      I just got new tires and hit a big bump and only had 1st gear.replaced the plastic bushing and half washer on shift cable Then was driving about 30 mins ok then just had 1st gear all of a sudden. 2008 chyrsler Sebring convertible 3.5 never again.👎 sensor's then gone.😂

      @ Easy Autofix Sir the car transmission is making whinning noise and delays in shifting gears, I checked for the fuel level is Ok, I checked for the oil still fresh not burned, I checked for any leaks no any leaks, I open the pan, but there were no any metal shavings on the magnets no any particles on the fluid, I decided to change the transmission filter, I checked and open the valve body no any clogs on the passages, I removed all solenoids I tested them all, and one was not working, I changed it with new one, I put back everything I test drive the vehicle no more whinning noise at all and gears are changing smoothly, but after two days as i drive reaching speed of 100 mph, the whinning noise started again, and the car struggles to exceed speed of 100mph, the RPM goes high and the speed is not achieved, I checked fluid level is OK. what can be the problem, and what can be done sir? Kindly help with ideas.

      My O/D light keeps flashing on my ford f150 year 2000 and yes when I shift my gears on N/D/R etc it gives this jerk motion is that the solenoid or speed sensor?

    Taurus 02. Starting cold, It wont shift out of 1rst gear. After 5 minutes warming up, I can then shift freely all day until it cools. New Transmission fluid and filter.

    Would a bad Shift Solenoid be the cause of my 1995 Dodge Ram 1500 not moving out of park? I won't go frontward or backward. I bought brand new transmission fluid and oil and that didn't fix it... I was thinking along the lines of a linkage problem.

    My nissan car when you drive cant exceed speed of 100, my transmission fluid is ok and on tge required level, but ecen if yiu press the gas pedal yo the bottom, doesnt exceed sich speed, what can be the problem? Kindly hep with ideas of how to fix.

    How do I tell if it's just the solenoid switch, or the entire transmission? Because I hope it's the former because replacing just the solenoid would be much cheaper than replacing the whole tranny.

      You need to replace the Sputnik vacuum valve under the transmission picke plate. Its easy to spot, because it's right behind the gear nook. Hope this helps👍

    My 2001 lesabre started with severe delayed shifting, first to second wasn't bad but second to third would slam into gear, I did some research and found that this was a known problem on some lesabre models. The temporary fix if you can call it that is to shut the car off which resets the module, leave it off for a couple of minutes then it shifts normally again until it does it again, sometimes it lasts for a bit but then the problem comes back, with close to 300,000 miles it was time to replace all five solonoids. I purchased all five as a package deal off eBay, all OEM parts, the first thing is to prepare the patient by raising the rear and front of the car, I used ramps on the rear and jacked up the front as high as I could because you need to lower the subframe and remove the strut cv axle and everything necessary to gain access to the side cover of the transmission. Remove the cover and it's relatively easy after that except for one thing, the wiring harness that connects the solonoids together, from being heated and cooled a million times the clips that hold the connectors are more brittle than Bob Barkers back, one broke on me and there's no real way to secure it thst I felt confident with. I went to my local Buick dealer and go my surprise they still made the harness, and it could be mine for the poultry sum of 350.00 dollars. I told him I'd let him know, went home and low and behold I found one on eBay for 25 bucks, the only thing was that now I had to wait almost a week with the car in pieces taking up my driveway. I received the part put everything back together and prayed. That was about five years ago and she's been shifting perfect ever since, all told parts, the side cover gasket was the most, second to the solonoids at 55 bucks, all five solonoids were 75 from eBay,,the whole job was around maybe 175 including trans fluid, you loss a lot from the side cover, I also removed and replaced the trans filter while I was at it. I've been working on cars for almost 40 years now, I wouldn't recommend doing if yourself for a beginner but then again, everybody has to start somewhere, power tools aren't necessary but they make the job to faster, with hand tools it's a lot of nuts and bolts to remove.

    Thank you so much young man. I have a 2016 Ford Focus and had the clutch replaced and my car is still experiencing these symptoms and by watching your video I realized my car is going into limp mode. The dealership will not fix anything else other than the clutch that’s under warranty unless I cough up some more money. Thank you!

      Get rid of that car! The Focuses have trans n clutch issues! I had one and I had gotten the Clutch replaced like 4 times. Recall on it.

