@jlopez240gaming7 i agree unless there is some kind of super advanced animation AI in the future we will have to stick to the manga, which is okay for me
12:00 fun fact: The berserk markwting team are probably the pnes to blame for the lack of money the berserk movies and merch uas made. On japanese tv it shiwrd that the berk movies where meant to go to blacksowrdsman but failed because of the marketing. Pretty recently after the resurgence if the berserks popularity becaus of the death of the creator, they opened a berserk cafe and most of the merchandise they where selling where stuff you would buy for you kids, like a shitty looking offbrand plastic plate made for a kid.
When I first read the manga I would have said it was impossible to adapt. I would argue now that after seeing the talent of people like Denis Villeneuve. All it takes is the right person with resources and respect for the source material. Every scene from Dune 2 was "wallpaper material", which is what I would say the impossible panels of Berserk could be interpreted.
We would need what happened with Mushoku Tensei, to happen for Berserk for a truly great adaptation to happen. We need a bunch of inspired animators and creators coming together to form a new studio for the sole purpose putting all of that inspiration (and a shit load of money from somewhere) into one great adaptation.

Times have change very very recently and I’m looking forward to the new Berserk fan made anime I recently found out about during this year 2024. And the live adaptation One Piece which has the actors especially the main being extremely passionate about the project. This is exactly what we need right now for better change in a lot of things that was great in the 80’s and 90’s.
Been a fan of Berserk since the 90s. Incredible story but, sadly it was not finished. I have no doubts that Kentaru would've sealed it perfectly but we will never know.
I’m someone who tends to keep my emotions pretty bottled and in the background, both while enjoying media and in irl. If I even think about Casca in general, I feel empathy and sadness just wash over me
I think Connor's take on Berserk merchandise is completely off. He thinks that a lack of merchandise is why there are no decent adaptations. I feel like Connor's opinion comes from him seeing no low-end merch on the streets of Japan, such as plush toys and waifu figures, as proof there is no market for licensed merch. He completely ignores the high-end collectibles which Berserk excels at worldwide. I have personally spent $16,000 USD on my Berserk collection from Prime 1 Studios. I understand my spending is anecdotal and not representative of the entire fanbase, but I want to make the point that there is a huge market for Berserk and you can't measure it solely on how many Funko Pops you see in the hands of kids at a convention.
Unadaptable is just untrue. Allinall/MarkReymer/StudioTaka These are all UA-camr channels that made berserk animated content and all of if worked marvelously. Berserk CAN be adapted it just needs love.
Berserk was made in the right place and the right time. Because of this it has become the main source of inspiration for Video Games , Movies , and other Manga. And so Berserk will in my Opinion and Heart be the greatest Manga created. R.I.P- Kentaro Miura
Everytime a new Kyoto Animation show airs I get like: Why aren't these guys making a bersek adaptation? They're literally the only ones capable of achieving that
One thing that irks me about Berserk is that it is the only manga that is considered unanimously in the west as the best manga of all time. Now it definitely deserves to be in the conversation, but are you telling me that an entire medium is not even good enough to argue being the best manga of all time? It just isn’t natural for mediums, as film, novels or even anime don’t have a consensus about what the best work in that medium is. I honestly think this is shown with polls in Japan which have completely different rankings. And I think it comes to this: manga readers aren’t a diverse group of people and they just have the same taste as each other, at least the majority of them. There’s no way that if every person on Earth read manga would be anywhere close to what it is on MAL. Honestly people, just read more manga.
It's because Westerners typically don't read manga unless it's a big Shonen Jump title. And when you compare Berserk to mainstream Shounen Jump it definitely sets itself apart. Especially in ways that make it seem more "mature"
Yeah, not gonna lie I'm not too fond of everyone saying just the same thing over and over again, it lacks personality and feels more like a bandwagon, like I don't doubt a lot of people have Berserk at their top one but it almost feels like a answer that someone who don't read lots of manga would give.
