They need to bring back the extra 95$ because of food price are going up
Once again they never will said, my state Governor of Indiana and, that’s why they started getting rid of them as soon as possible! Again he stated they were embarrassed because,they had to do it! Well,if they give us fixed and low income people enough benefits to begin with they never would of had to do this to begin with, yet, they can’t figure out why even people on monthly benefits are going hungry! Keep praying they get it voted and passed where they make the extra $95/ $120 signed into law where it becomes part of our normal monthly benefit.
I’d be happy or happier if the minimum went from $23 to $50 a month.

@@CleothaHayes Many people are on disability because they have tens of thousands of dollars in medical expenses and thousands in prescription cost. If they are elderly or disabled and go back to work then they lose their insurance and prescriptions. Just one of my breathing prescriptions is $380 times two. Many companies choose to give workers just under the amount of hours to be eligible for insurance and many will not hire elderly or disabled people. We wont even get in to preexisting conditions. Also age discrimination is very real. Try getting a job if you are a woman and older than 55.😢

Just heard news food prices went up again. They should have ebt add more funds in ebt and also make available buy hot food.
I can say bacon has been back up for awhile, somethings have, but, I went to Walmart this time, instead of Kroger’s and, less than $80 but, I brought my Cherry Zero with cash and, I done brought my Valentines Goodies and, the one candy, I like, I brought because, I don’t buy them to often anymore because, of the price, but, I been craving them, and, they were close to $8 for normal size bag. Aka/ I mostly make my own candy now from time to time! Right before the Pandemic, I started learning to make candy and, this past Spring, I finally learned a easy way to make yeast rolls. Aka/ Hot food gets quite expensive, that’s why, I am glad , I know make/ cook and bake just about anything!

Nothin, just nothin because, they are embarrassed by those of us on low and fixed income need extra help! Literally pretty much the words out of my state Governor of Indiana and, all the other state governors and representatives followed suit by saying the same thing when, they had to issue the $95-$120 extra! Well,just like, I said, they wouldn’t be embarrassed if they gave us more to eat off with for a month to begin with! That is why they decided to do away with the Emergency Allotments when, they could!
Our Governor and democratic led state house was ready to increase the federal $23 snap minimum. The Republican led state senate won’t vote for it. They don’t want us to have anything

Yep Texas is horrible right now 435 last almost 2 1/2 weeks. I search for them twice a week alot of the food rotten. Some places only allow you to come once a month. I feed my kids but sometimes dont eat and I am diabetic.
That sounds like a lot of food stamps how many people are you feeding? Food pantries can be helpful not all giveaway rotten food. Do you check your stores for markdown meat and other markdown and clearance food items not all is short dated this helps save on the budget

Cut my Snap to $168 a month. Food prices have risen. My food stamps will pay 2 weeks of food for the month. 😢 Fattening starches is only option!
I do what, I need to do, I take and, have to pay out cash for food every month, I try to stock my freezer when, I can. I also cook and, I make sure meals can last me for a few days or at least 2 days, I cook in the crockpot and, I like to bake! Basically if, I can get extra meat, which cost the most, I get a little extra if, I get a good deal on it! I like skinless chicken thighs and, re-wrap them in plastic and then, foil and down in plastic bags, same now with steak( safeguards against freezer burn) and,I do this if, I can find a good deal on bigger pkg. of hamburger! Another thing, I do now since, I know have a bit bigger freezer space is make breakfast sandwiches and, once, I have my food slightly cooled and, wrap them up and, put them in the freezer! Then, when, I know, I am going to want one of my breakfast sandwiches, I of course eat one after, I get them made, but,if, I am going to need one, I thaw in the fridge overnight, that way this reassures, I have something for breakfast if, I have nothing planned or in a hurry the next day, even if, I eat one at night, it’s quick and convenient. I also, try to stock up shredded cheeses because, I can freeze them, I mostly have on my freezer door my baking goodies like chocolate bars,baking chips, (just a few) then, I freeze my yeast now, it makes it last longer! I don’t like soups, mostly cream soups for casseroles and, l now learned to make homage coney sauce, so, when, I want coney dogs, I will freeze the rest. I also finally found away not to long ago to make homage tomato soup a recipe that, I like better! I don’t have a lot of food storage but, I stock up when, and, where, I can. If you just do a little bit at a time that helps. I love baked potatoes and, U try to have me a couple and, so, I will keep broccoli at all times mostly in the freezer and, now to save time on cutting, I have at least a couple bags of frozen veggie blends or cut up peppers. I use the re-usable plastic bags for somethings, that way, I can cut down on buying a lot of plastic bags and, then, I even got me a bigger crockpot if, I need to, I can slow cook a roast and, when, I use my crockpot, I use the crockpot liners, aka/ big plastic bags to save clean-up! Another thing so, my berries, grapes and, bacon don’t go bad when, I buy them,I have the right containers to store them. I do even get extra goodies but,make sure, I can allow for those extras. With going through my 3 rd round and longest round of cancer and, my refrigerator going down and, getting replaced with something much better, then, with things being the way they are with food prices, I wanted to make sure, I could have things that would make sure, I got things that would cut down on a lot of waste. Because, in order to safe money you also got to store it good and be able to stock upon what you can.
Is it only you or are you trying to keep a family fed? Being single, $168 would be $108 more than my total food budget for the month. Which includes the $23 a month in snap I get. Lots of frozen vegetables, low sodium canned diced tomatoes and beans, as well as dried beans, split peas, oatmeal, fat free Greek yogurt, eggs, I’m on a medically restricted diet including having to be gluten free and low sodium. Buying staples only means I can have a little something, like a couple tablespoons of yogurt or oatmeal to take my morning medications with and one actual meal a day. And stretch so I can eat once a day through the month. Use a crock pot a lot. It’s not easy though!
As a single senior I receive $23 a month you would be surprised how I can stretch that any store I go into I go straight for the markdown meat then I check other areas for markdown and clearance items not everything is short dated. Shopping this way has helped me stock up items for future meals
@@debbieframpton3857 of course we’ve become pros at pinching a penny and shopping smart. Which includes haunting the last day of sale markdowns and good special buys. But we also know that having to count in our head or carry our phone with calculator for every single thing we buy, then before checkout look to see what’s not absolutely necessary for the month, is draining. It’s not a flex or a boast for me to say I spend $60 a month on groceries, it’s survival fact.
That’s alot $168 for 1 person that’s my whole budget in cash for family of 3 a whole month gotta learn to budget that’s more than enough should be grateful
And my is letting tons of immigrants in and we can’t walk no more they will cut it because there is more people coming in the us forcing the gov to give us less
