With the AI discussion….I’m not a lawyer but I’m definitely overwhelmed by the implications AI could have with anything copyrighted. I feel for musicians of the past that will have to go to great cost to protect their work and income.
Thank you for covering a topic that has been on the minds of lot of music consumers and creators. It was so insightful to hear all of your opinions and it's nice to know a lot of us were on the same page!
Really good to see you guys again!! I’ve personally never seen a band getting their fans involved like this and I absolutely love it!!! Keep it real!🤘🏼🤘🏼
Great episode with some interesting thoughts! - As musicans and / or creatives I think we all agree on the use of AI and it's limitations. And as Ben said - we want to be creative on our own, because that is part of the process and it's not just for the outcome. Would be nice to hear some suggestions from people, who are not in the creative business (as a consumer or a creator)
Really enjoy your overall view on this topic ❤ If we for a moment disregard the legal, moral and ecological part of AI (which I personally also find problematic), yes, at the end of the day, it really just comes down to: "But where´s the humanity and passion for creation? Where´s the genuine emotional connection between the artist and the audience?" If we give AI enough material to learn from, sure, it will one day be able to generate really good stuff, but it will lack a soul. I listen to music or look at art because there´s a story behind it, every creation has a piece of the artist in it, it´s shaped by their life. And even if nothing is original, I see a big difference between us humans getting inspired and AI just mashing together whatever it had been fed. Also it may just be personal, but seeing/hearing AI stuff doesn´t inspire me in any way. If I see a cool drawing or hear a song, it might give me ideas to make something based off of it but espeically with AI art, it feels so hollow and artificial that it gives me nothing. So while yes, I can see AI music becoming more mainstream just like art, I agree that we will still be out here decades later appreciating human made stuff much more.
I just have to give this example to someone…I recently saw an opera on opening night where the soprano was also making her debut. The way she performed the famous aria of that opera that night can never be duplicate by AI. When she closed on the final note we were on our feet with tears in our eyes. This is the spark and connection of live music. That said, if AI can bring me to more music I love, I will reluctantly accept it.
If I think in AI my mind is with Asimov, sorry Can’t stop with that reference. I most read again my fav books. Honestly all the DB episode, I was thinking in Sky Net, sorry 😂.
If everything is a derivative of other human endeavours then AI is just accelerating that process. Everything you make is part of everything you've seen. but it is original, because no one else put those experiences and visions together the way you did?
It was very interesting to hear your takes on the topic of AI!
Thank you to everyone who got back to us and joined in the conversation on Instagram!

Exactly! This is such a great opportunity to get in touch with them! They really care!
We’re a community.
I agree! They make us feel so much closer to them!
