FAQ:
How long does this bracelet take?
~for me it took about 2 hours, but it can take longer or shorter depending on how long you want to make it
What kind of thread do you use?
~I use DMC cotton embroidery floss. I usually get it from Michaels, but you can also find it at Walmart or on Amazon
What is a wingspan?
~it is the length from your fingertips on your left hand to your right hand. For me it is about 75-80 inches or 2 meters.

This tutorial is amazing!! I’m making a bracelet for my boyfriend and I haven’t made any in a few years, you made this super easy to understand and I can’t wait to finish mine! Thank you!!
Thank you so much! I am happy you were able to make it !!
I want a bracelet too, but making it for myself isnt just the same as getting one gifted
i’m so confused
Hey I know this comment is a year old, but you should try an easier bracelet eg; chevron, stripped or braided! Good luck
Is it just me that on every single middle part of the wave they have to go and rewatch it at 10:47 😂😂
i effed it up 🤩
🤩🥰🥰😂
Girly same 😍🤚
Same
Me too 😂 if only it was possible to share photos of our work in the comments

Its a really goed tutorial i used it for making my bracelet but maybe you should use darker colors because sometimes you dont see the strings.
I agree
Here's an updated tutorial with better colors: ua-cam.com/video/p0jAdcLn3s4/v-deo.html
This tutorial is beyond amazing it is incredibly detailed and easy to follow. I actually managed to do this project as my first time ever making a bracelet like this and I'm extremely happy. Thank you. 😢
Glad it helped!
i havent made a bracelet in about a year and the most i've done is a diamond. The way you explained it was so easy for me to understand. this really helped and it will make for the best present for my best friends :)
Bro it was so satisfying to see you finish the bracelet at the end
Good tutorial, but hard to see the pattern with the string colors on the white background.
thank you for the feedback I will try to make it better it the next video :)
love this tutorial !!! supper easy and simple to follow !! looking forward to do more of your stuff!
Awesome! Thank you!
I finished making this one today, couldn’t have done it without this video, thanks!
Great job! you're welcome
Bracelet #566 is this Greek Wave pattern using 12 strings instead of 11 and I assume this be easier for some people, incase you're interested!
This is so awesome and very helpful!!! Thank you 😁😁
This tutorial was great ty! My bracelet looks so cool.
i’m making bracelets for christmas and my friends picked out this pattern and i’m soooo glad i found this vid!! super helpful thank you 🙏
That's awesome I am glad it helped!!
Thanks for the video! It was helpful. I have one pointer though. When you pick the colors, it was hard to see them because they’re both light pastels and I didn’t know what color you were picking sometimes. Thx!
yes of course, thank you for the feedback
SUPER HELPFULLL!!! ❤️❤️
Thank you so much, helped a lot HAVE AN INCREDIBLE DAY TODAY AND TOMORROW AND FOREVER
Thank you SO much glad I could help!!
Oml thank you so much bro. This is my third attempt with this pattern and you explained it so well. Thank you 🤍
Glad it helped!
never again will i be trying this pattern lol. im picking out every single knot.
If you're having any trouble you can always message me ;)
Thanks so much for this tutorial!! I followed along and thanks for the clear explanation of the knots
Glad it was helpful :)
Thank you! I'm going to go try this now😂
Yay! I’m sure it will turn out amazing!
This was literally my first ever bracelet and with your tutorial I picked up how to do it so well! Thank you so much for this super clear explanation! I'll be definitely watching your videos again! ❤️
I am glad it helped you! :)
Love your tutorial ❤ you explained the steps very well !!!
thank you, glad it was helpful!
great tutorial! made one for me and now am making one for my grandma as well because of how much she liked it!
I'm glad you liked it!
at first you made me regret my life, but it got better👍 my first two waves look really cursed tho
Just Really Love It ❤❤❤❤❤
Tysm you are so helpful explaining the knots
Thank you!!
I am a beginner and you make this seem so simple so I could make it thankyou🤣
thank you sooooo much!!!
Mine looks a little different. 😅 I will keep practicing. Thanks for the tutorial.
How long did you cut your strings? I can’t pick it up from the video
Otherwise everything is super well explained! It would be better to use more contrasting colours like white/dark blue for the demonstration (as someone already mentioned in another comment) ^^
“wingspan!” so basically from your fingertip on your left hand allllll the way to the finger tip on the right hand holding your arms out! i think it’s usually between 65-70 inches!
@@savannar3016 ohh I see, thank you so much!
