Let me ask you with you being in Florida and the business being in Alaska what do you do if your gm quits? Or you need to fire him? Do you have a plan for that?
If the GM quits or I fire him we get a replacement. You just need someone with good management skills. But you should hire well and pay well for your GM to avoid that.
(Man hours x hrly rate) + (materials * markup) = job total We do decrease our hourly rate and material markup on longer jobs because we are more efficient. This helps with conversion rates on larger work.
How do you go about hiring your first CSR? I know you’ve talked about when you’re booking two calls a day, but If you could get a CSR sooner would you? I’m assuming you would want to go out and make some money first. Being on nothing but, straight commission for the past ten years I decided to open up my own company. I start in September, but just trying to be wise with the money I spend.
As soon as you are losing jobs because you can’t get to the phone because your busy working or if you suck at booking the jobs and you have the call volume.
Plumbing vans you can do yourself or have the dealership do it. At my plumbing company we built our own shelves from unistrut and plywood to fit Milwaukee pack out stuff. Right now we are getting some pressure washing trucks outfitted with a bunch of tanks, equipment and hoses. Some company in Ohio.
I love your content. I just don't have the time to sit through an an hour and 45 minute video. Would you be willing to put time stamps on the video so that I can just watch the information from the thumbnail
I've watched your UA-cam videos as well as Jared's I think yours are very entertaining I can relate to you cuz we're really in the same boat maybe different areas of the country but we're still in the same boat I joined a Jared's business group in the beginning of the year and it was one of the best investments I've made I've really learned a lot from him and I think you could too if you want to take your business to the next level you should really join the group I think you'd be a great addition
@@serviceplumbinginc1750 pretty sure I’m already doing around the same revenue as Jared after only one year. We’re on track for 5 million+. I think his method is limited and predatory. I reckon after 4 years we will be significantly ahead of where Jared was when he sold. People get confused and forget who really makes the most money in plumbing. It’s not the residential service guys. It’s the companies doing hundreds of million in revenue. The company I worked out before I started my business just sold for 55 million. Company was nothing in the DFW mechanical. Not even in the top 10 of mechanical companies and they sold for 55 million. His method works for people who can’t sell to people that actually know the industry people who buy millions of dollars in plumbing every year would see right through his bullshit.
Genuine question, if Jered was going to change his podcast to a format with guest appearances, where did you get this idea you'd make the considerations list?
@@jeredwilliams it’s a real missed opportunity there. The brass man versus the salesman. Either way, I am legitimately happy for you. You are obviously crazy accomplished at a very young age. Well done. You clearly ran a top-notch business.
That is so great to hear. I'm part of your program.
We are in Santa Clara Ca
Do you pay your plumbers the same way Jared does?
That's incredible. Congratulations on the sale!
Thank You!
I would love to learn more about the relationship between the CSR & the plumbers. How to foster a good relationship.
Yes! 10 minute videos!
Waiting

You guys should do a junk removal business
Hey guys. Congrats on the sale good luck on the next adventure.
I wanted to know how do you price larger jobs, with multiple guys and multiple days?
(Man hours x hrly rate) + (materials * markup) = job total

Jered, who is outfitting your trucks? We live very close, and we are searching for a company to do our plumbing vans.

Great Video
Hey Jered when you say your average ticket do you mean total bill client pays?
Yes! The average total invoice price of all your customers over a specific time period. You can measure monthly, quarterly, annually etc.
I need those skill sets... please share
Is Van's ambassador in Jared's portfolio?

You only have time for what you make time for!
So are you out of the plumbing business?
I still consult for a few months other than that I’m out. I will be starting a plumbing company in Florida shortly.
I almost tuned out, because of that slirp shit.
I can’t help it!
Can we get a Thanksgiving episode of nothing but Jered’s extreme views?
That would be the worlds longest UA-cam video.
Congratulations on selling the business. That is awesome. Now quit being chickenshit and have a showdown with me.
