Really appreciate the tips to work through anxiety and or sleeplessness. I started drinking chamomile tea in the evenings and using ashwaghanda when I awake mid sleep. Gradually, I am getting more restful, rejuvenating sleep.
i like ginger ale, the stronger the better, if feels like it has a kick but its not alcoholic. Dandelion and burdock was used by the early temperance movement in the UK as it to has a strong taste, like an ale but without the %.sometimes a pint of tonic water and lime juice really hits the spot. If I feel the need, I can replace a stronger drink with a neat ginger cordial and lime, its very strong tasting and tricks my brain into thinking i have had a sherry or port. works for me. good luck everyone
Did you add honey to the tea? I've noticed that the process of making the tea, and having it even though I don't finish it is soothing and replaces the same process of drinking wine or having a drink in the evening. Something about the ritual process of it.
I really like nature bounty sleep 3 that I get at Costco. It's not only melatonin but chamomile, valerian, lemon balm and lavender. Thank you for all your help and suggestions!
The weekly workout routine is definitely a super beneficial recovery method.... like honestly out of everything, I believe it's what got rid of my urges to drink and my lingering anxiety I had or was having, I still get random moments of anxiety throughout the year but nothing like what I was feeling after a bender
I am finding that stoping coffee and all caffeine stopped my desire or even interest in wine, and even lessened my cravings for sugar.. withdrawals are awful, but worth it.
All that sounds wonderful. I'm recovering but I have a 2 year old and 5 year old so my evenings look very very different with almost little to no time. Not a bad thing it keeps you busy and distracted. I get a quick workout maybe twice a week if kids have a sitter, wash a sink full of dishes, vacuum latest mess, get kids food, pickup toys, read nighttime books, put kids to bed, repeat.
I drink tea too. I drink 1 gallon of unsweetened green tea ice tea everyday. 4 teabags per gallon. Its replaced the 10-15 beers I used to drink everyday. I'm going to try some Chamomile tea in the evenings.
So this "oral fixation" thing reminds me of how my late Dad who passed of dementia, needed a drink in his hand due to exactly what youre talking about (he was an alcoholic) the nurse explained to me about the motor skills were still there and so that is why he was always asking for a beer etc but my point is, it made me think about possibly the attack that alcohol has on the part of the brain that controls memory - possibly it attacks this part of the brain from the beginning and that is how you end up with alcohol induced dementia ( which is what my Dad had) ❤ Just a thought
routines am/pm definitely. I need to get into resistance training more; on my immediate to do list; what I do: walk my dog, do some yoga; my work outs are 1st thing in the morning; my meals are sorted on Sundays so don't have to worry about them too much; re; tea; for some reason chamomile makes me nauseated for completely idiocyncratic (sp) reasons; I found turmeric/ginger tea in the Asian market near me, sprinkle some black pepper to maximize anti-inflammatory properties of turmeric, totally lost my sweet tooth so good with that. Before I began self-medicating with booze I developed chronic anxiety and therapy was helpful but I had been hyperventilating a lot as a by-product of the fight-flight response and after a morning swim the shock hot/cold shower had the benefit of controlling my breathing for anyone still experiencing this. Also if you can afford it and have a long-term propensity toward anxiety a Swedish massage 1x week following a work out is great. … I put a drop of lavender oil under my nose when I go to bed … totally anecdotal but works. Keep computer out of the bedroom and trying to read something dense and incomprehensible which I'll revisit the next day. Tx brilliant video as always; having a super stressful week due to life events so have been dropping in on these videos and they're so so helpful.
Chris I work at UPS I do intense physical labor. I find myself drinking . Not many triggers just wine . But I tend to bindge somethines. Any comments s. Your very inspiring to me. Robert
Find an alternative to wine. Try non alcoholic wine. Same taste but not alcohol. I’ve gotten into Curious Elixir. It’s pretty expensive but then so is wine.

I’m on my 6th day. Slept like 3-4 hrs. Can’t get back to sleep. So hard.
Valerian hops and camomile tea is my favourite combo😊
That would knock me out !

Reading a book at night. Sounds wonderful !
We are in the age of entertainment. Screens are an addiction too.
Epsom salt baths with lavender essential oil put my heart back in rhythm.Magnesium is the key.
Great advice. Very key to get your mind, body and soul grounded. Relaxing in a bath is very soothing and cleansing
I'm ready for something better. Thank you for the inspiration.

Benjamin Pruett you should be exhausted after all that. Meditation may be good. Scott does it every day.
Bless you for taking good care of your children.
Please also take good care of yourself, as much as you’re able to.
💟💟💟
I'm tending to binge drink once or twice a week. Any videos on how to stop mid drinking session? I'm not making much effort to stop atm.
Thanks for the inspiration! I will be making a pot of chamomile tea this afternoon and pretending it's filled with wine ; > )
This video is AWESOME..
Simple, helpful, soooo good
Thankyou
Also, I’d love fiction recommendations-
I love Paul Theroux, Patricia Highsmith , Ronald Dahl..........
Unfortunately chamomile tastes terrible! Any idea how to make it taste better? How about hibiscus or rooibus?
Honey and lemon do the trick

Thank you so much for saying “ lie “ down instead of that other incorrect way.

PS thanks for making deliveries during this pandemic.
When drinking liquor, during the night and day, one gets dehydrated and does not urinate so much.
