You should do more videos. Out of everyone I have watched on the whistle. You explain things by far the clearest. Brilliant videos. If your not already teaching as a profession you should do so.
Thanks, you're videos have really helped my technique on my MK low D. Particularly the angled right hand is much better at preventing leaks on the lower holes. I'm impressed that you play so well in a relatively short time with the instrument. On another subject, if I might make a suggestion about your on-camera presentation. Your delivery and camera presence are good and you don't spend much time reviewing your reference outline or notes . However I think you'll find an improvement if you locate your notes closer to the lens axis. That way referencing them looks more natural as if you're looking down slightly or over in thought, before resuming your delivery into camera. You might give it a try to see if you like it better. I use a teleprompter and I'm always critiquing myself to improve on my on-camera delivery. The best presenters are able to conceal the fact that they're using reference material by using conversational speech patterns and pauses and not reading but skimming over their notes. As viewers, we would never suspect and are impressed by their depth of knowledge, memory and ease of delivery.
Great lesson thanks for the exercises! Only ran through them once and already understand the embouchure needed better than I did. I think it will help with tone too. I find the higher notes very breathy so how to get a more precise directed air flow is exactly what I was after. Thanks!
This video is really helpful. I recently got this whistle as a birthday present to myself. I love the whistle so much I really wish there was an identical High D version. I would love to have a High D 'black silk' whistle to match.
