@@shaki5146 I wrote this comment 9 months ago and seeing it again just now is so interesting. Infact I think I am very beautiful, and am actually extremely grateful now for my features, because these days women are looking like clones. It’s nice to be set apart from the rest, especially knowing I’m natural. As for you, it’s crazy that they pick on you for your beautiful features lol, just remember our features weren’t “in” until jim kardashian showed up. So in the near future, we will be the face of beauty :)
I hate my nose since I was 15. Only one person told me about my nose, and it was two years ago, I’m 25 soon. I thought I got over my nose, I received a lot of compliments from men and friends that I’m beautiful but then something clicks in my mind and I wang to hide somewhere. I like my appearance but I feel that my nose do not suit me. Whats the worst, guys with small noses like me, and i feel more masculine because i imagine how big my nose is in comparison. I hope to feel beautiful again, I felt beautiful with same nose, i understand that nothing changed but I can’t look at myself in the mirror, why?
I would hope that bully sees this. It's a horrible society we live in. People hide behind their computers or a piece of paper. You rose above it, congratulations to you. Way to make it a positive! You inspire many, keep doing what you are doing!
My word, that was so cruel! I was teased relentlessly in school. They would hide around the corner and stick their finger out and bend it while screeching “herronk herreonk!” A guy I was hanging out with when I was 15 told me, “ I really like you but...I couldn’t go out with you because your nose is just too big.” I was so self conscious that every time I walked in to a room and if people were laughing, I just knew that they were laughing at me. I felt like a beast. I have Greek and Scandinavian heritage and inherited my biological fathers large nose which I smashed in to the concrete when I was in fifth grade so not only was it big but also crooked! I obsessed and obsessed about it to the point that my mother took me in for a surgery with an ENT doctor who really messed it up inside which made my breathing worse. Finally at the age of 31, I saved up my tax money and had a septo/rhinoplasty which was partially covered by my insurance because it was such a mess inside. It looks better, is a bit shorter but is still far from a perfect nose. I still have a messed up front angle with one nostril slightly larger than the other and it can still get me down sometimes especially with these damn IPhone reverse cameras! Now I’m nearly 50 and broke and have chronic pain from arthritis and back problems and couldn’t imagine trying to undergo surgery again especially when there’s no guarantee and with my luck, it would look worse so I’m stuck with this nose. We are so unbelievably hard on ourselves and I would never treat another person like I had treated myself in the past. I have a husband that loves me, 3 great kids and my 3rd grandkid on the way and they never seem to care about my nose so I’m gonna try not to care about it as much either. I do stop and smell the roses every chance I get and need to remember to be kind to myself and of course to others and to build people up rather than bulldoze them over with words that shred at our precious self esteem. Thanks for talking about this. I still have to fight the initial red flushes of shame that this brings up in me. You are a remarkable woman!
ma if I think we are all our worst critics. Most men I know tell me they never even noticed my nose. Maybe they just say that but still, there’s such a thing as having a great personality, a special talent or skill that one has and just being a kind, and caring person. You will find love no doubt about it! Just focus on what makes you unique and always work on education yourself on topics that interest you and you will find like minded people who will be happy to share your company! In the meantime, save your money in case you think you really need to make a change but don’t forget to work on your insides in the meantime.
The bullies are cowards . I had a big sticky out nose until I was 11 when a 16 year old kicked me in the face . I had to have surgery to straighten it up . Now I have a bent nose but I don't care as I don't need to look at it . 61 now and it hasn't been an easy ride . Think mainly due to having a tough childhood has scared me mentally. ❤
Michelle - I am the same woman you are, I do not have a small nose. I am not considered a beauty and have larger features. Yes I used to be jealous of the pretty, petite featured women in life, but now on social media they get the "You are so beautiful" comments. Social media is so hard for these kids. Long ago I decided that I needed to use my other assets to forge ahead in life. I am highly creative, assertive and have a heart of gold ( all assets worth more than a pretty nose). Well this week I started my new challenge to lose 40 more lbs. (lost 55 in 2017 and gained a 20 back with my job lay off). This is a stressful time with looking for a job and the possibility that my life style will change greatly. I was an at home (remote) employee. If I am changing one thing I have decided to change it all. New hair, diet, workout and attitude........and darn I will have to get a new job in 2019. Thanks you for your inspiring message, I applied it to my life. I am also here and would be interested and love to help with the girls you mentor. Please reach out to me, I am here to help. God Bless You!!!!!!!
The tragedy of world today.. large ,wide noses are not glamorised...noses have become a big burden and cause of insecurity to young boys and girls...this is so disappointing to me..our media, film makers should glamorise big, wide noses so that no one will suffer this type of insecurity depression...
I love you so much for this talk. So so much. I have the same nose, and hearing you own it and love it proudly, made me know that I can too. My daughter has the same nose and I want her to grow to love it too. Not if it’s smaller, not if it’s more straight, just exactly the way it is. The part where you mentioned it being like your fathers was so beautiful. You are such a beautiful person, inside and out and I really needed to hear this video today.
Absolutely inspirational! Thank you for sharing -- even though I know it wasn't easy. Mean messages will always hurt, no matter how hard we try to pretend they don't. But it's always so great to hear how others get through it! - A fellow news lady :)
To be honest i have a bump on my nose and a while ago my sister told me my nose is terrible and i should do a surgery. Moreover, this is not the first time she said sth like that made me feel like i am not enough and as good as her.Fortunately just after listening to your speech i changed my mind about myself,🙂I wanna start pursuing my dream

ehh not really. sometimes maybe, but you can't make a broad statement like that without sounding like you're victim blaming lol.
