I agree fully. Berserk was the manga that has recently gotten me into collecting physical releases and making an attempt to read more manga in general. It is a series that even though does get a ton of hype and praise, it to me at least, so far has lived up to any and every expectation I had coming in! Awesome video!
It’s impossible to describe in words how much it completely and 110% destroys you at the end of the Golden Age Arc. At the same time, I’m like I can’t believe I’m reading what I’m reading right now. Very very amazing stuff. It also gets you excited to read what’s to come from this story after finishing that arc. Great video man! I’m so excited to hear your thoughts on Berserk. I’m currently reading it for the second time and I’m on volume 13 of the deluxe. Awaiting 14 to come in the mail. Btw, the 2nd reading was just as enjoyable as the first!!!
Yeah it definitely seems like the kind of series that the 2nd read through you are going to pick up more things that are foreshadowed later on knowing where the story goes
I got the first 4 manga volumes of Berserk recently. I read the first 2 and I thought it was pretty good. But when I got home my mom had taken volumes 3 & 4 back to return them, because she had my now uncle look up if there was any p***/nudeness in it. And apparently there is. I DIDNT know that when I got them, should’ve known by the plastic wrap. Eventually I will complete my Berserk singles set because she let me keep the first 2 volumes. As soon as I move out I’m buying ALL of them.
Did they not look at literally the first page of volume 1? He’s having sex with and subsequently blows up a demon. Strange that they were okay with that but not things from later volumes.
@@DanielPeppers I think you may have mentioned that in the video. I just idk, feel the party is always overshadowed by the OG Band of the Hawk. Where they actually show so much more character development along with Guts. I just find it a little wild that in 2023 in even a great video like yours they don't even get a wink or a nod.
Golden age is a 9/10 everything else goes from 6 to 7 at best but it's a worthy read. Berserk is so popular because it's the 1st serious work that people who watch and read shounen experience but there are way better manga than berserk out there(though I guess it's the best medieval dark fantasy manga we have)

I tried to stay just about the beginning to the Golden Age Arc, not really talk later stuff to avoid spoiling things as much as possible.
