When I was a kid, our neighbor had one just like this. He looked like Steve McQueen and was beyond cool. He and his wife would road rally with it; she navigated and he drove. To my young eyes, they were the epitome of glamour as they roared off. I got to ride in it a few times. Unforgettable! One of the most beautiful cars ever made and the start of my Jaguar obsession.

The highest recorded sale was $302,000 for a 1958 Jaguar XK 150 S 3.4 Roadster on March 05 2022. The lowest recorded sale price was $24,500 for a 1958 Jaguar XK150 FHC Project on January 30 2020. The "Trunk" is the "boot" on English cars. This is a very nice example, looks very straight and clean. Of note: Jag used disc brakes in 1953 at LeMans:
The disc brakes used on the 1953 Le Mans winning C-type had six piston (six pot) callipers (three pistons per side) each with separate brake pads on the front, and four pistons on the rear. It is only now, more than 60 years later that ‘six pot’ callipers are becoming standard on high performance road cars.
These were great cars, leading the way to the XKE. Got one of those to review, hopefully. Also you had GREAT headroom in that Jag, lol.

I have owned a XK140 OTS since 1968 it is my favorite Jaguar. I also have a XK120 FHC,a XJS convertible. I purchased a 1952 Bentley R Type in 1996 to have a proper British Saloon. All of these cars are driven regularly and admired by all who see them.

Thanks much for doing this car! One of the sexiest automotive shapes ever. I had to retrieve an XK120 from a parking lot once and it had a surprise anti-theft feature: with the two side gas tanks, it had a L & R tank switch on the dash that always reset to the center position when you shut her off, which I didn't know about. Only had enough gas to get it into the middle of the street when she shut down on me. 🥴

I think the xk 120 is the best looking of the three the lines are deeper and gives the car a more sculpted look I want to drive/go for a ride in one, one day =) that would be epic

Cool. I thought you would only be covering American cars for some reason, but I'm glad you're doing the British and hopefully the European cars as well. They are from a different mould. From styling to the engineering, so many amazing accomplishments from overseas.

Hi Jay, Lovin' this video! You've made some nuanced refinements to your presentation and the result is smashing! That's British English for "fantastic"! The XKs are, in a sense, the ultimate classic drop-head roadster. Jaguar topped themselves with the E-Type, but then, well...never quite the same, though recent models have their vitues indeed. But, in general, today's roadters, with their automatic transmissions, AC, heated seats, gooey but hard suspensions, cannot replace these masterpieces. Modern models may be "better", but they're just not "EVEN BETTER"! Great video!

Not sure if you ever saw it but my favorite episode of Top Gear or one of my favorite episodes of the original Top Gear with Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond James may was when they did an episode with the XK 120 a train in a Vincent black shadow did you ever watch it it’s epic

My favorite of all the Jags, except for maybe the late 40s or early 50s Mark IV DHC. The XK-150 had a certain heft that surpassed its predecessors.

I’ve always wanted to at least drive a Jaguar 150S. Owning a 1959 MK1 3.4 Sedan was as close as I ever got. On an historical note I paid $1500 for the 3.4 in 1963 on a local Buick dealer’s used car lot. Heavy depreciation on “foreign” cars back in the day. New $4600.
