I really like your list. Very interesting worlds. I always liked the Yssaril homeworld of Retillion and the nebula world of Everra along with the legendary world of Mirage.
@@BatteriesNotRequired I divide the planets between homeworlds and other worlds when I consider my favorites. Thanks gain for the video. Now I know what I'll be doing this weekend with some of my friends. 👍
i made a frog faction! they aren't psychic, but their a guerilla faction kinda like yssaril they could be reskinned to be psychic. also a boom is a chain that's used to deny boats access to rivers, harbors, etc. many of them are defended by towers.
You mention TI has more wacky forms of life than other sci-fi universes. I'd say it's because it's not really a full fledged book/movie, so they just need a couple of pictures and a general description and a short story. If they had to go very in-depth and actually have detailed full story with characters etc, it would become much more difficult to logically and physically support all these wacky life forms they introduce. ;) It's cool that the authors realized the medium gives them this power over traditional sci-fi and used it to its fullest.
Dude! I was saying the same thing about twilight after watching dune 2021 (which I loved). There are many parallels, I'd love to hear what you found in a video.
@@BatteriesNotRequired Nice! Perhaps a random question, but with these high intrigue, back-stabby games, have you ever had real life strife with friends over in-game events?
@@derekburge5294 There have been a few times when playing TI that overly-aggressive plays have lead to hurt feelings, and occasionally "crab bucketting" (where one player throws his game in order than another can't win either), but generally my group is pretty friendly. It helps we have a pretty laid back, cooperative meta, as it prevents a lot of hostility, but there have certainly been instances of hurt feeling. I can't think of any other games this happens in tho...
Ghosts are everyone's favorite? I never got that vibe but maybe I'm just not in those circles. Then again I'm boring: Sol for Life and Nekro in death! (And the independent worlds of Xates!)
Ghost being everyone's favorite is quickly becoming a meme, I think a solid third of the TI fanbase likes them the best. That said, thats only of the vocal people who post online, so maybe the truth is a little different out in real life! :P

You know, reading this reminded me that Evarra definitely was supposed to make the list, so I think I messed up the script somewhere... 😅

Big fan of the phrase "flavor text"

this is so sick, hopes end and garbagio really kicked my imagination
I can see Horizon as a homebrew Planet, give it a Frontier Token as part of the exploration.
I had the same thought, maybe even make it a re-explorable one!
@@BatteriesNotRequired we need some more frontier cards for that. For some reason there was only enough cards for number of empty tiles.
i need more planet lore 🥺

Soon! I'm just getting back into the swing of things, but I hope to finish up that video asap! :)
It was a good movie and you can tell they tried but read at least the first book
Since Dune was mentioned, have you tried the Dune board game? Great fun there.
I got both Dune and Rex recently, but I havent been able to get them to the table yet, looking forward to comparing them though! :)

We also have this curious meta about quann!!! French players here

Right??
Celestial bodies

great video but has too little info about the psychic frogs 0/10000
You're telling me! Give us psychic frog lore, Dane!
You got a like cus you said the words “I really like dune”
What if you replace Quann with Atlas? ;) What would your buddy do? :D
Oh, I've done that, and he quite literally will burn my interstellar empire to ashes as recompense for such an act of war.
Or just make the psychic frogs a playable faction
Fighters with bombardment and 1 capacity that can only be used to transport infantry.
Gamma Eridius, the Neon World

Aaaaaaay! The Psychic Frogs of Gamma Eridius!
I'm actually working on a Psychic Frogs homebrew faction.