Amazing video, my bracelet came out great😁🤩
Great job!
my strings ended up super uneven at the end -- one got really short and the others stayed longer. do you have any idea what's up? is that normal?
u didnt explain this good at all lmfao
Real
I honestly found it easy but I recommend having one color she has so you understand better I made one with blue and js translated in my head pink to green
best tutorial I ever seen so far !!!
thank you!
This tutorial is amazing. I ended up with half of a bracelet because two of the threads were too short whereas others were still long. Did I do something wrong? Or do I just start with longer threads altogether?
13:59 // what do you mean join two blues? a forward knot? a back ward knot? i’m really struggling
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I really wanted to make this pattern but had no idea how to, you made it fun and easy for me! The only thing that was kindof annoying was that i couldn’t see the difference between your pink and blue so i had to listen really well, i don’t know if it’s your fault tho bc my phone is very old so maybe the colours don’t look the same on my screen.
I will definitely watch your other videos to!!!💕💕💕💕
thank you! I made another tutorial with better colors and audio: ua-cam.com/video/p0jAdcLn3s4/v-deo.html
Love your tutorials everyone else is so confusing and tou make it simple
Awh thank you so much❤️
uh the “just a blue over blue” wasn’t very helpful. i never was able to tell which strings i was supposed to use
fr!! everything is so unclear
This was sooo helpful!!!!!!
Also do you do collabs with other youtubers?
Thank you, I am so glad you liked it!!!
I am not right now, but I am thinking about doing it in the future!
Island Bracelets ok! I would love to do one in the future! If you could just say my name in your channel that would be great I am also a small UA-camr with like 54 subscribers and I would love some exposer
@@mridinideo9847 no one wants to collaborate with you ha!!!
Cute!
thank you!
Eventually I will attempt this
do you have a tutorial for the last bracelet on your wrist or the pattern number?
I didn’t really understand how you measured the strings? Was it basically the length between your hands if you stretch out your arms?
Yes! Hold the one end of the string in one hand and stretch out your arms until it crosses your whole body.
hi what can i do if my string at the top is too short to braid?
the bracelet looks amazing tysm! though idk how to finish it? like once you have finished the pattern how do you knot it at the end?
Hi! Once you are done you can tie a knot like we did at the top of the bracelet. From there you can choose what kind of ties you would like. Here is a video on how to do different ties: ua-cam.com/video/HEG6-7PWrek/v-deo.htmlsi=aTc8GtJR2pHcVOI6
after that just tie it on your wrist with a normal tie and you're all set!
your tutorial was great and i understand it but i don’t know how to read from the bracelet book i can only memorize
you need to turn up the volume and make the video quality better
Aw man i wasted so much string :( for some reason this tutorial was so hard to follow, i couldnt see what type of knot you were doing or what they meant or which string was supposed to be base and stuff. i give up string bracelets.
ok so what do i do if the threads aren’t long enough? I didn’t think i cut them too short but here i am and I don’t wanna restart the whole bracelet…i am halfway done.
Can i just tie new threads to the short ones? Idk if it would look stupid bc maybe the knots would show bc they’re bigger:(((
You can tie more strings on! Then when you are done you can go back and cut off the leftovers from the knot
what’s the bracelet called shay’s on the bottom of your wrist? the one with the pink and navy blue
It doesn't have a name that I know of, but its kinda like a chevron that's mostly white with some blue and pink in it! I can make a tutorial on it if you would like?
why did you cut that "extra" pink string and how was it placed on the bracelet? Was it also folded in half or left half the size of the rest???
Since there is six of one color and five of the other, for the group of five you would do two long ones folded in half (which is four total strings) and then the extra is half the size of the long ones. The way you add it in is when you tie the knot at the top you just line it up with the others. Hope this helps let me know if you have any questions!
omfgg i do not have the patience for this😭😭 im abt to rio my hair out
that was a joke😋🤭 it actually looks very pretty now
After you've finished each forwards or backwards knot are the strings supposed to swap places?
yes!!
@@lucyguest7709 thank you 🙏
Can you use the bracelet pattern and do it in any order, or do we have to do the order you went in? Also the video was so good, I actually understood everything so thanks
You can start in different place if you go off the pattern, however, it's harder to start in the middle of the wave than inbetween
How long does this take to finish?
i'm kind of confused, was the length of each string your "wingspan" or was it half of the wingspan? because you folded the strings in half to create two from one long string.
She took the whole wingspan and folded it in half for less cutting and measuring
@@jordenalexis3106 so basically each string was half the wingspan
@@maggiefeng1740 yep
I don’t know if anyone else had this issue but I had to stop mine at 8 waves because some of the strings got too short to carry on? Unsure if I measured them out wrong but I think I followed the instructions correctly
Do you have a small, medium, or large wrist? (And great tutorial btw will be subbing.)
