SeaJay gets a Happy Hull
Переглядів 1,9 тис.Місяць тому
Happy Hulls are an innovative way of protecting your hull from marine growth. Essentially your boat is encapsulated in its own dry dock. I was considering getting a floating dock, but Christian Simpson at Simpson Marine suggested I check out Happy Hull when I had read up about them, I knew it was the way to go. If you want to know more search on you tube there are several videos on there, or ch...

Hi mate love watching all your vids and the Tonys ones.. have hounds, dogfish always been so plentiful dwn on the south coast or is it a fairly recent invasion?
I don't remember catching Dogfish on the beach, like we do nowadays. And smoothounds were quite rare this far east, so things are changing
Cracking video mate. Hopefully see out there sometime. Tight lines
👍
What a beautiful looking day on the ocean 🌊👍🏻
It was.
Nice solo day that mate well done 👏🏻
Thanks. No monsters though.
Thanks
lovely vid
Thanks
Nice for raw fish with coconut cream Polynesian style GOOGLE it you will find out how Do you use Sabikis
I use Sabikis all the time on the boat, but the rig body line isn't strong enough to cast off the beach.
Love this. Did you land any Bream or Thornback? what sort of tide was it How deep, how far out.
Caught loads of bream, only 1 sizeable though, on pieces of cuttlefish. Medium size ebbing tide . About 5 miles offshore.
And yes we caught several thornies
Great to see how fish react around other fish and the crab. Thanks for sharing.
It was really interesting, the behaviour of the spider crab explains a lot at this time of the year too.
Nice one mate 💪🏻
👍
Really interesting video I'm surprised at how aggressive the bream and ray were they were not put off by the doggies at all Well done excellent video
Yes it surprised me too , the behiour of the spider crab was a revelation too.its no wonder the fishing is crap inshore at the moment.
Fantastic Cj let's have some more please 👊👊💥
There will be loads at the end of the main videos when I finish editing them.
Excellent video 😊
Cheers
Great video, CJ. love the boat
Thanks
Today I learned about shock leaders, thanks mate!❤
Glad to be of assistance 😊
That's actually a great video for a wannabe newbie like me. Many thanks!
👍
Some nice fish ther cj bet you where gutted loosing what looked like a reel cracker.
Sorry had to stop this before 10 minutes as it was telling me and showing me absolutely nothing. Great if you know fishing jargon and numbers but I don’t. Also trying to show me how to do knots with a transparent fishing line? Come on get real. Great effort guys and no doubt it will be if benefit to those inexperienced folk who need a little more knowledge but for absolute beginners like me, it’s not helping at all. What I need is a true fishing guide for beginners:
It was designed, more as a guide to beginners on what they could do for £50. There are plenty more videos out there on how to do it, now you know what to look for.
If only we had some coastguards like that in the English Channel 😉
👍
Great fishing Chris, did line break or hook failure on the big fish. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🎣🎣🎣
You look so happy out in your boat. Glad you caught some fish. Shame I did not know you wanted those lures as I have been in two Cabela’s this trip. No opportunity now🥴.
Thanks mate, I don't think you can get them anymore. When are you back?
There is always a complete & utter wanker around to fuck up your day 😮 keep up the good work mate 👌🙌👍🏻☺️
Mate, you hear about etiquette when fishing, the commercial boys are quick to moan if you pass too close , or drive over the feeding fish, but this commercial w ⚓. Steamed past me at full tilt, right over the top of the reef. I think he thought he owned the place. Or wàs it because I was catching fish and he wasn't. The sort of short sighted bonanza fishing that is going on will wipe out the shoal
@@SEAFISHINGwithCJ Bloody hell, stupidity at its best. There is always someone out to ruin your enjoyment 😉 I've had that while fishing, boats coming right up close to you when fishing 🎣
Nice session buddy 🎉
Hi Cj… at least you got one for the table…. What was the rod you were using.. looked nice and light.also….. What kayak did you get? Keep the vids going😀😀😀
It was a Sakura jigging rod. I got a Hobie Compass.
@@SEAFISHINGwithCJ Thanks CJ! you’ll love the kayak.. it’s nice you can fish inshore where you’re boat is to large… using nice small 1-2 oz weights and lures.. look forward to the vids what weight was the Sakura?
Hi CJ, great video as always. How are the commercial boat’s catching the bass? Are they rod and lining or is there another method being used? Hope you are well, Dave, broadstairs
Obvious they don't share their methods, but I suspect it's with lures
Has the mayrot cleared from the beaches yet Chris
Yes at the moment it has gone.
Thanks CJ for the crackin video brought back fond memories many years ago i used to keep my Boat on the beach at Cooden and launch early morning to watch the sunrise now retired living in Highlands Tight Lines
I like a lie in , but you can't beat an early morning start.
