Another 2.7 lover here. Maybe the most bulletproof Porsche engine in the modern era. One of the best sounding also.
That Civic was doing well, they are capable of giving you a real run.
I just recently purchased an ‘08 Cayman base same color as yours so I love to see your videos and watch you get the best performance out of it. I’m dreaming of a track day soon but want to learn more about getting the best out of the performance of it before I take to that level. Texas highways and back roads are my preferred courses for now. Cheers
@Kei Hello! I got my 2010 base in March and I'm loving the backroads where I'm at in Texas. Previous owner had it out at COTA and burned up the OE pads and sensors so I'm leaning what to do before I go there, probably next year as I don't have time for the event next month. To Mark, nice driving!
How Carroll Shelby of you guys in my home state 'cept you're doing it in a proper mid-engine sports car. I would imagine the PCA drives would be fun in good company.
I have a ‘10 cayman base to learn track driving. Just did my first beginner day. I was terrible but it was a ton of fun. I need to learn to heel toe like this guy
Yes fellas! Preach the 2.7 goodness! It’s one of the main reasons I got a boxster sports design pack thingee. Possibly the best driving engine/car package in the whole cayman/boxster line up

If you want to fix the excessive body roll H&R do a stiffer anti roll bar set (part 33180-1) and both H&R (29168-1) and Eibach ( E10-72-008-01-22) do stiffer springs for the stock dampers with the Eibach supposedly having been specifically engineered to work with PASM. MLperformance had them at a good price last time I looked.
I own 987.2 S 2012 model and I don't mind 2.7 at all if it is .2 model. 3.4 and 2.7 are both fantastic road going fun car for sure!

This was a great watch, have just bought a 987 Boxster and have been enjoying your other videos. I'm just down the road from Bedford and the idea of track day appeals. Have you done any content on what sort of costs are involved?
Bedford track days are around 120-200 depending on what company you book with. Insurance for track can be like 100-200. Assume another 100 for petrol. As far as I know a single track day isn’t g9ing to do too much to the tires or brake unless your are going full on..
Sometimes it's not the car. It's all about the driver

Have a 16 manual base. Car is amazing.

My R26 is about 260bhp and keeps up with my friends 3.4 Cayman S. So much so that he bought a megane and tuned it to 330bhp and then so have a few other friends in various states of tune. Fantastic bargain track cars that run rings around most things

Imagine what my 3.4L PDK would do at track.
I know Mark is lucky to have a six speed in his car, but I think a five speed would have better in driving on this track, less shifting, longer legs in each gear.
