yep.. or try india for example africa, or any south american country.. there you got to watch out for derailing trains as well as being piled in on one another.. shanghai is very modern and manages expertly with the large population.. this girl needs to travel more..
Sorry if what I said was misleading, I was referring to China when I said they don't let people even get off the train, and almost fight their way in. In some parts of China there are areas to line up for say a drinks stand, and people will just walk around you unless you're directly in front of them.
Why is a song in English about California and Mexico playing over this video? Just let us hear the sounds of the Shanghai metro, the announcements in Chinese, the sounds of people moving.... With this, we only get visuals.
Been there done that, I liked it. It was a great experience. I also took the MagLev train from the airport to the one stop it makes, it travels at 400kph and that is fast. Then from that stop you can go downstairs to the underground and get up close and personal with a few thousand of your closest friends.
This is not nearly a madness compared to Shanghai's Line 6 during rush hours. That is just absolute madness! (Seriously, most of the Pudong District relies on this single line that only has 4 small cars per trainset).
Maxwell Chen I haven't been there at rush hour but have been there during other times. But now you can take the maglev 400kph train part of the way from the airport.
ronald li yo Japan still pushes people in but they do it rarely since Japanese passengers share their interest of being on time. I don't have the link, but a 205 series was filled with passengers and they needed to be pushed in.
This is not madness, this is very organised subway system, much less crowd than Tokyo, London Victoria and Beijing
Crowded... but I have to say it's not the craziest moment of Shanghai Metro. I can't even get into the Lujiazui STATION in rush hour.
Yeh, we've filmed in the metro a couple times, no one seems to care! Glad you like the video!
madness?? you must come from iceland or something.. is this the first big city you've been to?
Yes but compare this to say Japan, they don't even let people get of the train, instead they push and shove to get on the train.

It is very organized. It is better than the NYC subway system.
That's great Teaching Nomad!
Oh man Shanghai looks great! I was thinking about teaching there!
Singapore is even worse than this
Guangzhou is another one, but it's fun if you see it that way and enjoy it for the experience.
This looks very quiet to me. Why do you call this madness? I can't believe that this is rush hour.

Tokyo...
差之毫釐,謬以千里--開始時雖然相差很微小,結果會造成很大的錯誤
I really love riding my bike to work now :)
If you think thats bad - try London metro during rush hour. It bloody expensive and chaotic.
Double thumbs up, Classic Josie...
This woman must come from Texas, MARIANNE, GET ME A BEER, AND MAKE SURE IT IS COLD!
Luckily no, this footage is during morning rush hour. Only about 3 hours per day is it this crazy.
Imagine if someone farts in there...lol.

shanghai metros look fine, it looks like Montreal. However in Beijing it's crazyyy
Heavy traffic in MRT?
looks like shanghai metro is a lot more organized than beijing metro
for sure u didn't experience beijing during peak hour.
People mountain people sea.
Why called madness is that someone los their mind in Shanghai subway
Everyone organized and lined up for metro. whats the madness here?
They let you film?
its forbidden on the London Underground

The smell must be overpowering.
95%east Asian no small
really not all that bad
at least they queue, try bangladesh train
thats not tokyo... IT'S SHANGHAI!
why not push like in japan?
That video of pushing is from the 80s. Japan has become much more of a polite society since then, just like China has too
ronald li yo Japan still pushes people in but they do it rarely since Japanese passengers share their interest of being on time.
I don't have the link, but a 205 series was filled with passengers and they needed to be pushed in.
i think that is more great way to solve it
try London :) SIGNAL FAILURE MADNESS ALL DAY ALONG
هلا
HEY, that looks pretty orderly, queing up and all, i thought the chinese would be all over the place, dosent look that bad, kinda like singapore
