    NRG have now made a Short Hub specifically for the these cars. It does appear to resemble the design of the Works Bell so you may find its too tall to use with a standard Quick Release / Dished setup. Unfortunately their Thin Quick Release is not compatible with their Short Hubs without a 3rd party adapter. There may be other thin quick releases that may work though.

    Hey mate,
    I’ve managed to watch your video great video , I was way off with the horn wire and will have to get the a copy of that 3D printed part made up.
    Super video mate, don’t suppose you have any idea on fuel gauge, speedo and reverse lights wiring ? Non of mine work, cleaned up the fuel sender that did nothing so wondering if it’s a wiring issue? Speedo hasn’t worked since I got it back on the road.
    Also subbed you should do more videos mate

      Hopefully it helps you out with finishing yours off and explains how it works :)
      My fuel gauge has issues as well, but I think mine is still the sender unit even though I took it out and cleaned it with Acetone and Isopropyl, I never took the actual float apart and cleaned the head. Since youve already done that, i'd probably recommend testing the the wires for continuity (Theyre the Red, Green, Black (?) wires that go into the fuel hat). If you can easily get the fuel sender out again, id test the resistance on that as well (Attach a multi meter to the Black & White wires and move the float). The multimeter should read between ~5 Ohms at Empty to about 90 Ohms at Full. If that is working fine, then theres probably an issue with the wiring somwhere back to the ECU or dash. The wiring harnes for the fuel pump & fuel sender you can trace it, it goes up the rear of the seats behind the fuel pump hatch, and it goes through the rear firewall and is part of the harness that runs down the right hand side of the car , crosses over the driver footwell and over to the ECU. Then the ECU sends the signal to the cluster. Everything for the cluster comes from the ECU.
      Speedo (and I assume Odometer) is probably related to the speed sensor. Theres a sender at the front of the gearbox that perhaps has an issue. The wiring for that goes up into the engine bay, through the relay box, then into the main harness that runs behind the engine and through the firewall to the ECU. You probably need to get the car in the air and remove that sender and check the teeth on the drive are ok ( its like a worm gear). It's on the right hand side near the front by the bellhousing off memory, the connector harness is about 20cm long to the plug. The reverse lights, I actually just tapped into mine for a reverse signal just 2 weeks ago for my reverse camera install. I can tell you that the wire is red & blue, and I *believe* it runs through the harness on the left side of the car. But considering you have a Speedo issue which is probably at the gearbox as well, id guess maybe the issue is more likely to be the reverse switch atthe gearbox, you'll probably have to check the wiring into it. I believe its a green (positive) and black (negative) wire. It's also on the right hand side of the gearbox behind the slave cylinder. Pull the cover back on it and check the connections and do a continuity test on it putting it into Reverse gear.
      Given that both speedo AND reverse lights run into the gearbox harness that both go to the relay box under the bonnet, i'd also check that the gearbox harness is connector is plugged in properly.

      @@Homemade240sxturbo i dont think so, mines just bc of the incompatibility on the short hub that eliminates the clock spring and short enough for a dished wheel. The Worksbells ive never had problems with like that

    Can you use NRG quick release with works hub?

    • @jarsky
      @jarsky  4 роки тому

      Hey Hayden, you sure can 😊 NRG uses the same bolt pattern as Momo. The Works hub like with HKB and other brands has multi fit mounting. You can see here it lines up with the standard Momo mounting holes: i.gyazo.com/d0f5bf891e522a2f4f2dd33974a1ef0c.jpg

      Hey there. Yup, the Works Bell 629 has several different mountings, which includes the Momo mounting which is what NRG uses.

    Question, iv got a r33 gts, it dose not have hicas so will I have that part on it still with the dimple or not?

    • @jarsky
      @jarsky  4 роки тому +1

      Hey mate. Afaik all the R33's use the same/similar clockspring (Type H or Type M), so the black dimple will be the same; if you're going aftermarket though, since you have no HICAS theres no point keeping the clock spring (it's only other function is horn & airbag). Just remove it and go with an HKB, or the NRG if you want a short hub with a quick release.
