I just found this video and the timing could not be more perfect. Thank you for sharing your journey. I am struggling to get refocused on WW after the stress of moving out of state and trying to get settled in to our new home. Your video has helped me to see that I can just start, do a few small things and keep moving forward.
You really spoke to me as I’m around twenty five pounds over weight as well. I now have back problems so I know that extra weight does not help my back problems so it’s time to get it off. I love your videos and they do inspire me. I started two weeks ago and I’m down 7 pounds. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks, Dawn, and kudos to you on your progress! I think it was a dangerous place for me to be "just overweight". I got kind of complacent about it, and I have to say, I feel a lot better with those 25 pounds gone. You got this!
Happy New Year. I am so glad you are focusing on maintenance because even in meetings we are not well acknowledged. You have a lot of insight and common sense in dealing with weight loss. Thanks for your channel. I don't feel so alone in maintaining. And, I have been a lifetime maintainer going on 5 yrs.
You are so right about this community! I totally believe that I wouldn’t have the success I’ve had without it! I am at 130lbs loss as of last week! My 2yr anniversary of joining WW is January 10th. I am 29 pounds from Onederland! I will get there this year! Thank you for sharing your life and journey with me! Happy New Year! ❤️🎉❤️
happy new year to you and your family. I am a three year lifetime member and have gained some stress weight so fighting to get back. Retirement coming soon and family stress is not helping but I have lucked into a great WW community at my meetings as well as youtube. Thanks for all your thoughts and ideas.
Girl, you're singing my song. I have to get a hysterectomy in December. I hit goal weight in 2018 and then adopted two babies I need to get back on track. I joined yesterday thanks to you. 🤞🏻
I love your channel Mindy. This video sounded like your story is so much like mine. I am also 5'5 the weigh ranges are all the same as yours. My heaviest was 180 and i am currently 166. I have been working the program on my own through the app and the videos inspire me. Thank you for your channel your grocery hauls and what you eat in a day help so much.
I always find it interesting how different we all can look at the same height and weight. I’m 5’ 4” and started at 146, I was just into the overweight category but I’m a bottom heavy person and I was probably a size 12. I’ve been maintaining anywhere from 116-118 or so for the last year and I feel so good. I’m slim for the first time in years. I can feel how much lighter I am and you’re right 5 or 10 pounds even is a lot on our body. Happy New Year to you!
Barbara, you are so right! It's different for everybody. I have noticed how different this weight is on my body at various times in my adult life. I know I am lucky that it is pretty evenly distributed across my body, because spot reduction is really difficult.
I love your attitude that even though you don't have a ton of weight to lose, there is still value in that. And your journey to losing weight/getting healthy is still just as important as someone with 100+ lbs to lose. I feel like I'm in that category where I'm not a person who needs to lose over 100 lbs. For me, 60 pounds is probably the most I could lose to be a healthy weight.
Thanks Mindy! I just started following you and doing WW in June. This is not my first time with WW. It has helped me get my weight under control in the past. I really like this video because I am in the same boat. I have always been "thick" but not overweight/obese. I wear single digit clothing!! I just need to lose 10-20 lbs. but it is hard. I love your tips and suggestions! Thanks for sharing your story!
I’ve always been the same as you in weighing myself right after a few days off track. Like you, I do much better by waiting a few days before weighing, & giving myself that time before stepping on that scale! Also, like you, I’ve been in the “overweight” range, & seem to have spent my life trying to lose 20 pounds! I’ve come within 8-10 pounds of my goal, but never seem to reach it. I’ve tried every diet out there, but WW seems to be the best fit for me. I haven’t been on WW for several years, and the plan is soooo different now! I’m so glad I’ve found you, & hope to lose these dang 20 pounds once & for all!🤞🏼
You can do it, Cathy! I've also tried a few things over the years, and always come back to the WW community. Waiting a few days after our trip paid off for me today. I'm glad I did because the gain was not bad at all (in my opinion).
