Patronising and completely ignorant of the game - may as well have been describing children having a kick-around in a playground. Tommy Smith played another season before going to Swansea and got another European winners medal but he had a broken foot that was caused at home, he dropped something on it and missed the final. He played in all games up to that. He joined the coaching staff back at Liverpool in 1981 after retiring as a player.
He was also a bloody good footballer too don't forget. Like Souness, the so called 'hard man' title sometimes overshadowed just how good they were technically.
