- Soft Red Winter Wheat
Mash Bill: Corn 73% | Wheat 15% | Barley 12%
Ben Holladay Bourbon is aged in a level three, charred, Missouri white oak barrel and is non-chill filtered. It is produced using many of our original methods including a two-grain cooker system, same distillation proofs, and barrel entry proof.
This is handcrafted small-batch bourbon, with each batch being pulled monthly from different barrels spread out on different floors of our two seven-story rickhouses and blended by our master distiller to match our strict criteria for flavor profile.
Approximately 80% of the very first batch will be sourced from barrels that were aged on the fifth floor of Warehouse C, the largest rickhouse on-site. The remaining 20% of the bourbon will come from barrels aged on the first floor of the same rickhouse.
The ratios of each subsequent batch of Ben Holladay Bourbon will be unique as we embrace the variable aging between floors. The temperature can vary by as much as 30 degrees between the top and bottom floors, resulting in differences in taste between barrels that have aged in the cooler temperatures and higher humidity found on the first floor versus the warmer and drier conditions on the higher floors. These differences are most dramatic in the early years and diminish over time, but are still present at the six-year aging mark.
Due to the unique variations of each batch, the Ben Holladay Bourbon label features a blending chart to help distinguish the individual batches and allow consumers to identify the blending process used.

This man is definitely going to build a bourbon empire with all of these connections and I'm absolutely going to be along for the ride.
Will does a nice review. You should hire him. 🥃
He works with us full-time :)
@@Brewzle Good to hear, because I saw him driving Maggie…
@@davevogelsang6791 Lol, Im not sure about that one! He lives a few hours away from me
Glad that I’m a MO resident and can find these without much trouble!
Just moved to MO and bought both. I have not opened the straight because I am enjoying the wheat so much. Might have to try it tonight
Love to see more distilleries out there making their own stuff! Nothing against sourced whiskey, just happy to see more craft distilleries in the world.
TJ - Was in missouri last week on vacation and was looking for Ben Holliday based on your review. Found both of these and couldn’t decide…so I bought both! Good stuff!
Just picked me up a bottle of the regular. Can't wait to try it, I live in Missouri so this is an awesome video shouting out Missouri bourbon.
Nice looking labels, classic bottle shape. I want them both
Just picked me up a bottle of the soft red wheat!! I’m excited to try it, you’ve never steered me wrong!!
Love Ben Holladay! Its soooo good. Great company, great people, fantastic whiskey
I got to talk a while with one of the Ben Holiday guys at a tasting. Great guy. Excellent bourbon.
Couldn't agree more!
Thanks for the recommendation TJ. Love the Ben Holladay Soft Red Wheat. My favorite bourbon and need a TJ pick of this. Let's make this happen!
I have a bottle of soft red wheat and I am a huge fan! I love it. It's smooth and tasty. It has a bold oak that I do like so very much. Pairs well with a v series Oliva
Some members of the Bourbon group from my favorite local store went to this distillery and did the first barrel pick ever done at Ben Holladay. Due out any time, now. Can't wait. The guys really gush about the barrel they selected.
I highly recommend you check our Twelve 33 distillery here in SC. My favorite is their Big 6 double oaked. It's actually finished with a French oak spiral. It's insanely good.
I just tried the soft red wheat bib and it's great!
Thanks for turning an East coast bourbon clown onto the Holliday - very solid whiskey.
Try Southern Peach Calypso, and a splash of seltzer with that Holliday
Keep us - me - posted if they send you a barrel!
True story- End of May 2017 traveling through Missouri with my son & I see a sign on the interstate “Distillery” next exit.
I take the exit and we end up with a personal tour of the place including the limestone springs and the Bonded Warehouse.
We get to the still and the man told us they had just switched to their wheat grain bill.
He reached up and took a sample of the hearts as it ran through. He estimated about 120 proof and it was as clean and smooth as spring water. I’d love to find a bottle from around that time.
I'm a fan of anything soft red wheat it's delicious
My local Costco had a single barrel pick at cask strength along with both of these BiB's. It's good to be in MO!
