Thank you for making this video. I used to make friendship bracelets back in the 90's (yes. I'm aging myself). There were no complicated patterns back then. All we did were candy stripes and chevrons. My son wanted a 4 leaf clover bracelet for St. Patrick's day. After printing out a pattern, I realized this was definitely more advanced than what I knew. I know this video is pretty old. And, I'm so happy it's still here. Happy Knotting!
i think i figured it out guys!! everybody is calling them “vsco bracelets” because they don’t have friends to give them to!!! edit: some of y’all can’t take a joke💀
Before watching this, I only knew how to make candy stripe, forward chevron, and backward chevron. But after watching this, I can now make anything because I am about to read patterns. Thank you @Katrinaosity for helping me.
This literally helped so much. I'm glad that you went into detail and slowly explained things. I've tried and failed and lost so much string trying to figure out how to read some patterns, so I'm glad I won't have to lose more now!
I stopped making embroidery thread keychains/ bracelets for a while and came to make sure i was doing the knots on my patterns right. I was doing them backwards! Thank you for this😅 it made much better results
Finally a video that explains how the strings end up after doing the knot. I always wanted to know if after one knot the order of the colors in the pair of strings, stay the same as I started or if they switch sides. Thank You!!
u LITERALLY just made my day 😂 I’ve been trying to figure this out for sooo long and have had BraceletBook downloaded but have just used it to look at the pretty patterns 🤪 so thank you sooo much 💗
Oh my goodness! This was so helpful! I've been seeing patterns like this all over the place. I have some familiarity with friendship bracelets, but only the very basics of them. I want to try a slightly more complicated one, but I had no idea how to read the pattern for it! Thank you so much for this tutorial! Now I'm not so daunted by trying the more complicated patterns!! Thank you! Thank you!!
@@ally7609 Firstly, make sure you are following the pattern correctly. If you are, that means that your pattern is a little off. You need to find the row that you are that matches another row from the beggining of the pattern. Or find the part of the pattern that suits well with the end of your bracelet, and then follow it normally. It's a little bit tricky, I hope you understood It. :)
Thank you so much for showing us how to read patterns!!! I always get frustrated and mess up my Bracelets, but now I'm able to create some pretty good looking bracelets! Thank you!!!!! 😆😆😆😆😆😆
Thank youuuu for this!!!! I’m just getting back into friendship bracelets and never learned to read a pattern when I was younger! I only knew how to do like 1-2 types!
Tried so hard doing those complicated patterns while only knowing forward and backwards, now it makes sense why it never worked xD this tutorial is definitely easier when you already know the basics
You do an incredible job at explaining how to follow these patterns. All the other videos out there are not as well explained as yours are. Thank you so much.
I've start doing this cute bracelets in the quarentine, and this video helped a lot because in youtube there only appears some of the simple bracelets and with this patterns you can do a lot of more types of bracelets. Thanks! :)
I’ve been looking at different videos and they just confused me even more.. once I watched this video it helped so much! I can now do so many different patterns thanks so much!!
this video was so amazingly helpful!! ive never made a friendship bracelet before and thanks to the questions i wouldnt have thought to ask that are answered here, i was able to make a 14 string bracelet nicely! thank youuuuu
I CAN IT! really thanks for this tutorial. I coudn't finding tutorial which learn me read patterns and now when im watching your video i know and understand it! THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN YOU'RE BIG!
this is an awesome tutorial. I'm not very good at English, but I can understand your explanation. I am very grateful to you. You provide video tutorials that are clear and easy to understand.
She just explain it. You have to pay attention to strings, if they have the symbols is going into the knots, and if it doesn’t it’s left out. In this case, the white strings in the second are out because it doesn’t have the knot symbols.
Thank you, I knew how to do a forward knot, backward knot, backward/forward, square knot and forward/backward but had no idea how to read patterns. I'd made some bracelets by watching videos but will be nice to read patterns myself ❤
THANK YOU SO MUCH! i am making a business and i saw this anchor design which has one of these paper things and i didn’t know how to read it lol! this helped a lot tho (the anchor is from scoops ahoy from stranger things 3)😂❤️✨ + you gained a new subscriber!
I know you posted this a while ago but this helped me so much!! thank you!! I'm excited since now I might be able to make more complicated bracelets without tutorial videos :) reading patterns was very confusing before but you explained everything super easily, awesome video!! 💞
Omg...THANK YOUUUU!! Lol I'm 37 y.o and can finally read these darn patterns 🤣🤦🏼♀️ I've been making different bracelets for ages and now also with my daughter but if I wanna do a hard one I had to watch a step by step video bc I couldn't figure out the pattern pages 🤣🤣 thank you a bunch!!
I taught myself how to make friendship bracelets when I was about 6 or 7. I'm 40 now. I just never read patterns and tried to figure it out on my own over the years. I had no idea there were 2 additional knots plus patterns! However, I had no idea how to read it lol! Thank you so much for this video because now I'm having fun making bracelets I never would have been able to before. After some practice, I'll watch your tutorials on more complicated patterns.
Thank you for sharing. Your video did answer some of my questions, but I will be trying the Chevron and Candy Stripe patterns first. Thank you, once again.
Great instructions! I learned to do these from friends when I was a kid before the internet. I wanted to pick up the skill again to teach some kids but was super confused by the patterns I found online.
There are a TRILLION bracelet tutorials but I watched this one ages ago before I got embroidery thread and I refuse to watch another bc of how easy to understand you made it!
❤️❤️ Loves this video. I’m just learning, so I appreciate you sharing your knowledge. Please make an alpha pattern video. I need all the first hand knowledge I can get! Thank you!
How neat! I suggest you make a bracelet step by step entirely from beginning to end at completion, which I know would be tedious for you, but very helpful to us beginners following along! Really good directions. I got a little lost when you left at rows 3-5... :)
Thank you so much! This video was really helpful. I knew how to do all the knots but I couldn’t find anything showing me how to read the pattern clearly. I’m going to make lots of complicated bracelets now.
Thanks!! I just figured out how To make chevrons and for bored with them super quick! I wanted to make something more advanced and you really helped :D
omg I love you!! you made a really great tutorial, thank you so much!!! before seeing this video everything was soooo hard for me to figure it out(those patterns) but now it is very clear, thank you again!! 💖💖

