Aaaaand I'm back! I basically stopped uploading for a month and didn't say anything, so thanks for being patient with me while I disappeared :) I've been doing this for 14 (!!) years and I think I hit a midlife creator crisis. I took some time off to figure things out and I finally feel like myself again. We're back to regular uploading and maybe some streaming? Thanks y'all
Welcome back man! You were thoroughly missed. Take breaks whenever needed, saturation creeps up on you. You're head and shoulders above (cleaner and funnier) than the other uploaders. Cheers man! 🍻
In many ways, this PC release is a lot of peoples "true" Red Dead Redemption 2. Many started with the second game, a prequel, so now the first feels like a sequal.
i just finished rdr2 then Rdr1 pretty recently prior to pc release for the first time, fantastic experience, and knowing the references from Rdr1 to rdr2 and vice versa
I'm not gonna lie when I originally played RDR1 I didn't like it all that much. It had that Rockstar too easy kind of auto aim and the story made it sound like all the cool stuff happened before the game. But after playing RDR2 and now given more context to the story, I'm definitely retrying part 1 again now that there's a hardcore mode and free aim.
I started this game like 2 weeks ago for the first time, having played 2 first and then this one made me thankful on how important storytelling is on any type of media
Bonnie and John's relationship and growth just felt so natural. They worked well together and my first playthrough I wanted to divorce Abigail for her. 🤣
Would've been icing on the cake if this included the multiplayer since that's ironically better than rdr2 online but hopefully modders will find a way to bring it back, real ones know how grinding undead overrun to reach lvl 50 alone is easily more enjoyable than grinding bounties and having to wait out the timer til the last 30 seconds to get the maximum xp and cash and the pvp without relying on tonics and cards was more balanced then maybe just maybe the $50 would be justified
@@Megatallica666 And this Game was only 3 years prior to Rockstar Golden ticket GTA V and his money printing machine online, in RDR1 we got a better story, Quality dlc content plus online modes in both normal mode and undead nightmare. Doubt Rockstar would be able to pull one like that again
It's funny how me too have been replaying games that I've played once when I was a teenager, and I realized how sometimes I just played them without putting too much attention or not appreciating them enough and now I feel like I kinda wasted those years when I had more time and energy, I don't know, it's weird, maybe I just don't remember that much about playing those games (I'm 27 now btw)
@@jayveeeee i'm with you there dude, i'm also 30 now, and i don't quite remember how old i was when i first played this (somewhere in my teens but that is as much as i remember) and i barely realized what the story was about. I also didn't really cared about the significance of John's story. I have that feeling now a lot when i see playtroughs of games i once played
I hoped for some sort of new content to acknowledge Arthur's existence. Even just a small dialogue change when John told Bonnie about his past. He mentioned Dutch's influence on him so I don't see it out of place for him to mention the man who essentially gave him a new life.
I LOVE, LOVE LOVE RDR2! Everything about that game blows me away, I see clips of moments with Arthur and anyone, and it hits the same every time, never gets old, I just miss Arthur and the happy gang! But, now I have finally got the chance to play RDR1 on PC, I couldn't be any happier....unless RDR2 got it's own Undead Nightmare. Honestly though, because of Arthur, it has been hard to like John in RDR1, but he has grown on me, and so has the game, which makes me wish certain things were carried over to RDR2. Anyways, Arthur is the GOAT...but John is growing on me, he is a true lovable idiot.
What a fantastic game to come back to. I still need to beat RDR2. ::puts down BG3:: Until we meet again, Shadowheart. Arthur… Time to don the bear skin headwear once more. I don’t care if it’s 90 degrees outside.
According to Google, a remaster is "an updated version of an older game that improves the game's visuals, audio, and sometimes gameplay, while keeping the original's core experience." So RDR on PC is a port AND a remaster. GTA trilogy was also a port and a remaster, but you're right that they fucked it up.
lmao i did the exact same mistake trying to interact with people thinking it'll be a "greet" like rdr2 and ending up accidentally pulling a gun on them.
You can talk in R button. Go to random npc and try it, if it not works get to another npc, with spanish persons john trying to speak spanish also, but general in english with regular npc that speak english. But in mexico almost everyone hola, si
I was waiting for this - never had the chance to play original on my old X360 before selling it (tbh I was forced to). I've heard that even emulating it is not perfect even today... meanwhile this port is so far really good. Tried to play it on keyboard and mouse - plays fine, but then it borks at the racing because spamming Shift makes Windows unhappy...
good that I couldnt afford any of the consoles back in the day for which I never got to play this game , but now that I did play it , it was after I played rdr2 which isnt wrong since this is literally a sequel
It's my first time playing this game as I've loved RDR2 for years. I'm a PC only gamer, but for the life of me I can't find the damn lasso! It keeps saying I can capture people by lassoing them but I don't know how. What's up with no lasso?
Must be a specific mission that gives it to you because I was missing mine too (EDIT) I looked it up and you get it from Bonny. Just keep doing her missions.

one day I will play them back to back like this... One day
RDR2 Is on another level but 1 still holds up for sure.
If I remember, you can interact with people in the first game like RDR2, it's just you press one button (B/circle I think)

I’m so used to RDR1 on console, never expected RDR1 on PC but here we are.
This is so indescribably nostaglic, truly Rockstar at its best. Subscribed and happy to follow this series! :)