      With the tran fluid pan removed, you simply pull it off, it clicks on like any wire connector. Looking is knowing.

    Before running out and buying those solenoids try replacing the Transmission Control Module that is located inside the air filter box, (Chevy Impala) no tools required and it fixed my problem. They will run you about $20 at the salvage yard, fault P0700.! It takes 5 minutes to replace! You're Welcome

    Right on brother ' you've given me hope. 👍 As I drive my 2009 F-150 4×4, the automatic transmission will shift into first gear smoothly, it shifts into second smoothly, then it clunks sharply into third gear at around 35 to 40 mph. Viewing your video, I'm hoping it is something as simple as a solenoide. Thanks again 👍🙏

    I said no thanks.......
    Just change the fluid, strainer, gaskets and shift solenoid.

      I'm thinking it's one of the solenoids inside the pan. Probably worth it to just replace them all vs dropping the pan multiple times

    Do you always get a code for a shift solenoid? My trans stays stuck in a gear. It doesn't act like a slipping transmission to me. It's a 2003 Ford F-250 with a 6.0

    I have a 6l80e and 2-3 slips sometimes but smooth on highway or if I’m giving it enough gas. Changed fluid and it’s still the same not better or worse. Trans never overheats. Always stays 140-180

      I’m currently having this problem with the same transmission, my fluid was burned and it wasn’t much of it in there at all. I can’t find any solenoids and I’m hoping to avoid buying the entire valve body. Have you found a fix yet?

    2 days ago my older 2000 F250 (only 136,000 miles on it) went "clunk" and the whole truck lurched - then it was like it was stuck in a low gear. I still had to drive a mile home - it did this 3 more times, lurching like it was about to stop, stuck in a low gear and higher rpm's - but it got me and my groceries home - and I haven't touched it since. Least now I know what to tell the mechanic. Thanks.

    Great video, I have a 2000 JEEP WJ 4.7 and it started shifting hard from 1-2 and the kickdown from 4 to 2nd is really hard, do you have any idea on were to start? Cheers man!

      @@e.l.9589 It rusted out to be a disk plate set and needs replacing. The OEM diagnostic tool made an adaptation for the gearbox and now it works smoothly. The guy told me that would last 100-200km but I did 700km and still shifts perfectly smooth.

      sometimes my car could not shift gear the engine just revs and that is it.so I went to change transmission oil it was black.put new one and went to a shop that uses a special machine that is for changing transmission oil .believe it or not at my last transmission oil the people told me they do notnhave the proper equipment sp they could oybtake out only 40% old oil.noq they took 90%of the old oil.
      now the car shifts way better than before and so far does not stuck and does thebold problem but I still think new solenoids would help.

      @@EPICSOUNDTRAXthey did a complete flush vs a drain and fill. Some people recommend against it as it can potentially cause more damage

    I have a 2010 nissan rogue cvt level is good but 80% of the time when shifting from P to R or D it shifts pretty hard, any idea if a bad valve body could be the culprit? (Mounts are good)

    Thank you for the information. Driving home last night (any where from 40 - 70 mph) with no stops, until in town, my 2009 Chrysler Town & Country stalled. Started up in neutral, shift to Drive, and it stalled again. Kept trying, was able to get it going and found it would run/drive using manual D1, D2, etc. Works okay in reverse. No engine light though? Prior to this stalling problem I have noticed at stop lights, the engine seems to idle at higher RPM. But not all the time. Taking it to the transmission shop for professional diagnosis. Have a great Labor Day weekend!

      I know this is an old comment but did you find out what the problem was?
      My 2000 ford expedition 4.6L V8 Triton XLT 4 wheel drive is doing similar, and there is no check engine light, but my ABS light is on.
      My vehicle won't even go in reverse or allow me to shift to Park. I only can drive if I put the gear in 2.😬
      I was told it was my Shift Solenoid that needs replacing.🤔

      @@flowersfam3462Had a 2,000 bid to open it up and work on it. But the mechanic did not really want to do it. The other transmission shop would not even consider checking the solenoid. So I chose to replace the transmission (they gave me a 3 year warranty on the new one).
      Three days after it was fixed my battery died.
      The one fella told me his wife's truck was shifting bad and it was because the battery was going bad! Some kind of electronic issue! I'm putting that fact out of my mind to not second guess my purchase!