Same here. Every knot tutorial just puts them on the same sides as before. That sucks because you can't follow a pattern with that.
Finally someone who can explain this properly. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!
u LITERALLY just made my day 😂 I’ve been trying to figure this out for sooo long and have had BraceletBook downloaded but have just used it to look at the pretty patterns 🤪 so thank you sooo much 💗

Amazing! You are one of the few tutorial video makers who does actual beginner tutorials - clear and easy to understand! So thank you so much:)
this is sooo helpful!!! but once you reach the end of the pattern, if the bracelets not long enough, do you repeat from the very beginning??
Yes! If the pattern repeats itself ( like a bracelet with puppy faces)
You just start again from the beggining. :)
AGMO what if the strings don’t match up like if their in the wrong place
@@ally7609 Firstly, make sure you are following the pattern correctly.
If you are, that means that your pattern is a little off. You need to find the row that you are that matches another row from the beggining of the pattern.

Ok I’m doing pattern #925 and I finished the instructions but it’s WAY to short but I can’t just repeat bc it’s not the same as the beginning HELP
Planet Alice some patterns end with different colors (most arrowheads do) then you wil need te repait the patten only with the different colors
thank you so much! i just ordered some string and i saw these all over pinterest and i had no idea how to read them
Thank you so much for showing us how to read patterns!!! I always get frustrated and mess up my Bracelets, but now I'm able to create some pretty good looking bracelets! Thank you!!!!! 😆😆😆😆😆😆

You do an incredible job at explaining how to follow these patterns. All the other videos out there are not as well explained as yours are. Thank you so much.

This is very helpful. I have a question. When choosing a pattern how can you tell if it will be a 1-2 pattern or not?
You solved the puzzle.

finallyyyy, tysmm !! i'm trying to learn how to make bracelets rn and this is such a great help !!
ok. why would you skip a couple of rows if your trying to learn how to read this
Because she's only showing us how to read each one, she skipped the ones she already showed us to move to the ones she hasn't.
Thank you so much! You explained it so thoroughly and now I finally get it!
Thank you so much! This video was really helpful. I knew how to do all the knots but I couldn’t find anything showing me how to read the pattern clearly. I’m going to make lots of complicated bracelets now.
thank you!!!! i now know how to read friendship bracelet patterns and this will make it so much easier!!!!
