    Great Question! The preferred way of checking the transmission fluid is while the fluid is warm after driving for a bit, then checking it while the vehicle is on a level surface and in gear. It is recommended to do this with a friend for safety reasons.

    Hi, maybe you can give me an idea. It sounds silly but I cannot measure my 700r4. Why? The dipstick is always to wet of oil so I assumed the tranny has too much oil (oil change was done by prawner). Then I removed almost 1 Liter but the problems is still there. Stick is to wet and def quiet over the hot mark. Do I have to remove more?
    It is my first us car but I guess it is not a magic to read a dipstick, isn't it?
    Of course I shiffted through all gears before measuring while running engine.

    Could I use the new boot seal on an OG dip stick instead of just using the OG o-ring? Also if have to use the OG O-ring, would it be ok to use RTV?

    • @MonsterTransmission
      @MonsterTransmission  6 років тому +2

      You need to use the o-ring unless you switch the dip stick to the boot seal style. It's not recommended to try the OG O-ring on the RTV, the transmission fluid breaks it down.

    I have a 350 Chevy transmission that is pumping fluid out of the dipstick the lines are not bent do you think it maybe a clogged vent and if not what else could it be
    it only occurs when the engine heats up I'll check the fluid cold and hot I know its not a fluid overfilling issue

      +Kent Starr Hi Kent thanks for checking in with us. Your main cause is going to be a clogged vent tube. Hope that helps. If you have any further questions give us a call at 800-708-0087. Thanks!

    Is it a good idea to block dipstick tube hole on the engine block? I can not fix my old car's seal. I thinking of tapping it and out a bolt in to tight it up.

      You can block the dipstick tube hole but you will not be able to check fluid level after that.

    I have a 2004 Ford Taurus and the transmission dipstick tends to come loose over time and I lose transmission fluid. What is the preferred method for making sure the dipstick remains firmly in the tube?

    • @MonsterTransmission
      @MonsterTransmission  6 років тому

      I would first pull the dipstick out and check the seals on the tube. They may have gotten bent and that's why its not seating in correctly.

    I've got a 1965 F250 with a C6 Transmission attached to a 429 BOSS engine...as it appears, I've got a transmission fluid leak in the area were the dipstick tube enters the casing of the transmission. What dipstick would you recommend that I replace/upgrade to ? Also, what would the steps be removing the existing dipstick tube from the transmission casing? and re-installing the new one?
    FYI: I do not use this truck for racing, it's just a Summer cruiser driven only on the weekends.
    I'm assuming it's as easy as pulling the damaged dipstick tube up and out and then oiling the seal on the new dipstick tube, then pushing downward slowly into the transmission casing.

      Garage Muscle Athletic Group You are correct with how to change it out. We do offer the C6 dipstick also.

    I have a 2004 Ford Taurus and over time the transmission dipstick loosens and I lose transmission fluid. Is there a way to make sure the dipstick doesn't loosen?

    do you have any dipstick for a 5R55E ( this transmission has two tubes “ short tube that insert in the transmission and the long tube that insert in the short tube) The original short tube is pressed in but I had to take it off and now it can be inserted but is too loose and it leaks from there

    How do you get the old one out? I have unbolted it but it is 2 pieces on an 2002 f350 and the top part came off...the bottom 4 inches are stuck

    • @MonsterTransmission
      @MonsterTransmission  10 років тому +1

      Ron Snyder The bottom portion is placed in with loctite as there really isn't a need to remove it.

    • @MonsterTransmission

      Yes Patrick, should be an easy fix, it’s just one of the bell housing bolts is holding it in.

    is it OK to plug transmission dipstick tube? will transmission start to leak?

    • @MonsterTransmission
      @MonsterTransmission  6 років тому +2

      You can plug it as long as you have the tube in the transmission.

    I have a 1973 ford Grand Torino with a fmx transmission, my dipstick tube is no longer attached. Any Ideas how to fix this?

    • @MonsterTransmission
      @MonsterTransmission  7 років тому +1

      If it broke off in the case pound the broke off piece into the pan side of transmission. Then you can simply replace the filler tube.