I'm beginning to think we should keep our fridge in the garage only, not in the kitchen as a constant food source. The ONLY way I have lost weight was when I used the every other day diet. 1 day 500 calories, next day eat what you want within reason. Like don't eat an entire 1/2 gal. of ice cream, but have some if you want it. I'm over 60 and it is much harder the older you get.
Thank you for your informative videos. It’s been so helpful with making a decision on what eating plan to choose. I’m sure there are many other informative channels but so many are loud/in your face/gimmicky. If anyone has suggestions for other helpful and low key channels like this one, please share. I’m new to this but probably will sign up for WW.
Hi Mindy, I have been following you for awhile and find your videos very inspiring. I was looking through your videos and came upon this one. It's now almost end of August 2020. It never hurts to go back and see how others have handled their weightloss journey. I went to an in person WW meeting several times, and the one I went to wasn't all that inspiring but I also did not investigate another one. It may be me too and that I did not have the mind set I needed but I ended up quiting and feeling frustrated with myself. I'm on the fence now about returning. I feel you are a very positive person, and when I complain about how stressful my full time job is, I then realize - she had 3 kids. How much more stressful can that be? I struggle with pre-planning my meals and feel if I could get a grip on that, that's half my battle other than the mental side of weight loss.
Michelle, we all have stress right now, and your stress is every bit as real as mine, so no worries. Yes, meal planning helps a lot. Even if you just make the same few things in the beginning until you get going. Keep it simple! :)
I’m with you on the yoga. I know I would benefit from it greatly I just can’t bring myself to try. Maybe that will be a commitment for me in 2020. Happy New Year 🙂
I also lost around 30#. Not nearly as impressive as 100# and I truly truly admire those folks. But I struggle to keep my lifetime weight and it WAS hard too! And it still is a battle. Meetings are such a bonding.
Linda, I understand. I've actually had several people who have lost a lot of weight tell me that they agree with me...the last 10-20 pounds are a doozy!
I really feel you hit the idea for me - in ww too- I LOVe the community feeling here on youtube- lotsof different ideas- even if we are on different plans- ww community seems really accepting of each other- even when we go up- there arelots of folks who say- you can do this- or try again-etc- ONCe i tried vegan- it did not work for me- becuase hte lack of protein made my hair fall out- but when I was decing to 'leave" those sites or pages- i felt many flks were saying that "i didn't do it right" or blah blah blah- but with ww- it just seems like- even when I make a mess up- like eating tomuch or making poor choices- most replies arekind and friendly- THAT's how i know I liked ww
Check out “Yoga With Adriene” on UA-cam. Lots of wonderful yoga videos. Every January she starts a 30-days of Yoga. She posts a new video daily that builds on what we’ve learned. It’s for all levels and she is so encouraging & helpful. Her voice & presence is so soothing. Her dog, Benji, is often on set with her and is so cute. I’m a runner also but wanted something else to get stronger. After joining her last January, I quickly realized my weak spots! Such great strength in yoga. Great video! Thank you!
Also...the theme this year is “Home.” Yesterday was Day 0 with a short intro video and no yoga. She just explains what to expect. Today is the actual Day 1. Haven’t done it yet but will before the day is over.☺️
I think you're right, Ines. I was thinking about that yesterday while I was at the gym stretching. Nobody really cares, they're mostly just focused on what they're doing. :)
Question: I thought Christians weren't supposed to do yoga. I used to teach yoga but I gave it up. I don't have a problem with stretching but the poses are actually worship to a false God. Anyway that's me.

Thanks, Ash! It gets harder the closer we are to a normal weight. Our bodies just don't like to let go of weight in that range, I think.

Happy new year from the UK. May 2020 be healthy and happy 😁
Thanks, Olive! To you, as well! :)

Bee, your story is really inspiring! You have worked very hard, and stuck with it and it shows! :)

Thanks for the suggestion, I will try to check that out. :)
A class can be intimidating if you don’t know anything. Yoga with Adriene is a fabulous channel. Beginner videos are a great way to get your feet wet.
Jogging is interesting. Good commitment. Do restorative yoga. Gentle yoga. It has plenty of what you are looking for.
Happy new year. Go to yoga. No one will care if you are flexible or inflexible
