Nathaniel has legitimately been one of the most intriguing characters I've ever witnessed, let alone run for and try to implement his backstory into the world
and this song is fantastic
thanks for playing buddy
Jo! :D
True
I wonder how Davy create such interesting charactes
I love how everything in his backstory and background made it seam like he was a wizard but played a bard so beautifully. A great example of make the character first and the class comes second. My favorite bard I have ever seen
The cat boy in the corner nor having a moving silhouette is an awesome take as joe the DM
Out of view and barely visable, but he's there, watching over. Honestly a great way to show the dungeon master.
_"This sounds like shit."_
Thank you, Mister Chappy.
This quote will be my legacy.
@@DavvyChappy Can't speak for everyone else, but I for sure won't forget it.
What is this referencing??
@@TheMANGADUDE2 Nathaniel (Davy's char in the campaign) has a reputation of disliking everything (even the thing he like)
@@redacted144 right, I was wondering if it was a specific reference, guess not
I love the silhouettes of all the npcs, the one table with the Bloodstride skull seems to have Kara, Abby, and Chandrel. We got Tapwater behind the bar with Lancel and Mirth at the bar (Juliana to the right too)! The right table has Francis and Luc as well as Scorpio and Sina. And last but far from least, we have the shadow of Jocat in the right corner. The song is beautiful and is accompanied by a beautiful art piece to remind us of the characters we all loved so dearly.
Just a smoll Headcanon for me, perhaps Nathaniel sings this song privately on the day of Luna and Scorpio's wedding and perhaps one day taught this song to Lancel too. Amazing song!
(spoilers below, if you haven't seen Necro hunt all the way through don't hit read more)
Maybe he had this song in mind when he disappeared after entering the dead dimension.
@@PK-qi9jr i hate this it makes me wanna cry but its good
AHHHHH THIS IS AMAZING
Thank you, Jesus
@@DavvyChappy You're welcome
Oh my god its Jesus
Necro Hunt was amazing. Start to finish, just fantastic. Everyone involved did great.
Once the Banana Bard, always the Banana Bard. Necrohunt was a gift. Thank you Davvy.
*Lemon
Banana
I'm so sad to see necrohunt over but MAN, is this song feels like such a good finale for that story. A final kiss, or for Nathan a wave, good bye. I love it, you, and the whole crew for sharing your story with us.
Same :)
Bless you Davvy for bringing lemon man into the world. I will miss his antics in Necrohunt, but he will always be my favorite.
*Banana man
Nathaniel thinks of himself as a lemon, not a banana. That's why I was going with his POV.
@@girrumXofXtwilight Oh I know.
But he is in fact, the banana man
Banana Man... please don't confuse it too much... although considering his coat colour... hmmm... I can definitely see it.
@@sckiith478 Nathaniel views himself as a lemon, not a banana. That's why I went with the way I said it.
So that what the sketch was for. Great ending to a campaign.
Every part of Necro Hunt was amazing and this song only elevates that. I love that this really brings out the emotions of the campaign
Nathaniel?
More like
Nat-20-iel, AMIRIGHT
But yeah, thanks for the good times and tears(of joy). Helped me through a lot and honestly was just an absolute joy to experience.
We only roll 20s in this house
Love how the shadows in the background are familiar faces.
Also lοve the song.
It was a great journey
Fighter: I'm bleeding pretty bad... it's going dark bard, can you sing me something while I go
Bard:
This is amazing! :DDD also i love that there's the stillborn tarrasque skull on the other table lol
wasn't that blood strides helmet???
@@chrystalevans1530 No it was Lazlo's
@@MaddieThePancake lazlo dung bite the almighty
I love the jocat shadow in the corner, so many great details to find here!
Watching Necrohunt helped me finally start working on my own campaign, I planned on building it up for at least another 6-9 months, but suddenly in January our at the time DM stepped down, and I picked up the mantle. So our session 0 will be at the end of march. And I can honestly say thank you to both you and Cami for inspiring me enough to get over my petrified terror of letting others see the world I have been imagining for years. I have yet to finish Necrohunt yet, work and writing have gotten in the way, but I know it'll be good.
And how was it?
