Always remember; Interrupting David Gilmour's guitar solo is like interrupting God while he's handing down the Ten Commandments. 😉

What you have just heard and witnessed for the first time is sheer musical talent . It was played live to a massive crowd who will probably never forget the experience. To reach these musical heights takes a great deal of practice and dedication. This music is pleasing on the ear and has the power to evoke all kinds of emotive responses. On hearing it you will deposit it in your memory and recognize it whenever you hear it again. There are many brilliant musicians and composers who have the ability to create memorable pieces of music.

I was one of that crowd and you're right, it's imprinted on me permanently, quite brilliant.

I had the chance to see this show two nights in a row during their visit to the Olympic Stadium in Montreal on May 23 and 24, 1994.
As I knew about the existence of the mirror ball, on the 2nd evening, I focused my gaze towards the stage lighting.
All these lights which slowly followed the rhythm of the music, as if they were alive, as if they were drawing their energy through the strings of David's guitar.

I have seen Pink Floyd Live 4 times… I saw this same show Syracuse Carrier Dome in N.Y. 1994. The concert brochure said the stage is 120 feet wide. It takes a crew of 60 technicians three days to set up the entire lights and all. The concert schedule required that there had to be three entire crews to keep up. They leap froged each other for 92 shows with 20 Trucks per crew and a total staff of 195. The tour cost the promoters $98.MILLION to put on, but the total profit was $260 MILLION. Nick Mason’s drumming is incredible and matches Gilmour’s guitar emotions while Richard Wright takes us on a Magic Carpet Ride of tones that form the foundation of it all. When the “Disco Ball’ was uncovered and the lights hit it….. WHAT IS HAPPENING was what I said….The entire crowd was held in a trace and our minds totally blown by what we witnessed.

Great song, vocals, instrumentation, lighting, and an epic performance. Most iconic guitar solo in rock history. Pink Floyd songs also have great lyrics. Can't go wrong with more Pink Floyd. I would recommend Run Like hell, On The Turning Away, or Another Brick in The Wall from the same concert (The Pulse Concert). It was very enjoyable watching Pink Floyd on your channel.

Very nice reaction. Try "The Great Gig in the Sky" but do the studio version from the 1973 album The Dark Side of the Moon. You will love it.

Hey. That was a really good and respectful reaction to one of THE greatest LIVE performances of all time performed here in London.
It is now over 50 years since I first saw Pink Floyd live in London, with 18,000 others at @Earls Court, West London.
9/10 and would have been 10/10 but NEVER interrupt the flow, rhythm, continuity, and momentum of a guitar solo let alone from Dave Gilmour, It is like your Mum interrupting when 2 Partners are enjoying each other's company😀

Best damn guitarist ever and probably the most popular example of instrumental perfection ever! Thank you for reviewing it! Two songs I never get tired of, this one and Hank Williams Jr's "A Country Boy Can Survive."

You said you wish you had been there in the flesh. Funnily enough that is the title of the opening track on the same album as this song. "In the Flesh" 🙂

Well, hello there. I'm so glad that I got to share this with you. Your reaction was Great. This was recorded in 1994, right... well the reason that you may be surprised by how old & average the guys appear, may have to do with the fact that they started Pink Floyd 30 years prior to this performance. I'd say that they sound pretty damned good considering, right?
    Keep Smiling... Cheers...

Back in O.C. Calif when I was 30 my wife heard a commercial on the radio about a David Gilmour show coming up. Knowing I am a Floyd fan she called the radio station (KMET - LA, “The Mighty Met”) to get information on the concert, The DJ on live radio Cynthia Fox…. said...."Congratulations, YOU are caller number 10, YOU just won tickets to the show and the Sound Check Party before the show"...
I met David Gilmour back stage. He gave us both a signed album that I have in my music room. We talked for 22 minutes. I called him…“The Master Of The Stratocaster” He smiled. I told him his music will stand the test of time with anything from Beethoven or Mozart. He smiled even bigger. I asked if I could shake both his hands that make such great guitar solos, he smiled bigger and said “Sure” and shook both hands at the same time, making a cross between us, I smiled HUGE. Hard to explain how awesome that moment was in my life. I asked him to describe his technique of playing guitar, he replied… “I strike a note, bend it, shake it and then release it”…. Yes, he does that quite well, better than any other guitarist I know. . I told him in my eyes he’s a “Legend“. He thanked me and said “Enjoy the show”…. during the concert after the song “Money” he looked right at me and said…. “On saxophone, another Legend, Mr. Raphael Ravenscroft” … acknowledging my comment to him. It is my favorite moment in over 300 shows I’ve seen.
I asked David…. How do you create those awesome solos?… he said….. I sit on a stool and listen to what Roger, Nick and Rick put down and play along. I listen to what I played and pick out what I like, then I put the pieces together into one piece then learn to play it as one. Our fans are fanatics for our shows to sound like the albums so I must play it correctly each time in a show. I have the concert Brochure and album on the wall with David’s picture centerfold.
All of us fortunate enough to have seen this show live were in a TRANCE.... MESMERIZED the entire show... as you can imagine. We walked out saying.... What did we just witness? That was out of this world incredible. The Red Fender Stratocaster he used for this concert in the Guitar Collector World is ....PRICELESS

I'm confused, David never plays the solos the same from show to show. They're always different aside from a handful of "key points" in every song. Why would he say the fans are fanatics and that he has to play the solos correctly every night?

Love your reaction Gen Z girl! :) You really got to check the whole Pulse concert! And after that EVERYTHING from Pink Floyd! Especially the full album "Dark side of the moon". Whith headphones! Your life will never be the same again. ;) I justl subscribe to your channel to see your other reactions on Pink Floyd! And one advice: never pauze the video during a David Gilmour solo! You'll get angry reactions otherwise. ;) Greetings from Belgium. :)

If you want to see the guys playing "back in the day" in an ancient Roman Amphitheatre with No Audience, No Lights, No Pyrotechnics just Gods playing to the Gods
Pink Floyd "Echoes (Part 1)" live at Pompeii 1972
A little song about all life on the entire planet and how we should be better human beings

I see you react to many "special " vocalists.
I recommend John Farnham, the GOAT from Australia.
Almost 60 years of No1 pop singles and quality adult albums.
Suggest you start with either Help or Its A Long Way To The Top ( if you want to rock n roll ), from his big concert with the MSO ( Melbourne Symphony Orchestra ).
This concert performance is as good, and as big, as the Pulse concert by Pink Floyd.
