The Darkhold is what has corrupted Wanda here and made her think this was the solution. Could that part have been handled better, yes but I still have a good time watching this movie.
Also, the reason those drones looked like Ultron is to imply that Ultron worked as intended in that universe unlike what we saw in the main 616 timeline.
One more thing. The Scarlet Witch is probably the most powerful being in most universes so it's not really so surprising that she killed a Captain Marvel variant, though you're right in saying that Captain Marvel is also one of the strongest.

They brought in Sam Raimi to direct, whom you know as the director of all three Tobey Maguire Spider-man films. But before he did those (and since), he was mostly known for horror movies. Specifically, the "Evil Dead" zombie movies. And the guy who was selling the pizza balls was Bruce Campbell, who starred in those Evil Dead movies as Ash Williams (the guy with a chainsaw arm). Bruce has been in nearly every movie Sam has directed, including cameos in the Tobey/Spider-man movies. Pizza Papa's debut was many many years ago. The actor's name is Bruce Campbell and he first starred in the original Evil Dead movie which was directed by Sam Raimi. Raimi not only directed Evil Dead but it's two sequels, also starring Bruce Campbell. Raimi also directed the Tobi Mcguire Spidey movies and now this movie. He's also done a ton of other movies along the way and he has a certain style that he uses in each film. Pizza papa hitting himself was a joke meant for the Evil Dead fans. In Evil Dead 2, Bruce gets his hand possessed and the hand starts to beat him up. Raimi loves to do very odd, weird transitions in his movies, especially the horror movies. so he used them here.

The fight should have been even more brutal and hard. They should have spent a little more money to increase the tension in the fight. Because it was barely an inconvenience moment just like with illuminati. Like most of the scenes in the movie from a story perspective I felt it too silly and out of place. You shouldn’t have such simple fights in the end of the movie. It reduces tension.

The book of Ashanti, a book that Wong claims is impossible to find and this from a source he says is only available to the Sorcerer Supreme, and yet Stephen in another universe not only got it, but hooked up a shortcut to it that they later gain access to despite America's complete inability to control her powers.
That source that Wong mentions that's only available to the Sorcerer Supreme and Stephen says he never heard of, despite the fact that Stephen was in that role for several years and was very well known to be a voracious reader and seeker of knowledge and power.
In addition to the fact that while Stephen was the SS, he used the time stone to peer into millions of possible futures of where they fight Thanos and there wasn't one single mention of the book of Ashanti despite it being the thing that could one shot Thanos.
And that's all from one line of dialogue.
Here's a real head scratcher. Stephen, the former SS, protector of Earth, the one who watches out for supernatural and mystical threats, gave Wanda a pass for what she did to the town in Wandavision. She enslaved dozens of people and their families, threatened the lives of federal officers, and more and he just said "It's fine." And yet in Thor Ragnarok he sought them out within minutes of them showing up looking for Odin.

@@scotiej The Stephen in the other universe was much older, so he would've had far more time to learn about the book and create the shortcut. 616 Stephen was only SS for a short while - sure, he's a voracious reader and seeker of knowledge, but that doesn't guarantee he would've read about Book of the Vishanti in those years. A person can't read about _everything_ in a couple years. He used the Time Stone to peer into millions of possible futures based on what 616 Stephen was capable of - 616 Stephen wouldn't have found the book in that time. Him saying "It's fine." isn't an endorsement of Wanda's actions, just an acknowledgement that she's not an enemy because Stephen understood it was accidental - it's not like her intention was to hurt others and she gave up her hold on Westview after realizing the effect she was having. Not saying you need to like the movie, but your "contradictions" sure rely a lot on misunderstanding character motives and some uncharitable reaches in logic.

But for some strange reason they only allowed Krasinski to play Reed in an alternative universe instead of the main 616-universe where the MCU takes place, instead the one who is gonna be Reed Richards in the main 616-MCU verse is Kylo Ren himself Adam Driver.
I'm still a little mixed about it, but I still don't understand why they couldn't just let Krasinski & Blunt play Mr. Fantastic & Invisible Woman, they would actually fit those roles!

Casting for a multi-film series would require people who're committed to playing the same role for at least 7-10 years. Which is a lot harder to accomplish than one would assume.
It'd be easy to think that the actors' physical fitness and appearance is the main factor in making these casting decisions, but the more important one imho would be the _mental_ fortitude of the actors -- and maybe the studio's as well. A *lot* of movie franchises have already been ruined and derailed by actors who turned out to be unstable and "unbankable" -- or who simply didn't feel like doing the role anymore.