    Hello everyone. I'm wondering if you could help me to help my dad. His work van is a 2001 Econoline2001 e350 it won't go into drive it only will go into neutral Park and reverse. He took it to a shop and paid $200 just for them to look at it and they told him he needed a new transmission. The person that sold it to him told him to never let anybody tell him it was the transmission if that happened that it was the solenoids. The linkage being loose. Does anybody know anything about this at all I've looked everywhere and I can't seem to find anything

      Check the transmission control module. It might have got wet .

    If my pressure control solenoid is bad do I have to get another transmission rebuild?or can I just replace the pressure control solenoid?

      You need a new car bro, if one of those is bad, it means its over for your car, can't be replaced, they don't make those and if they did make em, you cant remove your current one as its permanently welded with gorilla glue ultra super duper strength Silverback edition.

    2021 Hyundai Tuscon SEL 145,000 miles between 40-55 mph there is a slight shimmy or shutter for 3-4 seconds then back to normal no service engine lighten back to normal no service engine light

    Had my 460le rebuilt with monster trans kit, the cooler installed line broke and I got it towed and replaced asap, 1 week later I get a CEL for stuck solenoid open. Could it be dirty fluid or something worse? Drives and shifts fine although I parked it since running this code. Only thing noticed is my 2nd gear shift kit isn't thumping into 2nd like it used before changing cooler and fluid

    A friend's Chevrolet truck went into "limp mode" and wouldn't change into 3rd gear. He fired the parts cannon and had spent all kinds of $$ trying to figure out what it was. I came over while he and his "automotive tech" neighbor were standing around the truck scratching their heads. Lol when I asked if he tried replacing the transmission shift solenoid his "tech" buddy immediately blurted out "thanks but it wouldn't shift at all if it was bad."
    Long story short.... It was the solenoid. I think he'd spend a couple hundred bucks already. Lol $18 for the solenoid, and around $40 bucks for pan gasket and new ATF was all he really needed.

    Changed my whole valve body out and it shifts out good but when I stop it’s like I’m stuck in a hole and then when I accelerate to move forward it kicks back into gear and goes. Does the same when I’m reversing. Stalls for a minute and then I press the gas it bucks and then starts to move. Other than that it shifts fine.

    This is a long shot hoping someone will chime in with some advice. I just had my transmission rebuild on a 2015 gmc Sierra 5.3. - I feel like the mechanic has done something incorrect. he has had it for a month now. has retired it to me a few times and the truck is not shifting correct. once up to full operating temp it will slip badly going into 2nd. Instead of shifting it will go into neutral and the revs will go up fast until I let off the gas , then it will usually clunk into gear , it goes through all the other gears fairly normally. he is claiming that the truck has to go thru a "learn cycle" than can take multiple days of driving it with these symptoms. sometimes it will just stick in second until oi come to a complete stop then it will go back to normal for a little while. it is also leaking a considerable amount of fluid, took it back twice for just the fluid leak and he keeps saying its fixed but then I take it home and its leaking. he said "sometimes it will leak a little at first"....none of this seems correct. the truck only has 80,000 miles on it and I do not think it even needed a transmission , the whining noise it was making that brought me in the begin with has not been resolved with the rebuild. this shop is where my warranty required me to take it and has very good reviews so I felt like it was a reputable shop. Is it true that a 2015 gmc transmission requires a re-learn period like this and do these sound like normal symptoms of that? I paid a lot of money for this truck and feel like this guy may have destroyed it. the amount of time it is taking is also excessive seeming to me. PS there is no check engine light or trans light coming on and this is why he says nothing is wrong. he has finally agreed it shouldn't be leaking trans fluid so it is back there again for that to be fixed.

    I know this video is a few years old I don't know if you'll get this message or not I have a 2009 Chevy Malibu 2.4 4 speed no engine light comes on but it will not shift into overdrive or shift out of 3rd gear I'm driving 70 mph and the RPMs are like 4,000 when it should be like 25 any suggestions transmission fluid is good I'm thinking a solenoid but why would there not be a engine code

    Great video thank u!! I drive a 08 Lexus IS250. When slowing down and almost about to come to a complete stop I feel a slight bump. Do you know what that can be related to?? I have no check engine light. And I just got the car so I'm not sure if the training fluid or filters was ever change.

