As a new player still learning what most things mean, this is probably the first guide I've watched that made clear sense to me. 👍I feel like I have a bit of direction on what I should be shooting for when pulling/collecting.
this is my only exposure to the one piece tcg and I think this video is a great springboard into the meta it's interesting to see the highlighted signpost cards for a given color change over the course of these videos :)
I see monkeyfightTCG upload I click. Even if its about a game I dont care about like Yugioh. I appreciate all the effort you put in, all of your vids are top notch.
Recently picked up an Uta starter deck from my area haven't been able to find anything else in the area(it has all been bought up.) One thing I have noticed while looking at stuff online is that if you are willing to buy Japanese cards things can be much cheaper(~$7 for Nami as opposed to $29.)
@@zoey7514 I don't think that that's a problem, even when playing in a tournament. At least in Yugioh you can play cards in any language as long as you have a translation of the effects at hand.
Thanks for the clear and helpful video! I’m just getting started playing and although I’ve already chosen which decks I want to build I felt very overwhelmed by how far behind I am and how much I still need to learn (we’re already on OP8 😅) in order to understand my opponents. This overview of leaders and decks gave me a much better idea of what to expect. Thanks again!
Dude , I'm only two minutes in this video and I'm super impressed with how detailed your breakdown and explanations are 👌 i can already tell I'm going to learn a lot 💯👍 thank you!
Hey man, love the vids. I just started in op05 and watched that one. I would like to add for NEW PLAYERS,yellow katakuri is a very strong meta relevant deck that is great for learning, and it IS NOT as expensive as people think. One of the top katakuri players won the last treasure cup running 1 copy of katakuri, and he said it was an immediate cut, worst card in his deck. With op06 coming out, you can play the aggressive style trigger katakuri for around 150-175, and it is performing extremely well for me in sim and at locals. Just wanted new players to be aware!
For anyone stressing about the Gordon price you can play 4 raise max and 2 Gordon 6 Is a great number. If you don’t have queen the op06 shuraiya is amazing I think you would play that over queen anyway. Good this set next set tier 1.
I dunno man. I was 3/4ths of the way through building a blue crocodile deck before the price jacked WAY up for the remaining staples I needed. I was going to just get a starter deck and go to locals with it out of the box to just get started and see if I even like the game or not but the Uta starter deck (only one I've even seen) sold out everywhere before I could get one. I feel like it's waaaaaay too late for any new players to get into the game at any level of play. And given Bandai's track record with TCGs I feel like the game can just get rug-pulled at any time.
I've played Green/Yellow Yamato and love the deck but it gets stomped by Moria which is rampant at my locals. Swapped over to Katakuri since I was only missing 10 drop mom and Perosperos and ended up wining. This format kind of stinks at the moment but I'm excited for EB01 and OP06. I see this video being extremely helpful for anyone new getting into the game and would love to see updated lists for each set.
I pulled garbage in OP06 pre releases, so I'm actually bringing red purple Useless "Captain" Mid to my locals this weekend. Also a black/red garp is a very funny deck that I highly recommend people look into. The leader ability is so good, and makes the two colors actually synergize with each other, as red has cards that give rested DON!! to other cards. More people need to give the best garbage tier deck another look because it's so fun.
Newgate has more tops by a bit. Those decks are probably better but don't show up as much for whatever reason. Green uta specifically just has the one gigantic win and hasn't done much else outside of that.
It's very playable surprisingly but does have some really rough match ups. It's super deck list dependent so you'll have to do a lot of experimenting. Here's a successful list from Japan: x.com/WVHSmY5RaWyNogP/status/1776824242136650189
In rogue. It'd too hard to recommend to new players, to expensive to recommend to new players, and to samey to get into meta or monkey recommends. Still a great deck. Just awkward to recommend.
@@MonkeyFightTCG what top end? Uta puts out Kid and 2/3 blockers. Mom isn't going to matter when you can just indefinitely block the big and counter out of everything else. There's no way for Yellow to remove Kid outside of Katakuri and by battle.
@@MonkeyFightTCG prolly topped at a local flagship. If you look at any other topping deck is not ruynning ace cause its do much don to commit in a deck which is all about swarming. Same with queen since reiju is just better card draw and realistically youd much rather place 5 cost kid as a blocker.
Just confirming that the TCG ban, which includes the Sakazuki leader ban, was announced today.
Ye, it only goes into effect in june tho
Why sakazuki banned?
@@superfukon The effect to discard and draw alongside the relatively free cost-minus effect, proved to be to strong of an ability for the game.
@@brandonmedina3993 so moria better for black now?
@@superfukon Moria will still be solid. But in the next set Lucci is definitely the better black color leader.
Gotta add a 3rd option to the intro for "or you're just here to listen to me talk card games". That's why I'm here.

Just about yeah
@@MonkeyFightTCG Just bought it thanks! :D
How can I buy a Kat deck? New to TCG so

To make the Useless Captain Kidd joke even better, make it Useless Captain Mid
my first variation of the joke was "Eat Ass Caption Kid"
Kid leader was the 1st meta

Pleaaaassseee make the op07 too
maybe if this one does well
Will you be doing a deck guide for OP07?
Do you have any thoughts or ideas about Altered? A recent tcg that just left kickstarter.
any suggestions for cards to use instead of Great Eruption? Banned in the sim.
Why are you classing new gate as meta and not red purple law or Uta which are both leagues better

Green uta specifically just has the one gigantic win and hasn't done much else outside of that.
ARLONG MENTIONED RAHHHHHH🦈🦈🦈
With Red/Pruple Eustass Kid, is there anything in op07 worth looking at? Was thinking Purple Sanji ot get a 3 cost, 6k body whilst being a 2k counter
Where would the Zoro & Sanji deck lay on the strong, playable & weak scale?

What would be the price of a Yamato deck ? asking as a new player
hey! can you make deck for purple kaido?? TYYYY
Unfortunately Trafalgar law is close to 4-500$ now, gordon + queen + reiju alone is 300
Where do you recommend buying singles? I’d like to avoid TCG player since using different sellers for one deck adds up too fast
i personally like sanji deck but should i actually build it irl??? (the other option is p luffy but i am a VERY cheap person)
If you don't mind loosing then sanji is fine

:( vinsmoke reiju is so expensive
How about that FoW part 2 😢
Katakuri dropped in price.
You need a few Katakuris in Katakuri otherwise you kinda lose to 8c Kid
not really, they like everything else just loses to enough of katakuri's top end.

Obviously decks can draw bad. Any deck can. However Katakuri literally has 0 removal options for Kid outside of Katakuri.
this game feels like pay to win
like any card game it sometimes can be. But don't let that discourage you from playing. There's plenty of budget options and fun to be had.
Except if you dont play the meta you’ll be likely having more losses than wins.
