Which do you prefer? Vanilla Maps or KingGen generated maps? :) Tell me below! 🔗 7 Days to Die Guide Playlist ua-cam.com/play/PL5Z54hiemOAvaGeK8_3lOCst40s5vFYak.html
In vanilla i only like navezgane (and i know it to well :) because the other worlds are not good designed. Der KingGen Maps let me try big random worlds again. But not with a mountain border, because that looks ugly and very not immersive :)
Great job with KingGen. I'm hosting a server for about 12 players and were loving it. Were using the Magolis Compo pack with it and everyone agrees, looters/explorer heaven.
@@Vedui42you know what I miss ? Overgrown roads and it's hard to see where you spawn. Also I would love to see what items I can remove from the map so the download for other players is less big. For the rest I am amazed with how much faster kinggen generates maps in comparison to the old nitrogen keep up the good work!
Man am I glad I found this. I generated a map with a ton of cities because my friend and I love living in the city. You know what would be really cool? If you made the option to make a mega city that is the size of a 4k map with a really sky scraper concentrated area. Like a zombie apocalypse in Chicago eh?
So making a full map of cities is tough for the game to handle. It might be possible to some degree, esp if onl a 4k map but ... still it'll maybe not run super well!
I'd love a map generator that can take a map from google maps and create a world based off of that. Imagine being able to create a 7D2D world based off of real locations!
Yes, I think Nitrogen is more refined overall, more polished as it were? However seems Nitrogen might not be maintained anymore, and having multiple tools is great, giving us more options and possibilities! :) 12-13 seconds was super fast tho!
I like that alot! I've been wanting to set up separate campaigns where I could do a giant snow map. I've also had problems with the map gen causing sheer vertical cliffs even in the middle of roads making it quite difficult
While I also hate the layout in the new vanilla maps with the forest in the center and the rest arranged around it I think that's gonna be a necessity in A20 onwards as the storyline quests get put in. The storyline moves you from biome to biome in progression so a nice looking map with scattered bits and pieces like we all like better simply is not gonna work well.
We'll see. It's a bit of an issue with how maps are, as they're so boring now in vanilla. You might be right with storyline progression, though I sorta feel you could accomplish it with "blobbing" out storyline areas on the overall map and filling in the rest or something :)
i like KingGen and Nitrogen, though i immediately noticed some issues with generating small towns and villages on KingGen. i can't wait to see it be updated and improved!
@@Vedui42 when i made my first world, i spawned next to a small village that had a few houses, cabins, and a school. the issue was that one cabin and the ground it was on rose high up, creating an awkward cliff next to the other pois. also, instead of asphalt road for the town's grid, it was gravel, but wasn't an old west town. these roads didn't connect to the pois very well due to not extending out past the pois and town structure, and the fronts of some pois didn't even face the roads/streets. it makes more sense when you look at it in a picture or ingame. the cities and towns generate just fine, but small villages/towns that branch off of a dirt path seem to often generate strangely with the landscape. i'm playing on nitrogen world for now but i want to keep up to date with KingGen once the creator resolves issues like that. i love the way the biomes and landscape generate in KingGen and how easy to use the interface is. it just breaks immersion and peeves me when i see the smaller towns generate like that.
The things i like about custom world generating tools: 1. Generating maps with skyscrapers and every vanilla poi 2: many options of map sizes to choose from like 6k,10k,12k,14k and 16k 3:Cities that look like Cities
I was enjoying the 1st map and everything was too far spaced apart. So I watched your video and you explain everything pretty well. Decided to try another map and everything looked good to start, but then I noticed, mailboxs were on the back of the next house. Road went through houses. Nothing makes sense. Then on top of everything, I get to the second trader and it's so recessed in the ground, I can't get out. I can't dig, it makes that weird sound. I can't build blocks to get out. I'm literally sitting here typing, because at day 6, I'm permanently stuck at the trader. Absolutely no way to get out of this hole. I sorry, but 2 out 2, I'm done. Absolutely no good... Is there a way to fix this or do I have to start over AGAIN. If so, I won't be using king gen ever again!
Which version of 7 days to die are you using? :) From my understanding, KingGen (and other 3rd party generators) were never updated to either Alpha 21 or Version 1.x of the game. Which is a pity, as I think they made much better maps than the game itself.
Random biomes all over the place doesn't really make sense to me... is there a way to make the map more natural? So the biomes are cohesive but not in a rigid pattern like the vanilla one
Sorry I'm new to 7 days to die. Can you use the nitrogen world generator to create a random gen world for alpha 19? Will it transfer to alpha 20 when it gets released? I don't want to start a new world that won't work because it's unsupported. Am I better off using king gen for future proofing my world?
Yes you can use Nitrogen for A19. And no, it will not transfer to A20, as there'll be too many changes requiring a new map, a new save :) Same goes for vanilla, or kinggen, the maps will not be compatible with A20 :)
Hey bro, while we load a saved game in 7dtd, it shows a still poster or image image as a background. How can we change that image to some image of our choice ? Kindly educate me. Thanks.
Hey @Vedui42 Im having issues with KingGen. The traders only give Buried Supplies quests and it also doesnt upgrade tiers. Would you know how to fix this? I rather play with trader quests since I like them. The map I generated was a full Wasteland map, if that is any concern.
That is weird. It sort of sound as if the wasteland generated map you're having, causes an issue with finding POI's to allocate quests to, causing this issue? does it always happen?
@@Vedui42 yes it always happens, there are still cities and town and most all normal pois as well. I'll try to make a normal map and see if maybe its really because it's all Wasteland. Update: So I made a normal map with the kinggen and everything works fine now. So it must be because of Wasteland only map, which is unfortunate since I really wanted to play on a wasteland only. Also another thing I forgot to mention is that after completing the tutorial quest on the wasteland map, the "Journey to Settlement" quest is bugged and says "Travel to Trader: NO TRADER"
Is it possible to adjust how much commercial will spawn in the cities? Cause I am def curious on trying this out with Undead Legacy. I got burned out on the game in vanilla due to generation of the world and the general difficulty so maybe this brings some life back into it for me
@@Vedui42 Well that entirely depends on the size of the town really. Thats why I asked so broadly. Like lets say we have a town at the size of 30 buildings as an example, would 5-10 of those be commercial? Cause that would feel a little too much. Or lets say we have a town at the size of 80 buildings, we would get like 10-20 commercial buildings. It just makes it feel a little too unbalanced for what I am seeing in the main town generation. But of course, I have yet to try it out myself so I cant possible know how indepth the entire system runs :o
there is a setting you can increase some, which limits transfter rate. But problem is, a 16k map is hundreds (300? 500? ) mb size, and it can take ages.

Hi Jeffrey. I don't quite follow, can you elaborate? I've not been updating Kinggen. Any maps created, be it vanilla, kinggen, or nitrogen are the same, they do not require special software to view. Their structure is the same as a vanilla map, that's the whole point of them :) As to x out when generator is open? What does that mean? :)