      @@2righteous I got an update. So I did an engine oil flush using motor medic. I then change my engine oil, filter, and spark plugs, and did a full throttle buddy cleaning down to removing the intake manifold and soaking the intake passages which were full of carbon and slosh. I used seafoam for that. Additionally, I change my front and rear brakes complete with new rotors. Miraculously that surge or bump I was feeling when coming to a complete stop has now disappeared. I'm guessing it had something to do with the carbon cleaning I did and not at all transmission related. What ever it was I no longer have that issue.🤗

    I have 2005 ford focus, no reverse or barely can go forward! When in N I cannot push it backwards, but can push forwards. I am not getting any codes? Any information? Could it still be a solenoid?

    My brother has a 16 highcountry with the 5.3 9l80 I believe and sometimes while driving it will go out of overdrive and run at 3000rpm. If he turns the truck off and then on again, it works fine until he hits a bump. We cant figure out what it is and the mechanic is trying to sell him a new transmission! Any help is appreciated

    Is it possible to make the TV cable adjustment too many times? If so, what are the repercussions of doing that? I've been having issues, for about 6 months now, with my 94 Jeep XJ automatic shifting either too quick or too late, very erratic overall. I've replaced the TPS and have done this adjustment probably 20-25 times over the coarse of the last 6 mos. Yesterday, it started to not shift at all on the highway. I would press the gas and the RPMs would go up over 3000, but it would not accelerate and I had to coast it into a gas station. Went out and made the TV cable adjustment and then would crank, but not start. Repeated the adjustment 5-6 times and still wouldn't start. Unplugged the TPS and it started right up. Attempted to drive it the 5 miles home, with the TPS unplugged, but the same issue came up with it not shifting or accelerating. Is this what they call "limp mode"? Anyway, I pull over and plug the TPS back and try to start it and this time it started and mysteriously drove and shifted much better, although still not perfectly. Should I be looking at something in the transmission itself at this point? It's full of fluid and it's the stock AW4 tranny. Does any of this sound related to a neutral safety switch problem at all? Thanks for any help anyone can offer.

    Ok in my 05 trailblazer there is 2 solenoid 1-2 2-3 or 3-4 not sure but there's 2 my truck shifts 1-2 but no 3-4 , my question is is which solenoid is the bad one? How do I tell the 1-2 from the 3-4? They look exactly the same?

    Mines p0773 and still runs fine.. I got it back from a mechanic with this code and when I took it to him I had no codes or CEL on. He replaced my valve cover gasket and spark plugs. Could this cause this solenoid to malfunction or something??

    Hi! How are you? I have a problem with my ram 5.7 2016 with automatic gearbox. The problem is that when the truck need to put the 5th gear the revolutions going up but the gear is not into. Is like you press the clutch in a manual car and accelerate. I changed the valves box and also the solenoides for the another model but the same piece, because my ram has an grey connector and I puted a green one. Thanks so much 😁

    My car first symptom was the check transmission light that came on with a flashing drive gear light while I was going 60 the speed limit on the freeway and the car switching to lymph mode as soon as the rpm arrow went above number 3 and got stuck there. The car started driving at least 40 mph while the speedometer still said I was going 60. I parked the car right on the side of the highway to let it cool off. Fast forward to 20 minutes later, The car was back to driving normally again. Following that about a couple of weeks later, I noticed weird gear shift delays regardless what gear I switched to unless I put it into park and following that, It makes a clunk noise coming directly from the transmission when it finally does switch.
    When I accelerate and reach close to 20 mph, A typical car with an automatic transmission switches to higher gears but mine gets stuck in gear and the engine starts revving harder and it jerks back to its appropriate gear. Upon inspection I did notice that the transmission is very low on fluid and the fluid is almost black. I took my car to the mechanic for a diagnostic and a fluid with filter and gasket change where he told me that the transmission needs to be replaced and upon further questioning, He told me that there’s no point in changing the fluid because the transmission is basically bare medal rubbing debris and that it would make the transmission run worse. It’s been about a month now and the car runs basically the same as it did when I visited the mechanic with no transmission failure and I’m thinking about bringing it to another mechanic for a second opinion when I have money. I would be more then glad to hear your guy’s opinions and suggestions if any as well. I’m very hopeful that the first mechanic was wrong.