Just bought the soft red wheat. Its solid.
I enjoy fourty creek barrel select. Give it a try
My wife is in KCMO seeing her parents. She got me 2 bottles of soft red wheat
I blinded both, also. Soft red wheat won it for me.
These guys are local to me so I grabbed a bottle of the soft red wheat, might be my new favorite daily sipper
Cane Rock Rum. Try it on the rocks then with Coke! It's fantastic!!
I have a bottle on the way. Looking forward to it.
If you ever find it, theres a bourbon i think you should try. Its calld Bowman Brothers Virginia Straight Bourbon. Its a lesser known brand and has a small following
If you do a a barrel pick let me know, I’m 20 minutes from the distillery.
Hey man I have to say I don't drink much and no nothing about whisky but I watch your channel because your just intertaning
I can't wait til they can get their production up so the price can come down a bit. $70 for their BiB is steep as hell.... but god damn it's good juice. really love their products and it's cool to see a MO distiller rise up.
Oh you need to do J. Rieger Co.
Keep your eye out for the SBBP - it's 6 yrs 5 months and 121.8 proof. Just picked mine up today.
I'll take a barrel as well. 😊
Brother! From a fellow bourbon lover you should try topo and bourbon! It's simple like a whiskey and coke but you don't lose the flavor of the bourbon and keep the bubbles!
Have you ever passed out sir by drinking a littile too much
Ben and Will when they saw this short: 👁👄👁
It is some good stuff. I head to Branson often as I live in OK and I have killed a few bottles of this stuff.
At the Holaday distillery. Have to say not to bad of a bourbon
TJ’s a sucker for a BiB 🥃
My man, I don't know if you've had it yet, but Company Bourbon out of Ohio is pretty damn good.
I heard the opposite and purchased the non-wheat. Guess ill have to grab it next week.
Have you tried Jim Beam black double aged? Im a fan at the lower price point.
The real question is: Did you give the bottle to Will? :)
But what about Missouri Ridge Distillery?
They were doing a tasting of the Ben Holliday BIB but the lady didn’t know what it was or what it meant so I got to teach her about it. My civic duty was done lol
Need to have them send you the Soft Red Wheat Rickhouse bottle it has a higher proof.
Will is great for giving a younger generation review. Remember how much your pallet and types of drinks change from your younger days. What I like now, I definitely didn’t like in my 20’s.
That's so true!
Hey TJ.
I'm from Opelika, but moved out West a few years back (CO).
Would love to see/hear your thoughts on the line of Tincup American Whiskeys if you can get your hands on them.
Original/Rye/10yr/14yr LTD
Thanks, WDE
Im from Missouri send me a bottle lol 😂😂
Picked this bottle up based on how much you’ve been touting it… me and my step dad both felt it was light, with not many flavors. Maybe I just got a bad bottle?
My name's will and Ive lived in MO most my life
Blind blind blind getting tired of blinds all the time
Soft red wheat vs OWA
When are you gonna do redemption rye?
Good question
I bought this bc of you, super good. Ive been collecting for the last decade, at this point im not looking for unicorns anymore (obviously if i come across one, great). I'm looking for affordable, available, delicious bourbons now. There's always hit or misses but hunting seems fun again, not so frustrating 😄. Thanks for taking your channels in this direction.
Kcmo stand up
I hope you have will something in return 😅😅😅
Try some alcohol created not just made in Minnesota.
I’m in the uk and really struggle to find different bourbons like this, it’s all the same everywhere I go. Eagle rare, Woodford and buffalo trace
Not bad ones to be stuck with, but I know what ya mean. Once you’ve had a taste, ya want to try more.
I enjoyed the original better. The wheat is alright though!
Taking someone else's mail is a federal offense
And pleace try the brothers bond bourbon
Personally, I was not impressed with Brothers Bond. I consider it a mixer at best, but it hasn’t earned a spot in my bar and probably won’t. But taste is subjective, this is just my opinion.
That stuff is ass lol. Though the cask strength is much much better. Good juice.