This is nothing short of a true work of art. This is a ballad that's up there with Toss A Coin To Your Witcher and Wolven Storm. You should be nothing short of proud that you've produced this. I applaud you, sir. Bravo.
This song left me speechless when you sang it during necrohunt. Thank you for writing out the lyrics so I can sing along. Truly beautiful.
To our great Banana Wizard
To our great Banana Wizard
Legitimately was afraid this was dropping as an end to your channel. Which, while sad, would be quite a power move!
Your singing is really good! I hope we get some more original songs in the future!
You had me scared there for a minute thinking this signalled the end of your UA-cam channel but from the other comments it seems to be a farewell to a campaign. Please don't disappear! Nice song though.
I love the sombre yet all inclusive tone of this, it makes me reminisce of times past that I've never lived. Truly, good show
Well, let's hope this isn't the real last song
The songs were some of my favorite moments from the campaign. Pretty sure Lancel is sitting on the counter with Tapwater on the other side
I teared up hearing this the first time on stream. I almost imagine it was the only song Nathaniel as a bard would sing and that he sung it to Lancel as a lullaby.
Also thank you for creating the most inspired character I've ever seen in a D&D campaign.
Just finished the Campaign and am so happy to be listening to this
i have been hooked from start to finish, and knew almost all of you from your channels well before this. this has been hands down one of the best adventures and easily in the top 3 must watch games i can share with people. so thank you, Mr. Witchtaker. thank you
love seeing you sing
I know im very late to this but i just finished watching the series and loved all the characters especially Nathaniel i hope your doing well and thanks for all the fun times
I listened to this before watching the finale and I was so worried that some or all of them died.
Necrohunt meant so much to me and this song is now my comfort in it's absence
What a beautiful song, so glad you went and actually did this. Loved it so much when hearing it the first time.
I am sad I missed out on necro hunt, but this is a great song.
There's a playlist on Jocat's channel if you want to watch it
Wow this is beautiful, thank you so much for the wonderful story, character and this song. Now if you'll excuse me I need to listen to this on repeat for a while
This is a really good song.
Thank you. It was a little touching, even.
For some reason this song gave me nostalgia flashbacks to the Deponia games (from deadalic entertainment).
The jocat shadow in the background-
Love it
I AM NOT CRYING YOU ARE CRYING
I need that as a background, its beautiful!
11 months nearly a year since my favourite dnd series ended...I have listened to other dnd podcasts non of them hit the same as necro hunt damn I miss the series
are you trying to make me betray my emotion?
Cause it worked, this is great song that brings back the joy of getting to watch the banana man and the rest of that party
I too hope they all meet again
Cause I want to hear what Nathaniel has to say about what was on the other side of that portal.
Probably lazlo/bloodstride
if this is the last song it's a damn good one to end music on
This is one of the most pleasant songs I have heard in a long time. Hits all the right feelings.
I can listen to this song over and over again and never tire of it! It's so beautiful!!
I kinda want sheet music of this so I could learn how to sing it, but love it either way!
This is extremely enjoyable and makes me sad that necrohunt is over ;-;
Great song! And a great memory.
If Elynthi is Jo's last live campaign, the Psychic damage will hit even harder. And man, I miss Belkinus so much! 😭
Wait, what?? When did he say this?
Freak, I'm so sorry. I didn't know what I was typing. I was meant to type "*If* Elynthi is Jo's last campaign...". Apologies for the confusion.
@@ivanfernando6804 Davius chapius came back to this song just to be frightened XD
@@DavvyChappyunfortunately it will be his last public campaign but that’s just the tip of the iceberg from what we know now
Gods, this is making me sad about my campaign ending....it still has about two years of runtime, but still
What make dnd fun is the players
This gives me "The Last Unicorn" vibes.
This was a great campaign to watch, loved all of it. This song is such a good send off for it
Honestly hearing this song after watching the full campaign made me cry a little
It was such an amazing story to watch progress and get hyped for every week! And this is a lovely song to commemorate the ending!
Great work man. You really captured the feel of a last drink together
So that it? Thanks for the last years!
