240SX Adjustable Suspension Arm Upgrade - Project GripS14

- Having adjustable toe, camber, caster and even wheel track width can come in very handy when optimizing a car for track duty.
Sadly, there isn't much adjustment available with the factory components so an upgrade in adjustable suspension arms is a worthwhile investment.
We used a complete setup from the GodSpeed Project and installed it on our Nissan 240SX with relative ease.

Everyone here do yourself a favor and DO NOT buy godspeed suspension parts. They'll seem great a first and then they'll wear out in a year or less. Spend a little more for some quality parts it will save you in the long run.
Hahah love the last bit, shows what
work on older cars can look like. Great build!!
Wow, GodSpeed has stepped up their game. I once ordered a set of rear camber kit and they looked really horrible. Your set looks very good in quality. Might have to reconsider them again.
Wish i found this before this clip is very usefull just wondering do you have a clip on how to paint the rocker cover and polish the metal
any experience update on your GoodSpeed suspension parts? Any issues?
Hey you never even mentioned what you did with those front sway bar links yoi left hanging after you mounted the control arms..Did you leave them that way, where do you mount them?
I just wanted to know why adjustable control arms are bad for daily driven cars.. so road noise and Tyre wear? is that it does it sacrifice the comfort?
Should look into getting the little rubber boots that slip over and protect the rose joints, pack them with grease and the longevity of the bushes should be increased.
+thesam101 Agreed, the issue is finding proper boots. I dont drive this car enough to really have them wear out fast but people that do should have them.
the fronts lca are for high angle builds aka drifting
nice video man ! did the same changes to my mk2 yesterday
I come back to watch this video cause all those control arm pieces are clean as fuck.
Question: Do you needed to apply grease on all the joints? Really good vids, keep up the good work!!
Ive heard good and bad things about godspeed parts so im still in the fence of this brand being the one for me once i buy my 240. Either way good video you guys !!
What safety equipment did he not use or discuss?
Good video! Would love to see more on the FRS.
Thanks! The FR-S is being shown off at the Canadian Auto Shows so we won't be working on it till spring of next year.
what tube measurement do you use friend
Just waiting for this to come up
Where can I find that ball joint separator? Harbor Frei.. don't carry. Thanks..
can you the godspeed lower arm to a ke70 i've seen someone install an s13 lower arm do you think it would work
"bump steer is not a good thing", like all the suspension issues, it depends :D
Hey how is the suspension holding up?
nicely made video. Quick to the point, showed the steps. Godspeed now needs to make them for the e36 :(
+Samuel Rogers YES! We want to buy an e36 next year so arms from Godspeed would be great.
Keep the videos coming. Awesome stuff
are you going to replace the bushings on the suspension eventually?
cuFFthisSh1T There aren't many bushings left to replace. The arms get rid of almost all of them. The subframe bushings are really all that needs to be upgraded eventually.
Great show, keep it up!
question about the heim joint being so angled on the rear control arm, did that give you any adjustment issues with the camber? because might now on my pbms is like this one and my camber arm is all the way short and i cant get any negative camber adjustment if i wanted too
+Crazyrogue Sounds like you have yours adjusted too far in and need to push it out which will indeed add negative camber and allow for more adjustment.
Do they make this kit for s13?
MePeeOnYourFace Yes they do! Check out GodSpeed's website for all the arms.
Can you do a walk around of that s14?
If you watch this video: ua-cam.com/video/AyNDQUXYX2c/v-deo.html
There's a full walk around and details of the S14.
is it safe to say I can use a setup like this for daily driving but will be installed in an s13 platform
Brian Bejado the only reason it’d hurt daily driving is if you have lots of camber or toe. An alignment can fix that. But the only reason to buy adjustable is if you want camber or steering angle
I have rear Godspeed control arms on 2011 maxima lowered and all is good after alignment but 1 year later I'm having a horrible clunk from them with any bump where the arm is connected to a threaded part to expand the control arm I greased it and tightened then loosened to see if it goes away and still there any ideas what's happening ?? Thanks
This is typical for spherical bearings that are street driven. Your issue is the spherical bearing has gotten dirt into it and thus worn out and is most likely causing the clunking. You can replace the bearing and it'll be all tight again.
Did you get the chance to try out the arms? I'm iffy about GodSpeed... How are they holding up?
Sharad Sharma So far so good. Drove the car to the alignment shop and it drove fine without issue. Ill be heading to the track to test the setup as soon as I replace the rear subframe.
Heyy do u kno the the paint is called on the s14? It looks wet! Haha Iam get my painted soon just don't kno Wat red to paint it.
Its original paint, Nissan AJ4 ultra Red.
SSR Type F? Specs?
You planning on competing at cscs?
If I have time maybe. I find the event to be overpriced for the track time provided but I'd like to make it out to see how it does against similar cars.
do they wear out so much faster than normal ones? i daily my s13 and i dont want to buy new ones every year
Then stock bushings? Yes, since they're spherical and not covered with rubber dirt can get in them and wear them out.
but what do you consider faster? and can i buy those bushings alone if they wear out?
did GodSpeed give you their product for free? sweet Kouki !
Yes sir, I ordered the rear arms but they sent me all the other stuff so that I can test the entire catalogue out. I'm anxious to see how well everything performs. Video coming on that as well but not until the snow melts.
must be nice
well if you guys run this then it's good enough for me..
EBay special eh
The definition of!
I bet he regrets installing this garbage suspension
