- With the Acolyte episode 3 already a disaster for both lucasfilm & disney....one major development now has to do with the recent acolyte firing situation that took place by the disney heads and bob iger as a form of damage control behind the scenes that is already wrecking havoc at lucasfilm just before the debut of the acoltyte episode 4 which is set to be yet another failure for the series and leslye headland as the showrunner.....ever since the acolyte backlash and ratings disaster started.....bob iger and the disney board have been in multiple disney emergency meetings related to the acolyte series for disney plus and the future of disney star wars. This comes shortly after the acolyte emergency meeting as well.

I'm currently watching the show Warriers, and there is a bunch of lesbian and gay stuff in it, but it doesn't take over the story, just has that as part of the chars. I cancelled Disney all together long ago. I gave the acolyte a try because of Carrie Ann Moss in the trailers but watched the 1st episode and it is absolute garbage. I wasted my time watching the pure stupidity the acolyte is. Never watching it again. Never will under Disney.

If Disney goes forward with the 2nd season of Acolyte, do not look for Disney to survive this.
They have 150+ million subscribers currently, they are making more than the cost of the show every month, they don’t believe the criticism and will continue to double down, I think Disney is just a new graveyard for good IP just like EA taking over video games and ruining titles that people have loved forever.
They have already cancelled series 2 . Ryan Kinel reported they have started taking to pieces the sets and expensive structures for any more filming and are storing bits for later projects .To try and keep losses down.
The Acolyte is just one show and one small piece of the massive multimedia conglomerate that is Disney so they're definitely not going anywhere. My hope is that this epic failure of a series serves as wake-up call for them and they start letting people like Tony Gilroy handle the writing for shows moving forward. I have little faith considering Disney's current Star Wars track record, but this is the most backlash we've seen so maybe something positive will come out of it.

The fans keep speaking, and they continue to choose to ignore them. This property could have been a goldmine, but they decided it was more important to press a social message.
This new Star Wars installment is not even remotely related to Star Wars, except in the peripheral use of certain of the original tropes; it's a feebly written and poorly acted piece about a coven of man-hating lesbian space witches, who end up dominating the male centered Jedi (who are, of course, portrayed as all being weak and foolish). The two chief girl-boss characters have conceived a couple of magic daughters, by using “the Force;” they don't need no man! Sounds to me like a lot of wishful thinking and penis envy, went into this storyline.
There is no joy or humor to be found anywhere in this dreary, angst-ridden loserverse. One of the children accidentally burns down the entire settlement, killing everybody including the two chief witches; the child doesn't seem overly concerned about it, although her twin finds it somewhat problematic. Predictably, this movie has failed at the box office, and the producers criticize the public for not wanting to watch it, labeling their reluctant ex-fans with the usual meaningless pejoratives. Apparently we are just too bigoted to appreciate such stunning and brave storytelling.
This dreck was created entirely by a team of activist women; writer, show runner, director, producer. Calling it Star Wars is merely gratuitous appropriation; misrepresenting someone else's wildly popular legendarium, merely to provide a medium for their own political messaging. Zero stars.

Full disclosure: I didn't watch the episode. I only saw some clips of it, and gleaned the general outline from the reviews. Not even remotely tempted to spend money on it. Anybody who saw it can feel free to clue me in if I misstated any important details.
