I have downloaded most of this retrowave music and walking down the street in the fall and everyone now wearing 80s style fashion it is so nostalgic I love it!!

Went to 1st grade in autumn 1981 so spent pretty much the whole 80's in school :) It was indeed simpler and happier time. Even the games were simpler, we had a Pong clone, Conic TV-game before the 8-bit home computers and it was fascinating game back then even today it looks very primitive :D

Time flies doesn't it? My oldest turned 10 this year and my youngest wasn't even born yet when you made this comment. Pretty crazy when you think about it...
After school in middle school were the best. We used to have our own places to 'hangout'. Whether it was in front of the store, the playground or right by the lower primary class rooms we had our own places. Some of us come back home late and the rest of us who usually had our parents pick us up later because either our brothers and sisters were in high school right across the street or they were too busy at the time so we would hang out together and it was always the best part of after-school which is to be together and just talking about things without a care in the world.
Tom in that varsity jacket he's got all the right moves.. Very nice.

Man the 80s spirit went strong right through '93 in my opinion. My memory of the first couple years of the '90s were indistinguishable from the 80s. Same cars everywhere, same decor, same brands everywhere.. I remember the big boxy Chevy vans everywhere.

I was born in 89, but I feel like the early 90's was still culturally very 80's. I had older siblings too, so I played with the same toys, watched the same cartoons, etc.
You guys are all right. Born in '85 myself. I can remember 1988 and 1989 like yesterday. It carried over well into the 90's. Maybe '94-'95. Back when things were still happy.

Afterschool Specials in the 1980s were a series of situation dramas on the ABC television network. They covered a wide range of mostly difficult topics such as depression, death, abuse, divorce, kidnapping, STDs, disability, etc. Song lyrics seem to indicate a romance though..