Looks a great area to fish, need to put that on my 'to go' list. Thanks for sharing.
And it is so bassie.
Cart is not waste from the crab fishing industry. Most anglers seem to think this but it's not. It's edible when cooked.
That will explain why it is so expensive.
we use the Macerel for live bait to catch big kingfish here in New zealand
And here for bass
Couldn’t make out in the video if Tony was tying a granny knot in the leader or the mainline. I’m sorry but I have to agree, this video is not really a “beginners guide to” but more of a “fishing on a budget” Please don’t get me wrong CJ, I love your videos and learn from them all the time but I struggled with this one. Sorry!
I suspect it wasn't really aimed at you. 42000 people have viewed it. And only you didn't like it.
You obviously haven’t read all your comments then.
Also, I didn’t say I didn’t like it. I said I didn’t think it was a beginners guide. Your very jumpy CJ, chill out man!
Enough for dinner not a market buffet
👍
Is this the same chap that reeled in a dead codling for a Video to avoid a Blank?
Who knows.
Run the line through your fingers and it will take all the Memory ( coils ) out of the line.
👍
That works for a while, but eventually you have to de twist the line.
Yeah, sadly, it's not a beginner's guide as it uses unexplained, undefined jargon and things like the knotting process is shot from far away (with poor contrast) whilst lots of definite articles are used to describe the process: 'this' is 20lb, 'that' is 10lb and the newbie is left guessing what 'this' and 'that' are. Shame after the kindly effort of filming, editing and posting. I've given up watching as it's use. I liked your intro, warning against getting greedy/frenzied though.
Not sure what video you watched, but I didn't show a knotting process in it. Perhaps you need to watch it again from beginning to end
7:20 Well I'm not sure what video you watched, but off at the other side of the tackle shop is a blurry knotting process in this 'beginners video' with the demonstrator using jargon and you, acting on behalf of the viewing beginner, going "yeah, yeah, yeah... I know all that". I suggest instead that YOU rewatch this from the perspective of a beginner and realise that you've misnamed the video. Could've been good. Isn't what it claims.
... I exaggerate and paraphrase, obviously....
great BUDGET set up there chis nice set up.
Live in the west of ireland .Its hard to catch them from shore unless the bait shoals and moves in. Weather is a huge player.
👍
Looking at the cost of living CJ a Budget is needed 💰looking to catch some bass this summer 🎣 Great Video 👍
Thanks for the coffee
What a great BUDGET setup 👍it would be a great little setup to get me back into fishing again 👍thanks for sharing and enjoy a coffee from me 😊tight lines 🐋🐋
Wow very tidy gear on a good BUDGET
Why not walk the beach after mid July and pick up as many as you want. Cheap and easy. Good luck.
Your videos have improved a lot as are far more composed and informative these day's.
I try
What a cracking BUDGET setup. Nice little bass at the end. Another great video CJ!
Thanks
I live in the States (South Carolina, USA). On Hatteras Island, NC, USA, there is a tackle shop on the island that has a huge rack of beginner (disposable)fixed spool combos for the tourists visiting the island. The use of fresh bait has been stressed over here to newbies as well but we a cheap hardheaded people. If you have a quid or a dollar left in your budget, best get that prespooled reel stripped and lined with at least a quality bulk mono.
Nice video Chris. I started on a BUDGET and now look where it's ended. Dream on.
Thanks
Good video Chris. I dropped on with my rod. My local tackle shop had a try at a few beach rods ( we're in the midlands) but they obviously didnt sell as well as they hoped so I got a Penn Tidal for about that price ... just need to learn to cast 200 miles now to the beach 🤣
Penn tidals are great rods too
Next video with Brian is a casting video. He will improve your cast, but not 200miles, you need a van for that 😂
This is a good shop for beginners, i haven't been in Hastings for a while, i used to go to Steve's tackle and redferns as well , but not sure if they are still open, brilliant video as always.
Great for beginners Chris. All the best from G.Y
Great video CJ. I have been fishing for a number of years with limited success and the video gave me some added information. Never really been shown but as we all do picked it up from other anglers. Still class myself as a hit and hope angler with limited experience but love the sport whether I catch or not. Does the rod length have to be 12 foot plus for a decent cast or is that a silly question. The Hastings shop looked great and I think many wanting to come into the sport need to be pointed in the right direction as the choice can sometimes be overwhelming. Great to see you back from holiday. Best wishes Dave broadstairs
Hi CJ, Really good video. I learnt a few things from it, thanks. I don't think you actually mentioned the price of the reel. Just a thought to gauge the quality/price range. Barry from Essex
That's actually quite impressive that you can get all that on a BUDGET of £150. Thank you. Might have to get my boy something like this to get him off the Xbox haha. Good video.
👍