Until 2019, Marvel Studios legally (and ironically) couldn't use X-Men or even mention them or say the word "mutant" because 20th Century Fox held the film rights to them.
However, after the Walt Disney company bought Fox's tv and film divisions, Marvel was able to take back the film rights to X-Men, Deadpool, and the Fantastic Four among other characters.
As a result of the merger, the Fox corporation became their own thing. So they had to change the name of the tv and film studio. 20th Century Fox is now known as 20th Century Studios.
Now that I got that out of the way, here's the real fun detail:
Wanda's goal was pretty similar to Kingpin's ambitions in Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse. He too wanted his family back, but it would be at the expense of the multiverse.
My favorite part of this entire movie was hearing the reorchestrated opening track to X-Men: The Animated Series when Charles arrived. I also loved the callback to Days of Future Past.
However, this version of Charles is not the same incarnation from the X-Men movies.
838-Charles is pretty much a merger of both the animated series and the live-action films. He's even wearing the same suit and riding the same hoverchair as his counterpart from the cartoon.
In fact, the success that the X-Men cartoon had was the reason that 20th Century Fox had decided to create their film series to begin with.
X-Men: The Animated Series ran for five seasons from 1992 to 1997, but now Marvel Studios is producing a sixth season set to premiere this fall.
The continuation will be under the name X-Men '97. Most of the original voice cast is returning, and a seventh season is already underway.
In other news, a Fantastic Four film is in development now and it will premiere on Valentine’s Day 2025.
Originally, MCU Spider-Man director Jon Watts was supposed to direct this new film. Instead, he'll be taking a sabbatical from superhero films until it's time to work on the MCU's fourth Spider-Man entry.
In the meantime, Jon worked on a new Star Wars show called Skeleton Crew starring Jude Law coming to Disney Plus this year.
(That reminds me: Dafne Keen, the actress who portrayed Laura in Logan 2017, is joining Star Wars through an upcoming series called The Acolyte.)
The new Fantastic Four film will now be directed by Matt Shakman, the same guy who directed all nine episodes of WandaVision.
Black Bolt is from the Inhumans show that unfortunately didn't do so well, but words like inhuman and terrigen are all the more reason you should watch Marvel's Agents of SHIELD at least during your free time. It's seven seasons long, but the characters of the show make it all the more enjoyable.

I think this movie feels better on a rewatch because now you are conscious of the fact that she is under the effect of the darkhold and her every action, every dialogue is influenced by it. In her head the darkhold is justying every wrong action of her, so that she is able to fulfill her desires no matter the consequences.

Since 1995 I have been a fan of Doctor Strange, and since 1990 I have been a fan of Scarlet Witch. I enjoyed all the references to Evil Dead, Drag to Hell, Alien, Spider-Man 2, Army of Darkness, Carrie, the Twilight Zone, The Shining, The Matrix, The Ring, Day of The Dead, Oz The Great and Powerful, IT, The Exorcist, The Terminator, The Mist, The Grudge 2, and the 1973 Oldsmobile Delta 88 in this movie. I really enjoyed the magical music duel in this film. We got a glimpse of The Living Tribunal. Hearing the X-Men 97 theme was great too. I also loved the music in this movie.I liked both Doctor Strange movies.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D (the Marvel TV show) gave us all such a great insight into the Darkhold and its corrupting power (when it was featured in season 4), that we all knew instinctively that Wanda studying the Darkhold would lead her onto a path that would not end well for her and the rest of the world. I guess that if you haven't watched that show, it is not as easy to grasp how it can twist someone's world view and make them do things that they normally would never do. And Agatha Harkness just telling Wanda in Wandavision might not have gotten the dangers of the studying the Darkhold across quite as well.

It's nice that this one had a different vibe, I wouldn't want the MCU like that all the time, but as a one-off it was good. Nice old-school Rami comedic camera work and edits plus a cameo from Bruce Cambell, who was in the Sam Rami spiderman trilogy and also the star of Rami's Evil Dead films.

Great reaction. First things first, your nails are 🔥. Your line "pretty sure all this is forbidden" made me laugh out loud. As for Wanda, I agree this seems incongruous with WandaVision, but this is because the movie didn't stress just how much The Darkhold takes a hold of your personality and twists it. Pretty much only her kids could snap her out of it. That makes America's move genius. For me, I enjoyed it when I first saw it and it keeps getting better on repeat viewings.