Its the same as aot fans saying its the "peak of medium". Both are popular shows which are "mature" so you got a lot of fans following the popular trend of saying "greatest" without coming to their own reasons for liking it. I know I can be mistaken here but this is as neutral as I can be while stating this opinion.
I remember i read a comment a while ago that said "In the Game "Fear and Hunger" it feels like youre in the world of Berserk but youre just a side character." And idk, i really like that idea :D
Honestly I really dislike this idea that berserk is an untouchable masterpiece and anyone who disagrees is just wrong or dumb. Like yeah golden age was great, like really great, but thats honestly about it. Many parts of the conviction arc were honestly pretty boring, the black swordsman arc was decent, nothing that blew me away, and a lot of other parts just feel sub par or sometimes out of place. Like yeah you can definitely enjoy all of it, and if you do thats great, but this cult like praise has gotta stop.
The hard truth is that "the best manga" is too much abroad concept. Like, it has the best story a manga could have? The best drawing? The best characters? The best beginning? The best ending? The best theme? I think there are too many boxes to check and individually it is easier to say this manga has the better worldbuilding, the better draws, better ending, but THE BEST manga it's complicated. Maybe the best manga would be just a mediocre that can check the majority of these boxes but excels at none of them.
it's actually crazy that Berserk hasn't gotten a worthy anime adaptation. get whoever is working on Frieren to do it when Frieren season 2 is finished lol
'How about a Berserk game like a Dark Souls?' You mean Dark Souls, DS already is a Berserk-esque game. 'I want Berserk in Elden Ring' like the one-eyed wolf man who carries a bigass sword? Like the sword cementery??
Seriously, my guys!? I have SEEN Puck plushies. I have seen weebs PURCHASE Puck plushies. You cannot tell me Puck is unmarketable. We've just spent five years being inundated with Baby Yoda merch - Puck is marketable! End of story! ... I'm pretty sure I've seen Puck body pillows... But I'm not going to confirm that. 😅
I think the adaptation of berserk is WAY doable, look at something like Elden ring .... I think it can be captured in epic fashion but it will obviously take an extreme amount of time and resources. But its worth it
I always thought it had more to do with the all the rape and sexual violence. I'm guessing it'd have to either be censored heavily or low budget because of the smaller audience. Think about the Eclipse scene. How exactly are they going to censor that without fundamentally changing the story? Or the scenes with Wylde or the Trolls or the Horse scene. Granted, there are some pretty borderline anime out there with decent budgets so who knows.
Why do people shit on the Golden Age Arc OVA? That was a good adaptation. Not perfect by any means, but it's good enough to recommend for someone to watch.
Theres a lot of god tier manga out there that to be reductionist and say Berserk bests them all isnt constructive i dont think. Like its one of the greats for sure.
Not clickbait but JJK fans are the swifties of the anime community, they’re demon slayer fans 2.0 only glaze the fights & animation coping like it’s the Breaking Bad/The Sopranos of anime & it’s not.
Nothing boils my blood more than popular shonen fans acting like their junk food series is now the new standard for fiction. There’s some shonen out there I really enjoy, but I almost never agree with the fans of those series because I see it more as dumb fun while the fanbase preaches about it like a brainwashed cultist.
I feel the same type of cringe when I see an anime fan rave about, say, Re:Zero or Oshi no Ko for the most basic juvenile writing (ik a lot of people would disagree). For me, most anime fans, be it fans of shonen or slice of life, are on another level of glazing and overrating mostly because they've never read a single good book or watched anything out of their comfort zone for fear of not "getting it".

Whoah whoah, the 90s animation is crap? I think it was amazing! Would love to see the whole story told in that style....
First manga i ever read and still the best.
I mean, you guys are surprised that MAL is still a thing, but tell me - I'm serious - where else can I find comparable amount of people with BETTER features than MAL? Because if there are pages like that (I only know Anilist), hit me up. I'd be willing to check them out too.
