Brilliant, thanks! Not least for the encouragement to try various things out to find what sounds best to me. I was beginning to wonder if there were some standard form to the ornaments' use.
I’ve heard that lovely “burbling” sound in your playing before and often wondered how you did it, never realised you just needed to let your B finger lag when playing a Cnatural. Thanks a lot for this video, very helpful :-)
Thanks for the breakdowns. Depending on the whistle, you can usually get a pretty good C# with just the G finger down... so you can go from B to G to C# by removing the B+A fingers :-)
Oooo, that's a cool trick - never occurred to me to try that and trying it now I completely spazzed it out, it feels so out of the ordinary! But I'm going to mess around with that and see if I can lock it in, it could be useful!
I don't know why I when I hit high notes it just sounds awful. My sounds don't sound as clean. But of course I've only just started playing a few weeks ago.
You'll get there! It takes time to learn the breath control, each note requires a slightly different blowing strength depending on the whistle, register, etc. Some whistles are pretty squeaky and it's easy to overblow notes in the upper register. You'll get more used to it the more you play.
Wonedrful tutorial, I've been looking this ornament for quite a time! Thanks!

In indian classical flute we call triplets murkhi and
Doble tap khataka
Thank you! I see what looks like a tilde over some notes like the first note of Drowsy Maggie - are these double taps? Or turns?
Awesome tutorial! :) Thanks!
Awesome username! :)
