I hadn't seen the video you reacted to. To me there never has been any doubt about Rammstein's political allegiance. It has always been firmly "left" on the political spectrum. The band is phenomenally good at presenting controversial subjects. They don't do that slow and soft but fast, loud and hard. They use their lyrics, video's and other imagery to make you think about the subjects they present: obesity, racism, homophobia, nationalism, cannibalism, porn and on and on. Besides the awesome music it is their presentation which made me a life long fan from the very first time I heard a Rammstein song (Engel in 1997 on Dutch radio).
The airshow drama is something I remember very vividy because of a peculiar set of events happening that day. I played handball and during the match on that day my best friend and teammate suffered a severe ankle ligament injury and was transported to hospital for surgery. Later that day i called him to ask how he was doing and he said he couldn't talk because they were desperately waiting to hear from his older brother (who I share a first name with). This brother was an avid airplane fan and was at the airshow at airforce base Ramstein where a horrific accident had occurred. In those days without internet I had no idea something bad had happened until I watched the daily news broadcast and we were presented how a fighterplane crashed into the audience. Brother had been on the exact same spot as where the plane crashed but had just wandered of to buy an icecream. It took him a long time to be able to call his parents. No cell phones of course and all those hours the were afraid something might have happened to him while at the same time being in hospital for the other son's surgery. The family has always "believed" that the handball injury my friend succumbed saved his brother somehow. Mind you the family was not religious in any way. I remember my friend being very upset about the band Rammstein becoming a thing and especially because they also made the song "Rammstein" about the accident. At the same time I became a big Rammstein fan though.

It’s so cool that you have your own personal perspective on the name. I didn’t know anything about the airplane until watching this video.
As always, thank you very much for your insightful comment ❤️

The song Links 2-3-4 was their answer to all accusations of Nazi sympathies which followed e.g. with the Stripped music video.
"They want my heart in the right place but if I look down on me then it beats left." (from Links 2-3-4).

Hello Inna, today on UA-cam I heard a song named Concrete Cages, performed by a band named Scardust. Combing their own sound with an old, rarely heard musical instrument known as a hurdygurdy provided a pleasant folksy meets heavy metal experience. I hope you will enjoy it.

If you would like to react to an artist you might not have heard of before, I recommend Aesthetic Perfection with the song Gods & Gold… they’ve worked with members of Rammstein

I've heard this accusation a lot, especially from persons who don't hear/listen to Rammstein's songs, but just got some snippets if any. And even though I guess that Rammstein incorporates some elements of aesthetics formerly used by Nazis for provocation purposes, they have reached (with or without intension?) that those aesthetics are now Rammstein style.
A lot of their lyrics have controversal topics, but I didn't see any witness for a right-wing mind. One thing that oftenly irritates people who are not familiar with Rammstein is that they write songs about true crime stories from the perspective of the perpetrator, but not in a glorifying way, more in a creepy one.
Long story short: They are no Nazis. They are brilliant, provocative, and they address whatever they think it is worth.

They are opposite of nazis, but as well of USA imperialism.. USA has a NATO base in Ramstein..