Mappa adaptation of Berserk would be the only studio i think would be able to do it justice although with alot of the stuff they would have a hard time getting to be able to air but i can dream one day
I feel like the only reason studios don’t cover berserk is for its mature themes. And it’s hard to reach a broader audience with an anime like berserk.
@jlopez240gaming7 i agree unless there is some kind of super advanced animation AI in the future we will have to stick to the manga, which is okay for me
Madhouse or studio trigger
Nah, ufotable would do it better than the others.
Just look at the anime Pluto, masterpiece, we just need one guy with talent that wants to do it.
I'd be happy if berserk got Vinland saga level animation
Or early AOT level animation
Just give me berserk lord of the rings style live action
We would need what happened with Mushoku Tensei, to happen for Berserk for a truly great adaptation to happen. We need a bunch of inspired animators and creators coming together to form a new studio for the sole purpose putting all of that inspiration (and a shit load of money from somewhere) into one great adaptation.
It's more of an opinion for me berserk is the first manga I got into and watched the og anime, loved both. For me currently csm is my top. Ppl having giving up on part 2 but it's cooking right now
Yeah it is like what Final Fantasy game do you like the most? It is most usually the first one you got into so for me Berserk and FF7 is the best for me because it is the first ones I got into. Not necessarily the best ones, but for ME it is.
Everyone hated Berserk anime and mangas. Everyone hated One Piece anime and mangas.
If I even think about Casca in general, I feel empathy and sadness just wash over me
they didnt really say why
I only watched the first three CGI Berserk movies on Netflix.
They skip some stuff
For the best best version is the redux here in YT.
Studio Eclypse is making an adaptation right now, check out the trailer! I need more berserk content
studio eclipse is a fanmade studio
@@m3rtkillzz732 hopefully they can follow through
vid starts at 4:24
Unadaptable is just untrue. Allinall/MarkReymer/StudioTaka
These are all UA-camr channels that made berserk animated content and all of if worked marvelously. Berserk CAN be adapted it just needs love.
Berserk was made in the right place and the right time. Because of this it has become the main source of inspiration for Video Games , Movies , and other Manga. And so Berserk will in my Opinion and Heart be the greatest Manga created.
R.I.P- Kentaro Miura
it is easily and maybe the best book ever
ANOTHER MANGA EPISODE!!!! YUEEEEEEEEEEAEAEAHEAHEAHE
I personally prefer vagabond to Berserk but that's just cause i dislike how brutal it is both visually and with the plot but that's just me
Everytime a new Kyoto Animation show airs I get like: Why aren't these guys making a bersek adaptation?
@@Ash_Wen-liyeah
So "mature"
Especially the almost horse r*pe
Yeah, not gonna lie I'm not too fond of everyone saying just the same thing over and over again, it lacks personality and feels more like a bandwagon, like I don't doubt a lot of people have Berserk at their top one but it almost feels like a answer that someone who don't read lots of manga would give.
@@ShotterGames and there’s nothing wrong with not reading a lot of manga, it just feels strange that everyone has the same opinion regarding the best.
Speaking as someone who used to support live action anime adaptations, I'm curious, why do you want live action?
The people who animated Castlevania I think could do a good job animating it
I remember i read a comment a while ago that said "In the Game "Fear and Hunger" it feels like youre in the world of Berserk but youre just a side character." And idk, i really like that idea :D
Never read the manga or watched the anime, but I like some pieces from the soundtrack.
Beserk game made by software would be 🔥, The creator of solo lvl anime could take a crack at it.
What about Vagabond though ?
Naaah😮
Its rated number 2
These two are always at the very top. But I don't think I heard them even mentioning Vagabond.
I found berserk storytelling better than vagabond
I am evil now cdawg is blackthorn now 😂😂😂
The hard truth is that "the best manga" is too much abroad concept.