    Good video.....my chrysler 300 2006 touring ...i can put in R and D when i drive it i feel no change in gears engine feel like it losing power hear a strange knocking in engine the knock dont come until about 4 or 5 mins of engine on cut i car off then back on the knock gone for awhile then come back got a code about the occupant retraintfault code anti lock brake u0184 dont know what it is somthing from the car to my transmission not working together cause this is the 2nd transmission with the same problem (except the codes)

    I just got my 2016 mustang gt back from ford bc I’m having transmission issues, I was told it’s skipping fourth gear, basically when I get to 25-30 mph the rpm flares up and if I let off the gas and let the rpm drop a little then get back on it then it will shift and drive fine, but if I try to get up to speed quickly it just won’t shift it seems to me although I don’t hold the gas very long in that situation bc I don’t want shoot the rpm’s through the roof while not gaining speed. Any clue to what this might be?

    When I shift gears from R to D and go to press on the gas I hear and feel a "Thud" noise. It only happens when I switch from R to D and not when I am driving. Even going into P causes that same noise on inclines and decline parking spaces :( I'm worried a mechanic is gonna lie about the repair cost or worse it's a transmission issue I won't be able to fix.

    NEED HELP - I have a 2001 Olds Aurora, 4 litre ( V8 engine) that runs good,
    but just when I'm coming close to a dead stop, it"sometimes" bucks a couple
    times before idling down to low RPMS that it should have at stop position.
    It's like the engine wants to keep going, and doesn't realize, we need to stop.
    The engine doesn't rev high or anything, it just sort of bucks a couple times.
    This problem only happens intermittedly - not all the time. How can I fix this?
    Other than this problem, my transmission runs and shifts smoothly, and the
    speed of the car is not affected at all at normal driving speeds, but only when
    slowing down to come to a stop - may start to buck a bit before stopping. My
    car does not go into limp mode, but the Check Engine Light is on.
    BTW - Good video here, and does anyone have any suggestions ??

    So right now my ford fusion is having issues. While in drive it works fine but when I come to a complete stop and take off the car gets stuck in like a neutral statem. The RPMS build up but the car doesn't move. After a bit the car catches a gear and starts going

    I have a 2002 Honda accord that I just bought from someone who had it sitting for like a year and some change the car doesn’t have a code wen I raned the obd2 scanner or anything but wen I go from park to drive or reverse it jerks forward doesn’t do it wen moving gear to neutral or park just drive or reverse and it also jerks wen coming to a stop I changed all the mounts and did the transmission change but still has the issues sometimes jerks wen going up to 1st and 2nd gear I would appreciate the help

    My 1990 k2500 4+4 5 speed shifter grommet or shifter rubber piece that goes around the shifter ball that goes into the transmission shift that makes it fit tight and shipped with like eight and up and I have tried everywhere to get one and I cannot and I have tried everything I could think of but for some reason it seems like it still don't want to s***

    Our 2000 Chevy Monte Carlo everything is fine except sometimes I have to let up on the gas feed for it to transmission to change out into high I don't want the old cars that used to be a stopped up PVC valve but I don't know about this one if you have any comments let me know thank you

    What about if your driveing and the truck warms up and boom you push the gas and nothing happen but if you let it cool down it’s good for another ten mins or so before it heats up and stops again idk nvr had this happen before stupid 4l60

    Wife said she couldn’t change gears from park on my truck (o fuck) checked the Linkage on the top nothing. When I looked at the link on the bottom there was a fucking rock in between shifting mechanism and the bell housing of the Tran stopping it from changing gears

    hello i have a 2007 cadillac sts 6 cilinder. it starts well euns fine at the beginning but ,when i do a full stop the engine its running fine but the trsnsmission wont engage. car wont move it can easily be shifted but it wont do nothing unless i turned off the car wait about 2 minutes then restart and the transmission will work again until i make a full stop again. automatic transmission any ideas ?

    Which solenoid though? A is the typical one I'm seeing in my research that is the one to change.
    I'm hoping ours is that problem . It's doing exactly what you described. Also it seems to do it more on the days where we run a lot. But when it does the tachometer shuts down and the speedometer.
