A love all this stuff with alex higgins. A cant get enough of it, especialy the early 1980s when on form alex could and did beat any one he played. Also when sport was at its best all round, from football english teams dominating europe for 8 years and 3 clubs winning the european cup with two of them doing back to back, and even aberdeen who were great won the cup winners cup in 1983 plus ipswich won the uefa cup in 1981 as liverpool won the european cup the same year and just weeks between them! And even darts was huge. God i was so lucky to see all this and am so grateful for it. It made me into a better player, no matter how great ye are at just 7 or 8 year old, theres always more to learn as you get bigger and play with boys at age 13. Alot of people forget or dont know that alex also played all through the 70s and won the world title in 1972 at his first attempt. I have never known that to happen before, to then win it again ten years later in 1982. Imagine that happening today!
@@parksyist I wouldn't mind but there is a bloody great big Scottish flag in the video preview. It may not bother you but I personally like to know what tournement I am watching. I do take your point though about repetition of my message. I guess I was hoping the poster would see it!
@snookering u2tonight 2 u,,, anyway you were rite it was the jaimeson cup they played for here. That music at the break is amazing the way it just hits you after 41 years since i last heard it, great days!!!!!
I think without doubt, Alex Higgins at his best would beat any player playing at their best during his career

This is the Jameson International not the Scottish Open, but other than that, what a great video!

This is the Jameson International NOT the Scottish Open
Whiskey/Whisky same difference lol.
@@johnmc3862 Not really John. The Scottish Open was held in Scotland and Jameson International held in England!
@@SnookeringU2Tonight It was a joke. They are both Whiskies and Jameson is Irish.
You might want to change the title as I assure you this is the Jameson International not the Scottish Open. Other than that, what a great video!
Gunna mention it anymore times??