Will definitely rewatch Necro Hunt in the future and remember Davvy singing this in the campaign
Hey davvy 1 hr loop plz 🥺
Now I need to sit down and marathon the necro hunt to see how awesome it is.
oh neat
Man, really wish i could see all the characters unshadowed, i recognize a few like Thorn and Tapwater, and Joe just being a shadow, and i think i see Lancel too
Yeah same!
This song just helped me calm down after finishing a stressful midterm.
Seriously though, what teacher has you write a short essay in just one hour?
I just heard this song from Belkinus Necro Hunt, I knew I had to find it and share it
I just realized that the candle is slowly melting
This made me tear up
I like JoCat's shadow in the background.
It’s a sad and hopeful song I Love it
i am still just watching necro hunt and its the fist dnd game i watch i wonder will you, cami, wystle, yaro and jocat make another campaign someday ._.
also luckily nothing spoilered
So beautiful. Love this very much!
Perfection
I havnt seen nekro hunt but damn this song is really good, maybe its a sign that i should watch it :)
Please, you should! It’s sooo good!
Now to binge all of necrohunt.
The MAD LAD you did it!
4 out of 10
My face betrays no emotions while listening to the song
This is wonderful
i only now realized you were nathaniel
beautiful
Has anyone identified who all the silhouettes are? The only one I can really tell is Lancel’s in the middle.
This was fantastic
Wonderful as always !
Does anyone know guitar chords for this song? I am slowly learning how to play and can not recognise any of them yet.
This is amazing!
This song gives me Last Train Home vibes
Yeah, nice song 4 out of 10!
I love this song but tbh I prefere the original version (without the music) it just sounds so cool
New UA is out btw davvy, get your moon watching binoculars and monty python jokes ready
I desperately wish my life will slow down so I can actually watch Necrohunt.
Very nice davvy
Awesome!
I'm inspired to play a bard again
Yesssssss!
😓 sooo good !!
This song made me cry!🥲
Well Done
Does this song have any spoilers for the campaign? I haven't finished watching it yet.
There's no spoilers. Davvy even said it wasn't originally a song for the campaign even.
I think that the reson Nathaniel worked is becose davvy is smart enough to play him
I noticed one of the verses is missing from the one you sang on stream. Is there a particular reason you removed it? Great song regardless; am just curious.
You're actually the first person to notice, nice.
I thought that the song was just a little too long to hold peoples' attentions, so I decided to cut a line. After looking at the lyrics, I realized that I didn't really say anything new about the guilty, and the words were a bit clumsy, so it was an easy trim.
@@DavvyChappy "Too long to hold peoples' attention," and I'm here listening to it on repeat. XD I didn't think the lyrics of that line felt clumsy at all myself. I liked how it said that the guilty, despite their sorrow, should continue living to do what needs to be done. Kind of reminded me of Luc.
Thank you for answering! Want to say again how much I love this song! I kept going back to the session to listen to it and am glad you ended up posting an official version for it. ^^
@@PrincePeace1 I appreciate that the line resonated with you. Maybe I’ll return it if I ever come back to this song in the future.
Personally, I view the song as not making any suggestions or judgements on the people mentioned, it just states what the reality has become, be it good or bad. My personal favorite line is “the wealthy, privileged, and blessed”, who aren’t told that they’re bad people or that they need to help others, just that they’re “sure to be fine” because of their situation, and the viewer is left to craft their own moral judgements. In that sense, the guilty line wasn’t encouraging. It stated that the future was waiting, and reminded them that they “must attend it” because it’s an inevitability.
Ultimately, the words are broad so that you can picture whoever you want as the recipient, and hopefully you can find yourself at one of the tables to be reminded that you *will* keep moving forward, with the only reassurance the speaker can give being “I hope we meet again”.
@@DavvyChappy Interesting insight!
I hear the speaker as encouraging with lines such as the coward rising to face the future like the heroes and how the speaker asks the lovers and healers to make a good future. I can definitely see what you're saying with the wealthy, privileged, and blessed though. As you said, because the speaker doesn't emphasize any sort of judgement on them, good or bad, sometimes I'll picture parents tucking their children safely into bed, while other times I'll picture a corrupt, high-level official.
Congratulations on the original song. I see your work growing and getting better and honestly, it's amazing. The melody doesnt make me want to rip my ears out and the lyrics are sing song to the point of making me want to create things. 4/10