Thank you! I would say I have a small wrist it is 6in/15.5cm
Pls would u make a tut for the 4th one from the top which is all light colored i love itttt
Thank you so much!! I will definitely add it to my list of tutorials to make
is it possible to make this row by row following the pattern?
Yes, when you finish a wave just restart the video and do it again
Yes it is!
What type of string do you use? It looks so nice
I use DMC
Hi, love your videos, its just that its video volumeit a bit to low and can't really hear you properly, but keep doing what your doing. Love you work👍❤
Thank you so much! The audio on my newer videos should be better :)
This shit was harder than algebra
this tutorial was easy to understand, and ive done all the knots correctly but my waves look absolutely nothing like waves lol, any tips/help? (btw, this was my second wave)
same, mine just looks messy :/
Same here. I'm wondering if doing row by row instead of doing a bit here and a bit there would be easier. I'm pulling apart AGAIN.
hi! question. . . on a pattern like this, with the same color being knotted into itself, how do you tell what string is the base string in the pattern?
It actually doesn't matter which is the base string as long as both strings are the same color!
If you would like to be specific: If you're doing a forward knot the base string will be on the right. If you're doing a backward knot the base string will be on the left.
@@IslandBracelets thank you! :)
2:53 is when they start (just for a time stamp)
how to you get 5 on the pink side if its doubled
Do two long strings, fold those in half for four. Then measure one more, that is half length so that you have 5 total. I hope this helps!
I love the tape :D I just use boring blue tape :(
Thank you!
Everytime i finish the first wave and move on to the next i mess up idk why
Que linha você usa?
I got lost at how much string i need💀
i literally can’t
Thank you! You explained this really well!
thank you ❤️❤️❤️
I'm greek and we are doing a thing in science so I picked Greece if I win they will play the anthem, I will wear this if I can figure out how to make it
that sounds like a good idea!
Thanys this tut is rlly good i tryed to read the pattern but i got confinused
you should use colors that are easier to tell the difference because i cannot tell which color is which
So easy to understand, could be easier if u used more kontrasty pigmented colours but perfect explenation🫡
thank you for the suggestion! here's an updated tutorial with better colors: ua-cam.com/video/p0jAdcLn3s4/v-deo.html
Pls tell where should I start after 16:45
3:04 is where the video starts again at that point. Otherwise if you are using the pattern go back to row 1 and start with the knot of the far left side!
10:51 I keep forgetting how to do this part so I keep coming back to it
What kind of string do you use to make the bracelet?
embroidery thread
I specifically use the brand DMC
Next time the Creator should be a little bit more descriptive when what they're showing and to zoom in on what it is likely happening in what way of nodding they are with the bracelet next time
Good job
thank you!
Suggestion - use more contrasting colors next time. I found this difficult to follow visually.
Thanks for the suggestion! I just made an updated tutorial with better colors: ua-cam.com/video/p0jAdcLn3s4/v-deo.html
How long the string is
each string is 30-40 inches long
couple tips - can u put the camera close also don’t assume we all know how to read that knotting paper instruction thing and then do it bc then i had no idea what to do
you are so bling !
lowk so confused with the beginning
nice vid
at the first i thought the yellow one(on the paper) should be four but when ı started the yellow part it needed five
I'm sorry that was confusing! I recently made another tutorial with better colors and audio: ua-cam.com/video/p0jAdcLn3s4/v-deo.htmlsi=GSGRmEshvQJH1wjb
Thats for a tutorial but alot of things coud be explained better
whats things should I explain more? do you have any questions?
i can't see what you are doing because the camera is ti far away than i got lost and didn't know what to do next.
I'm sorry, here's an updated tutorial with quality: ua-cam.com/video/p0jAdcLn3s4/v-deo.html
2:48
this was literally the most confusing tutorial i’ve ever seen in my entire life. i just wasted so much string because i got so confused and messed up so thanks.
im a year late but it really isnt that hard lmfao
I can’t see the difference between either of the colors I don’t even know what I’m doing…
I'm sorry, here's an updated tutorial with better colors: ua-cam.com/video/p0jAdcLn3s4/v-deo.html
This is so confusing
Mine turned out terrible. I couldn’t understand what you were saying and my strings were very off compared to yours. This is a good tutorial but not for people who can’t read patterns or just started. I started about a year ago and can’t figure this out
Thank you for the feedback, I plan on making another tutorial of this bracelet but a little slower and easier soon!
I dont know where to start huhuhu pls help
Sorry you're having trouble! Here's an updated tutorial that might be more helpful to you: ua-cam.com/video/p0jAdcLn3s4/v-deo.htmlsi=6JmZC-KUuMWYRUf5
