Khlong Toei Market - The Largest Fresh Food Market In Bangkok - Thailand 2024

Khlong Toei Market is located near Sukhumvit Road and is listed by many as one of the ‘must-visit’ markets in Bangkok for fresh food lovers. Most of the food served in Bangkok restaurants will probably have been purchased here.
Khlong Toei means “Pandan Leaf Canal”. Pandan leaf is a fragrant leaf used to flavor Thai sweets and is also used as an air freshener.
In January 2010 CNN listed Khlong Toei Market as one of the most authentic markets in Bangkok. Khlong Toei Market is a fresh market, offering cheap raw meat, seafood, produce and much more.
Deep within the concrete jungle of Bangkok this little village precinct is tucked away not far from busy Rama IV Road but retains a laid back feel. Some sections can get a bit bloody so it’s best to not wear your best shoes while walking around the market. There are also sections selling fruit and vegetables to explore.
The market is the largest wet market in Bangkok. There is nothing glamorous about Khlong Toei market but it’s a true authentic Thai experience.
Khlong Toei Market is open virtually 24 hours, but best times are 6am to 2am daily.

This market is fun to visit for anyone that likes fresh markets. If you want more of a touristy type floating market with more shopping and prepared food there is a really nice one on the other side of the river from here.

I walked through here. I wanted to take videos and pics but there was a lot of ppl and i got nervous abput filming . I didnt see any other tourists walking through

You will see a few but it’s mostly a locals market. It does get very crowded and difficult to film. The market is fun to see. It has so much going on.