Like, it has the best story a manga could have? The best drawing? The best characters? The best beginning? The best ending? The best theme?
I think there are too many boxes to check and individually it is easier to say this manga has the better worldbuilding, the better draws, better ending, but THE BEST manga it's complicated.
Maybe the best manga would be just a mediocre that can check the majority of these boxes but excels at none of them.
theres a berserk adapatation annouced that looks promising
it's actually crazy that Berserk hasn't gotten a worthy anime adaptation. get whoever is working on Frieren to do it when Frieren season 2 is finished lol
'How about a Berserk game like a Dark Souls?' You mean Dark Souls, DS already is a Berserk-esque game. 'I want Berserk in Elden Ring' like the one-eyed wolf man who carries a bigass sword? Like the sword cementery??
Also Guts Rage was way more of a berserk game than any souls game.
I think David studio could make a great Berserk adaptation… maybe once JoJo pt 9 is finished.
the answer is, Because it is : D
Ero Manga Sensei stomps
the relearning to read is true, i can't handle reading any comic left to right anymore it just feels wrong
Who up berserking they shii right bow 😛
I think the adaptation of berserk is WAY doable, look at something like Elden ring .... I think it can be captured in epic fashion but it will obviously take an extreme amount of time and resources. But its worth it
my first manga was berserk and vinland saga
Big up studio eclipse !!!
7:30 or you can read western comics that do have color. Man I will never be fine with Garnt trash talking manga.
First 5 minutes basically unlistenable
just imagine the money a good berserk anime would bring
Why do people shit on the Golden Age Arc OVA? That was a good adaptation. Not perfect by any means, but it's good enough to recommend for someone to watch.
Theres a lot of god tier manga out there that to be reductionist and say Berserk bests them all isnt constructive i dont think. Like its one of the greats for sure.
U need guts in anything berserk
Cause it’s Berserk
where is the dislike button? It is desperately needed for this video.
Just ending the manga is enough we dont need no more adaptation
Connor going full monke trying to sus out that formula.
Fear and Hunger is kind of adjacent to a berserk adaptation.
my favourite part is when Guts says "it's Berserkin Time"
Not clickbait but JJK fans are the swifties of the anime community, they’re demon slayer fans 2.0 only glaze the fights & animation coping like it’s the Breaking Bad/The Sopranos of anime & it’s not.
Imagine an open world berserk game 😮
“Does anyone use MyAnimeList?”
Connor once again revealing how elitist and cringe he has become
Whats up with people that use that site?
Its supposed to be HxH and Berserk for me, but since these stories don't progress anymore, the number one spot for me goes to One Piece.
Berserk fans want a good ending to the manga more than anything, we just want Griffith dead and guts to be able to chill
Dragonball Manga & Berserk are at the top for me manga-wise
Dragon Ball is important because it inspired a lot of Shonen, but I wouldn't compare it with Berserk.
@@PACR66Dragon Ball is one of the best comics of all time. I have only read the first arc and Berserk and it is probably better than Dragon Ball, but to say that Dragon Ball doesn’t compare is just ignorant
As a manga/comic itself, Dragon ball has ridiculously amazing paneling.
For real dude. In my opinion the first 42 volumes of dragonball and dragonball z are A+ material in every sense. I just think that when people think DB they think of Super which is far far FAR worse than the og DB and DBZ
@@thomasffrench3639 No disrespect to the author and I'll acknowledge his skill in many other aspects of creating a manga. But Dragon Ball is objectively one of the worst written stories in history. It's actually worse than fanfiction in many cases. It's complete nonsense that no one can take seriously and must require a complete shutdown of all critical thinking capacity to even enjoy casually.
Also Studio Eclipse too
Not the best to me but it’s still pretty good
🤧 (KINGDOM) hatchiii !!!
I think people love Berserk because of how much they hate the dark path the story goes down. The subversion is kind of like an abusive relationship.
Berserk is just the goat, plain and simple
