When I was travelling around Korea I also saw this, it was really sad. I was talking to hotel staff about this and they said the same thing Jin said , that they are unaware of these things. It was really sad to see those animals.

I definitely agree with you on zoos in Korea. The Daejeon aquarium has a land animal exhibit and the predatory animals were in the worst conditions possible. I could tell one of the hyenas was going crazy since it was running in circles and kept bumping into the exact same spot on the wall. It put me in a bad mood
