TEXAS CUT MINE 35.00 because of 35.00 cost of living increase on my SSI. i’m so disappointed n this country
The funny thing is about Snap is. I was getting $292 a month living in am homeless. And they cut me down to seventy six dollars A month where is the Justice? Oh I forgot. We keep sending money over to other countries and screw. Those who live here in the United States and the government's own backyard.
The state of Connecticut. Did that to me one I gotta eat cold meals. Because I can't purchase a hot meal with food stamp card. And they cut me down oh yeah, I forgot. It's wintertime here in Connecticut. I'm living in a truck where is the justice
Go to a Shelter. And apply there for Housing Assistance even if you don't stay there.

Where on earth are you living? The average cost of a room rental is $900 to $1200 a month in DC/MD/VA. Long gone are the days you could rent a room for $300 to $500. That was 2005. This woman also probably has a cell phone and other bills to pay plus transportation. $900 a month will take you nowhere these days. I do understand why she is homeless. Have some compassion.

Thats crazy because they cut our stamps in illinois..ugh me and my son need food we both on disability..no enough money,,Bills are high rent,,,need food..
NYS just cut me $62 i am 72 disabled and i cant get very far on $200 a month. I have on way to get to food pantrys. Thought SNAP was for healthy living. Hot dogs are not healthy..mac and cheese is not healthy..cant afford fresh fruits and vegetables vegetables... got to stretch it as far as i can.

Me too. I’ve had to resort to filling survey on a receipt that I get from McDonald’s when you complete it you can get a free sandwich. I’ve even had to dig through the restaurant trash to get some extra receipts so I could use them for another day. The great state of New York saw fit to give me $23 in food stamps. That’s what I’ve had to resort to try to eat.

You obviously have more coming in then going out. You can't count things like internet cable, car insurance, cable. Those are luxuries.

You know the government doesn't want us to be in poverty so they say but how come we can only get $100 or $110 a month we cannot survive on that

As a single person living on Social Security only I receive $29 a month
I am 75 and not disabled and I get $70 a month. I’m thinking about going back to work as an instructional assistant at an elementary school in Vermont.

Not everybody got an increase in snap in October my snap was decreased because of the Social Security cost of living we got in January
You folks are lucky. My SNAP was reduced from $55 to $25 January 2024. What the heck can you buy for $25 a month. This is crazy. Thank Goodness I eat healthy and can ration healthy food. The food pantry is a life saver.

What do you think about Marco Rubio's proposed reform to cut out soda pop, junk food, and prepared sweets (cakes and donuts) from the SNAP program? I think it's a great idea and that taxpayer funding shouldn't go toward unhealthy foods. (Soda pop is the #1 EBT item purchased - that's shameful.)
Oh, now you want to tell people what to eat? In California, they already have a program to help you learn to eat healthy foods. That’s up to each family to implement. Not your business what other people do.
Most people who receive SNAP are the working poor. For Rubio to implement such restrictions is small minded. Not everyone is trying to get over nor suck the system dry. You, my dear, should be advocating for living wages so that people are comfortable purchasing a sweet snack now and then. Thank you for your point of view, though.
