That looks like it is the end of our live stream chat, Thanks to all that took part, it was good to hear from you all, certainly given me some things I need to check out. Tight lines everyone, and keep fishing.
Chris, you might want to bump this up to the top! What a great informative video, the guy from Anglers Den is superb, great teacher who didn’t get annoyed when the student didn’t do what he said ( hats off ) I was a casting instructor for sea angler back in the late eighties and nineties and taught exactly the same things as this bloke👍👍👍
Brilliant tutorial, especially as I haven't had time to develop any bad habits, I'll be watching this again and again, thanks to all the participants. 👍👍👍
Good video for learning how to cast. I used to fish in the NW of England over 50 years ago and we didn’t have videos like this to help us. I now live in Australia and do a lot of beach fishing with a 16 foot rod. Nice video.
interesting thanks enjoyable video. Also nice to hear the comparisons between summer and winter rods. This had me imaginary javelin throwing in the living room too !
Excellent casting tuition for a newcomer. Takes me back 30 years when I started sea fishing having been coarse fishing for 11 years. Another excellent video. 👌
hi Chris, had my first session out at seaford on sunday eve high, with my new continentals ,pair of vecelli,s lovely rods, got them out a fair distance and after watching this and a bit more practice i hope to get them out even further. so a big thanks to you, perfect timing on the content for me, never too old to learn.
Excellent! Well done Glen, Chris and Max! So what did Max get in the end! And thanks to Glen for the casting advice!.... Brilliant! Tight lines all and keep safe. B
@@SEAFISHINGwithCJ Thanks CJ... just thinking of upgrading my Diawa and abu 6500 for continental’s and fixed spools... Many thanks for you’re replay form sunny Bexhill!
Thanks Chris. I've been struggling to get distance. I've been doing the 'man thing' and just tried brute force. This video has given me so much info. Thank you.
Im glad it has helped, watching Glyn has certainly improved my casting, not a bad idea to have a lesson. I know Glyn does them, check with your local tackle shop most have someone who can help.
Hi Chris, perfect timed vid as i have just got a pair of vercelli,s continentals and tried them out at seaford on sunday eve high, i was getting them out well, but watching this i hope to do better, missed two stonking bites too, thanks again.
Good video, just bought a Penn 14 foot surf rod and Penn spinfisher fixed spool 7500 reel. I'll be out the back garden with the butt before venturing onto the rocks or beach. Up the fash ;)
Just got back into beach fishing and had forgotten how to cast properly so found the video very informative. Liked the music as well - what was the track and who was it by
very good. I have been working on better technique. What I have found is the left foot has to point to the target. This will give you accuracy in the splash down. Where I fish, you have to have that accuracy due to other folks fishing on either side of you. Of course this effects the process somewhat. We also have very soft sand and uneven beaches to cast on. That's another challenge.
Iv never had a problem. Make sure you are laying the lead down in a reasonably clear area, and the lead is resting on the back of the wires. The lead is airborne almost immediately.
@@redvalley9 Bob. You would be better off calling Glyn in the Anglers Den and asking him, he has a much broader knowledge than me. The only rods i know about that are rigged for multis tend to be a bit more expensive.
That is a how long is a piece of string type of question, as they come in all sorts of specs. As a result of that video, i bought a black rock ss10. Its an amazing rod, light weight yet capable of casting up to 8oz. Great tip action but sturdy enough to stand up to weather. You need to go and check some out. Conti rods are mainly for fixed spool reels, with a great casting range. Certainly got me back on the beach (i used to only use zziplex and multipliers). Have a look at my other video with Glyn about buying a conti rod.
@@SEAFISHINGwithCJok will do I'm no pro at sea fishing and my casting ent the best I like the idea off light rod find it so mucth easier casting I'm only a short lad tho so its if I can manage one hopefully will do and do try do a little more research I only ever used fixed spool reels tbh I've never used braid tho only ever used mono worried about abrasion resistant
Iv just been to Tonys tackle in Eastbourne, he has some new Akios rods in that look AMAZING 👏. And cheap, they will be doing an add on heavier tip for extreme conditions. You perhaps need to check one of those out. They are called Akios Fury, truth is if i wasnt currently skint, even though i really do not need another rod i would probably get one.
@@SEAFISHINGwithCJI’m sorry but a 10 stone bloke with a very good technique will not out cast a 16 stone bloke with the exact same technique! I had an argument with tournament casters many moons ago stating that a little fella cannot compete against a big fella due to the fact they ain’t as strong! It’s like putting a lightweight weightlifter against a heavyweight with the same skill set, big dudes gonna win, no brainer!!!!

Thanks.
Thanks, great video!
Thanks.
it would be nice to see the Pro cast
Ill ask him
Great video very informative and clear. Can you tell me what rod he went for at the end didn’t quite catch that ?
Unfortunately covid stopped that, , i did buy a black rock ss10 following making the video. Its an awesome rod.
@@SEAFISHINGwithCJ does look decent if I ever go down the lines of having two rods may have to get one myself

What happens if you use gripper weights in an off the ground cast

@SEAFISHINGwithCJ thanks mate I'm going to try that way
Do all these rods suit a multiplier Chris?
No , most are fixed spool rods, multi rods have more rings near the tip. So the line , which is on top with a multiplier doesnt touch the blank.
What rod would you recommend for a multi at around £125?
Thanks

I liked the info except the fact of a persons size comparison. I’m 5’6 140lbs and guaranteed stronger then the 6’6 peeps. Found that insulting
