Hello everyone! I’m graduating with a BTech in Computer Science and Engineering from a third-tier college. I’ve had a long-standing interest in game development, but haven’t been able to immerse myself in it fully. My passion for it is growing, and I’m considering dropping out of college to focus entirely on game development by taking a G2M course. If I complete my graduation, I could easily secure a package of 20 LPA. I need to weigh this against the financial stability it would provide, as I have to support my family who has worked hard to get me this far. But now what,college placements are offering me good package above 10lpa but there are no studio out here which will give me the same package as a fresher software engineer.I have checked amibtion box company results,talked with many seniors working in gaming company.They told that game dev in india overworked and underpaid. Why should i settle for 5-6lpa in a game dev for start instead i can get placed for 8+ lpa from my college. I want to be game developer but for start i want stability and money,which as per my knowledge i dont seem to find any game dev companies for fresher. Please correct me if i am wrong. My main concern is i dont want to settle for less for start even if i want to work in a gaming company in future.

People are comparing game dev salaries to business dev salaries and gamedev salaries are a bit lower because of the "passion tax". Overall salaries pretty good worldwide, just don't compare non-game software salaries. Btw most game companies like 95% of them are little startups that no one can predict the future, if the latest game won't sell well ? Then Goodbye everyone. That doesn't make the industry bad automatically, it's just different. You need to be talented, smart, hard worker. It's young person's game, very hard after 30.
Depends on the studio. Bigger funded studios pay as well, if not better, than the IT industry. Also, disagree with the young person's game part. I joined the game industry in my mid 30s.

You have to program design art and communicate with others so u will have average spoken english skill. English is easy buddy just practice some grammer daily 15 minutes and study an english book daily 45 minutes

I don't have any guidance, and if I want to make connections, I found that I literally live in the middle of nowhere (in a very small village with limited resources). Somehow, my parents have been able to provide me with all the things I need. Please help me!

You can get an internship while still in school college and work experience and skills go hand in hand, you need both

Don't drop out of college- you do need to be a graduate. You can join G2M while you are in college.
