work yall!
I'll give you a shout out at the Grammys when my new band, Sexy Psychic Space Snakes, wins album of the year.
Hows it going? 😅
Great content again. Thank you.
I LIKED THIS VIDEO
THANK YOU
I’m really enjoying your videos. Great work!
I love your videos
Your videos are the best, man. I'll be looking into your Patreon.

@@BatteriesNotRequired you should get one.

Making this video gave me a new appreciation for them, they're more complex than just sexy psychic space snakes now :)
Imo they are on of if not the strongest race, if played right

I like that interpretation, they can see the future, but pretend it's just cuz they're psychic and knew what their enemies were thinking!

Tell me about the Cimm Fenn? I’m only privy to fourth edition lore

@@BatteriesNotRequired interesting! I’ll have to show this to my friend. He loves the Barony.
Wait, so is the race called the druaa or the naalu? And isn’t one of their planets called Druaa? I’m confused
The race and planet are both called Druaa, but Druaa and Naalu are used interchangeable to refer to the race! :)
@@BatteriesNotRequired so confusing
